[REVIEW] Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser

Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser was purchased by Cosmeperks.

I will be completely honest and admit I hadn’t heard about Krave nor the blogger Liah Yoo until (almost at the same time) two different people told me about it. I was even attracted to the product before I went and investigated the blogger! When I did finally watch her video on the product I didn’t flinch on my wish to try it. Why?

It’s not only the claims of the product (which I’m sure most of you have heard of by now) but mainly because the introductory video starts with “Are you familiar with the words squeaky clean? Well, that’s one thing your skin doesn’t deserve” – and I thank you so much. I know lots of people who have been into skin care know that, but a lot of starters or people who don’t care that much think that squeaky clean is equal to true cleanness. And also her honesty when she said that it doesn’t really smell good… because they didn’t want to add stuff for that. In the end, scent isn’t important if the product is good and the scent isn’t bad, right?

Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser Review

Volume: 120ml

How to use:

I will put it short, but be sure to also read what they said on the website because it’s really cute and accurate.

Apply on wet skin by massaging gently, and rinse off with lukewarm water. If you have makeup, it’s best to remove it before washing.

From the website:

1. Morning and night, apply Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser on a wet face and neck, and gently massage into skin.

2. Never be aggressive! Rinse with lukewarm water. Splashing cold or hot water can do more harm than good, so let’s not shock our skin.

3. If makeup is present, using a suitable makeup remover before would be a skin-friendlier option.

My Skin Type: Combination, sensitive, aging, suffering from dry winter.

Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser Review:

I must start by stating that everything I write below are my thoughts of both the first time I used it and every other day I have used it. I have used this every day without fail, and my thoughts about it are exactly the same as the first time I tried it.

In the introductory video Liah said “It is so hydrating and it’s really really gentle” and I can say that it is true, everything she said is true except when she said that “it doesn’t have the best smell”. More on that later, with explanation.

Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser ReviewThis is a very good skin goal people! And it’s also a point that lets us know the person who made this knows about skin care first hand (not like companies who know skincare… when it comes to pharmacy and sales), and who is used to talking about it in English and in a casual language. I mean, compare this to the texts the other companies write down on their products, it’s like they’re trying to sell gold to you (and then sometimes it’s just gold colored poo).

After seeing the ingredient list here I paid attention to the full ingredient list. Why? Oats, almonds, and other “dry things” are very good for oily skins (for all skins, but you’ll see why I’m talking about oily ones) since they allow cleanse and allow you to get rid of the sebum without removing the goodness (aka keeping you hydrated). I noticed this after using the Nature Republic Super Grain cleanser and trying the Innisfree Oat products.

Now, mine looks like ogre snot. But because it’s made with natural products the consistency and color between different batches, or as time passes, can be slightly different. In a few months maybe my snot will turn to a sepia color, who knows! So, the point is, don’t find it odd nor worry about it – as long as you follow the validity dates and all.

It’s green and gooey, and it sticks together like liquid glue straight out of a tube. Honestly every now and then when I rub my hands together to apply the cleanser a piece of undissolved “snot” falls off to the sink. My point with this is that it’s a relatively dense product that really acts like glue in the sense that it sticks together.

Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser Review

The amount in the picture is about the same amount I use for every cleanser – the reason for that is because even though there aren’t many bubbles I close my eyes and wash my face, right? And in this case, with this product’s texture, I always feel the product on my skin, even though in practical terms there aren’t many bubbles I feel “something else” caring for my skin.

But to people who are particularly drawn by bubbles I see how that can be a problem. My friend came to visit and she washed her face three times because she felt weird without her bubbles. She still liked the results but… Well, if you’re a bubble person I advise you to just use a bubble maker then! So you can have the bubbles AND the effect of this product, without waste.

Now I’ll proceed to show you the several steps of my cleansing routine, and you’ll see why I love this product and recommend it to everyone (even though at a price of 16$ with no available discounts it can be a little harsh on my wallet).

Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser Review

I had makeup, sun cream, and a whole day on my skin. My skin looked quite nice, I must say. A cleanser would strip that off, usually.

I cleansed my face with cleansing water (second photo) until the cotton pad was coming out white.

Then I cleansed with the Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser (third photo). It doesn’t bubble much, most natural products don’t bubble much. Sometimes I have small bubbles, other times (like this time) I have a dead-whipped-cream type of bubbles.

After cleansing my skin with all of this, you can see that my skin has all the moisture, none of the sensitiveness, and it’s not stretchy nor dry. You can see that yes my pores are deeper (well, duh, since they were just cleaned) but other than that they aren’t droopy nor swollen!

The scent is exactly the scent of matcha. Now, why do some Korean reviews say it smells meh? Because Koreans, and I’m not kidding, only have sweet matcha. And if you are a matcha lover then you know the difference between matcha powder and sweet matcha powder. It smells like non-sweet one and I must say it’s so amazing.

The flavor? I know I’m not supposed to eat it, but I’m clumsy and it slides into my mouth sometimes. It is horrible, don’t ever let it touch your lips, it’s truly heinus.

Off to more serious stuff, this product is amazing.

I recommend Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser to everyone, recommend it as a gift, recommend it to all skin types and ages – I mean it’s perfect for women and men, children who don’t eat products, and adults, it’s just… overall… perfect.
