[REVIEW] LaFORLAB Red Spot Repair Cream

LaFORLAB Red Spot Repair Cream Review:

I tried this product once for free and then I liked the product so much that I went on and bought it myself. At the time I used it a bit on-and-off since I wanted to try several stuff. Then when I bought it I tried it until I finished the whole pack, and I think I might want it again? What sorcery is this?? I have to say right of the hook that it’s not a cheap product for its size, but I also have to say it’s everything I expected of the Skinfood Fresh Apple cream, and more!

It’s a brand that specializes in sensitive skin, and this is part of a collection that specializes in acne skin. This collection has natural botanical extracts and focuses on red spots – the bar was set really high.

This cream aims to repair skin suffering from acne, by soothing and moisturizing it while also whitening and giving wrinkle care. It contains niacinamide and adenosine.

It’s a hypoallergenic cream for sensitive and acne skin. Can be used for day or night.

First thing I want to mention is that I did say it is an expensive product. Before discounts or promotions it sells for around 25 USD and it only comes with 30ml of product (almost half of the normal cream size). So I wanted to show you just how small this product is.

Regardless of that, I am here to judge its quality and share it with you!

It comes with a small aluminum protection and once you remove it that’s it. It doesn’t leave any glue residue and the cream always comes out in the most perfect small thin worm shape (you’ll see later).

From the moment I opened it I could feel the strong smell of herbs in it. Now, is it unbearably strong? Not at all. The Cosrx spot treatment is 2 times stronger than this, and it’s exactly the same smell. Anyway, it’s not a smell that I appreciate, but it’s just herbs – which actually makes this feel, to me, very Korean.

If you press the tube out gently that’s how the cream comes out. It’s dense, and it doesn’t melt on the skin unless it’s hot in the room.

But it always spreads easily and disappears on the skin, as if there was never a cream there. You can see that, on the second photo, all that’s left is a nice shine of skin that’s not dry.

Now, of course I apply much more than that on my face, because I want it to cover the whole face.

LaFORLAB Red Spot Repair Cream Review

I apply two to three times (depends on my daily need for moisture) what’s in this picture! It absorbs quickly and doesn’t affect my previous or following products texture at all.

It kind of… levels the skin when it comes to oil/dry balance. So, if my previous products are a little over moisturizing, this fixes it. If the next products are under moisturizing this also fixes it.

Makeup reacts here in the way it reacts when my skin is healthy and not like on dry skin or on oily skin. It is the best day cream for my skin during the summer and mid seasons!

My skin has the same level of oiliness as after applying the cream lasting for 5h straight, and on colder Autumn weather it lasted me until the afternoon ends.

It moisturizes my skin sufficiently to go through the day without having to fix it at night, but it also controls my sebum production – as I said in the intro it is all I expected of the Skinfood Pore Control Fresh Apple cream.

As a night cream it performs well enough. But my skin is aging, and I prefer investing in moisture at night since no one is there to see the sebum anyway.

As a night cream I used it (of course) with a sleeping mask and I was fine – but I really must say my skin is not young enough to have this as a night cream. So after two weeks of using this both day and night I started using it only during the day.

As a day cream it helped me not having to use sebum powder or any other oily skin supports, even when I wore a stronger cream. It helps my skin get rid of the redness of the pimples that appear either by stress, pollution, or hormones – although I still use my spot treatment on those.

Even though it has a strong smell it never once burned my skin, but I might not have had particularly sensitive skin days (I wouldn’t know since it didn’t burn hehe).

Is it whitening? I wouldn’t be able to say, since any soothing product will make your skin look brighter and spot-free.

Is it anti-wrinkle? In theory any repairing product helps with your wrinkles (thus why I sometimes use Innisfree cica balm on my wrinkles and dark circles). So, I guess those two are covered by default of soothing and repairing abilities. But it will not make your face whiter (like a real whitening product ex: 3CE Milk cream) and it is not strong on the wrinkles for aging skin.

So, to sum it up: It’s the perfect day cream for me outside of the (dry) winter season. It doesn’t enrich my skin with watery hydration as the Goodal Green Tangerine moisture cream, but if my skin is well taken care of then this beats the Goodal one on the note that my skin lasts longer without sebum.

I would advise this for oily skins with acne or other types of skin eruptions – definitely not for dry skins unless you invest on lotion and sun cream moisture! For combination skins (as we combinations now) you usually have to try it to decide, but if your skin is not on the dry side this during the sweaty season this might be a good option for you too.

I will repurchase it after the (*dramatic* horrible mean dry) winter goes by, if I get a nice promotion for it. Unless my skin ages a lot until then (which is not that likely, come on, I’m only 30).
