Laneige Clear C Advanced Effector Review:

Laneige has upgraded the packaging from the original Clear-C Effector. It now comes in a transparent pink glass bottle with a pump dispenser, which makes it a very pretty sight to look at. There are volume markings on the side of the bottle which allows you to track your usage.

Apart for hygiene purposes, the pump was also designed specially to dispense 2.5ml each time which is the right amount to cover the entire face. The product also comes with 60 Facial Care Dual Cotton Pads and there are two sides to the cotton pad – textured and smooth.

The textured side is to be used during the day for gentle exfoliation and the smoother side is for night use to provide hydration. Instructions are provided on the box on how the cotton pads should be used.

Unlike its previous version, which had a thick and gel-like consistency, the Clear-C Advanced Effector is a very watery and transparent fluid. After cleansing, I dispense the essence onto the cotton pad and gently apply it on my face. The recommended usage is 3 pumps but I usually find 2 pumps is more than enough to cover my entire face.

It gets absorbed very quickly and leaves behind a cool and refreshing feeling. It does not leave any greasy layer or tacky feeling, making it suitable for any skin type and also allows me to apply the rest of my skincare faster. After several usages for twice a day, my face was left noticeably more radiant and supple.

There was a slight fragrance which reminds me of berries but it is very mild so it was not a major issue.

From the ingredients, we can see that this product is indeed packed with anti-oxidizing goodness. Acerola and acai berry are known for their anti-oxidizing and skin brightening abilities. We also have other anti-oxidizing ingredients such as neem leaf extract, prune fruit extract, watercress extract, lotus flower extract and glutathione.

Niacinamide, a vitamin B3 that improves skin elasticity and helps to lighten dark spots, is a major ingredient. All these ingredients work together to illuminate your skin tone and providing your daily dose of vitamin C. However, one that might be of concern is alcohol. Alcohol is an ingredient that is present in many toners and the concentration is not very high in this product but if you are sensitive or allergic to alcohol, then you might want to avoid this product.

Overall, I love this product as it helps to brighten my skin after all those late nights and I really enjoy this step of my skincare routine because applying it gives a refreshing feeling that makes my skin feel clean and moisturized.

The product is retailing at S$56 which is quite pricey but a little goes a long way so it is actually quite reasonably priced for a skincare product of such quality If you are looking for a toner with brightening properties, then this should be the one for you!

  1. Hi ^^ does it really only last one month as they say on the usage-counter, or in the end it lasts more than one month since we are likely to use only 2 pumps at a time?
