[REVIEW+SWATCHES] 2018 New Laneige Stained Glasstick Lipstick 4 Pink Sapphire

Laneige Stained Glasstick Lipstick 4 Pink Sapphire was purchased by Cosmeperks.

Laneige just added a beautiful lip product to their collection. And I was extremely intrigued to try it out because it’s a glossy lip color! Yeah, I am a big fan of glossy lips. Besides, Laneige have wise eyes to use Kim Yoo Jung as their model because she looks totally adorable to advertise this lipstick. I am not lying.

So, Laneige Stained Glasstick. Newly launched on May 2018. This is a beautiful lipstick that claimed to be a moisturizing, hydrating and tinting lipstick with jewel-like shine. Hmm… sounds interesting, right? They have 10 pretty shades and two of them are special. Shade number 1 (Blue Topaz) provides blue tinge with -1°C cool down effect while the shade number 2 (Rose Quartz) is a pinkish hue shade that provides +1°C warm up effect. We could create different looks by layering either the shade number 1 or 2. This is the same temperature treatment concept like Laneige did for their Silk Intense Lipstick.

The remaining shades are all pretty too. I decided to buy one of the hottest shades in this collection which is shade number 4 Pink Sapphire (the other hottest shade is number 6 Red Spinel). Pink Sapphire looks very lovely on Kim Yoo Jung’s lips, so I didn’t think twice and grabbed it fast. Moreover, it’s pink!

Laneige Stained Glasstick Lipstick 4 Pink Sapphire Review:

I know, indeed Laneige couldn’t be compared with cute brand like Etude House for the packaging style. The brands have their own style. And as a cute makeup lover, when I saw the packaging on Instagram for the first time, I thought why did they make it soo granny? I mean, isn’t that too plain?

BUT when this product arrived, in fact, the packaging easily won my heart because it’s truly beautiful! (trust me, in real, it’s 100 times more beautiful than the photos on internet).

The outer box is pretty similar with other Laneige’s lipstick products. It comes in white and silver color with asymmetric patterns on it. Some information of the product is written in Hangul on sides of the box. Well, not that special but it is pretty enough and looks classy, just like usual.

Laneige Stained Glasstick 4 Pink Sapphire Review

The most beautiful one is, of course, the lipstick itself. It comes in a silver tube with truly elegant and sleek design. We can easily see the color of the lipstick inside by looking at the bottom of the tube (this part is extremely adorable, though. Let’s see if the real color of this lipstick is as pretty as the tube or not).

The tube is also quite long compared with my other lipsticks. If we usually get the shade name on the bottom of the tube, this one is different. The label is on top of the lid (good job, Laneige. I don’t want to ruin that pink jewel too, LOL).

Talking about the lid, it is also special in my opinion. It covers almost all the part of the tube, except the pink jewel on the bottom. Aaanndd… this case is magnetized (again, same concept with the Silk Intense Lipstick). The magnetic lid caps very smoothly yet tightly. So, even though it doesn’t sound ‘click’ it is still safe and won’t easily open accidentally.

Laneige is not joking with their ‘jewel’ concept in this lipstick, they even made the lipstick shape like a jewel. Well, it’s just the tip of the bullet thus it doesn’t last forever. It easily disappeared once I swatched the lipstick, but however it looked very pretty. Oh, the lipstick bullet is slim too, so it will be comfortable even to anyone who has small lips.

This lipstick has a candy-berry scent, but I can sniff a slight of chemical scent too. However, the scent is not annoying and actually it is my most favorite scent among the other Laneige’s lipsticks I have ever tried.

I do LOVE the texture of this lipstick. It glides sooo smoothly and easily on lips. It is very soft and not clumpy at all. And like its claim, yes, it softly melts onto lips and gives a beautiful glowy finish. Honestly, the finish is not as glowy as I thought, but I can still easily notice its lovely sheen.

It doesn’t make my lips look greasy nor heavy like wearing sticky lipgloss. Otherwise, the sheen shines naturally and healthily. Well, I know why they described it as a glassy lipstick. Because it gives a clear, radiant and beautiful glowy finish, just like glass.

I think this Stained Glasstick contains oily substance and it does help to moisten and disguise fine lines on my lips. Even without using lip balm before applying this lipstick, my lips are still very okay and not dry.

Laneige Stained Glasstick 4 Pink Sapphire Review

The shade Pink Sapphire is a cool tone-lovely pink color that is wearable for daily. It looks fresh and is suitable for all skintones. Simply, it’s my favorite pink shade! I was also a bit surprised with its color payoff. It’s not as sheer as I thought, it is actually pretty vivid. Fortunately the color is buildable, so in case you want a real bold finish, just add the layer on.

Laneige Stained Glasstick 4 Pink Sapphire Review

I compared Laneige Stained Glasstick with Silk Intense Lipstick. The comparison picture will tell you more. Both of them have different finishes and texture. While the Silk Intense Lipstick has a silky satin finish, the Stained Glasstick has watery-glossy finish. Both of them have pretty colors but the Stained Glasstick is less in pigmentation and coverage (as you can see, one swipe vs 3 swipes, haha).

But from texture, Stained Glasstick won. It is truly lightweight, moisturizing and not sticky, while the Silk Intense is zero moisturizing though it doesn’t make my lips dry too.

Laneige Stained Glasstick 4 Pink Sapphire Review

It is not a surprise if this Stained Glasstick not transferproof as it has glossy finish. But out of that, I was amazed with its formula that keeps the shine more than 5 hours when used without eating heavy meal. And when it transfers to glass, it transfers only a little color thus the trace on glass is not too dirty.

After the sheen wearing off, it stained my lips with soft pink color. So it does represent its name, Stained Glasstick. I applied 3 layers of this lipstick and took a photo after having lunch (it was about 5-6 hours after using this product). And as you can see on the photo, the pink stain looks pretty and natural. It didn’t leave flaky nor dry result on the surface of my lips. I still felt my lips moisturized decently.

I love Laneige Stained Glasstick. I wear it almost everyday and it’s my new HG lipstick. One layer is enough to give a healthy natural lips look and I usually apply 3 layers to get vivid color for full makeup look as well. It’s not heavy nor sticky even after adding the layers. Though it is not transferproof but the stain is beautiful and lasts pretty long.

I would recommend Laneige Stained Glasstick to anyone. This product is comfortable to be used even on dry lips as its formula is lightweight and moisturizing. The price is, indeed, a bit pricey but its quality is worth it. And personally, this product is one of the best lipsticks I’ve ever tried from Laneige.
