[REVIEW] Loreal Paris Color Riche Metallic Addiction 631 Rose Champagne

Loreal Paris Color Riche Metallic Addiction 631 Rose Champagne Review:

Metallic lips have been making a strong return recently — they’re an easy way to spice up any look in a flash (pun intended!). I have been on the hunt for an affordable, easy-to-wear, moisturizing, not-too-in-your-face metallic lipstick (which admittedly in retrospect seems to be quite the list of criteria).

At the beauty section of the duty-free store in the airport, this newly released series of Color Riche Metallic Addiction lipsticks by L’oréal Paris caught my eye. I had previously seen these on my feed on Facebook, but never really had the chance to swatch them in store. They looked very promising, so I purchased #631 Rose Champagne, which is a subtle glossy light pink shade with gold glitter. Let’s see how it holds up!

Loreal Paris Color Riche Metallic Addiction 631 Rose Champagne Review:

The packing for this product looks luxuriously divine for a drugstore lipstick, with reflective gold plastic casing. There are tiny gold glitter particles creating a gradient towards the top of the tube, which is a fun little touch.

I appreciate the small square at the opening of the casing, which is supposed to show the color shade of the lipstick, however, as you’ll see later, it’s not quite accurate, which is a bummer. It’s a traditional bullet tube with a deep slant in the actual lipstick, making application very easy.

This range comes in a variety of colors, so there is a shade for everyone. #631 Rose Champagne is the most subtle of the bunch — the pink barely shows up and it’s more a light gold sheen than anything. The glitter particles are quite fine and not at all chunky, so you don’t have to worry about the particles not blending in well.

My lips are quite pigmented to begin with, and I enjoy having the gold sheen without any other colored pigment, so I’ll often use this alone — a few swipes across the lips will give a great shimmery effect that is not too bold.

Texture-wise, it’s very soft and emollient, making blending a dream. In fact, with application, you don’t even have to apply precisely — a few swipes and dabs here and there, and you’re good to go. It’s not as long-lasting, reapplication is a must after meals or after a good four to five hours, but reapplication is extremely convenient.

This lipstick really doesn’t dry out the lips, in fact, it is quite hydrating and moisturizing, which is pleasantly surprising for a metallic lip color!

If you are starting out with metallic or glitter lip colors or are looking for a less bold option of wearing this beauty trend, this is your product right here. It’s a very subtle way of adding something sparkly to a look without overdoing it.

It’s also a great lip product in general with its soft, creamy texture that will not emphasize any crackles or wrinkles. Don’t be intimated by these sort of shades, they’re super versatile — you could play ay up the bold look with a matte smokey eye, or tone it down with a delicate and soft eye look!
