[REVIEW] Mamonde Enriched Nutri Sleeping Mask Evening Primrose

Mamonde Enriched Nutri Sleeping Mask Evening Primrose was purchased by Cosmeperks.

This is the last mask that came out with this collection. I waited this long (since mid 2017) to write this review not because I didn’t try it then, I did, but it didn’t match my skin at the time. So I thought it better to wait. I’ll get on details a little later.

Anyway, this mask was probably the one that thrilled me the most (among Calendula Sleeping Mask, Eoseong Cho Mask and Rose Bubble Mask). And I may sound like a nerd but I’ll still tell you why: Primrose Everdeen! Well, come on up! (It’s the Hunger Games, in case you never paid attention to the name of Katniss’ sister).

Mamonde Enriched Nutri Sleeping Mask Evening Primrose Review:

Now, I tried this mask in the summer time and it was far too moisturizing for my skin at the time. It felt greasy and didn’t absorb, and in the next morning it was still greasy. So I thought I should wait until the weather is dry, and that is now!

The texture of this cream is quite nice. It slides easily and doesn’t feel that creamy, it’s like a mixture of a cream and a watery cream. Honestly, as soon as I touched it I got happy! Great texture. It has small capsule balls that dissolve as you scrub it on your skin, and they don’t hurt at all. In fact, at first I thought maybe I didn’t wash my face well enough! Until I actually saw the small capsules hehe.

The smell of this mask is delicious. Light and flowery, but not the normal flowers we use (rose, lavender,…) it is truly amazing. They should make a whole collection revolving around Evening Primrose!

You can see here the small capsules, and I think you can see that the cream isn’t that dense or “rich”, making it ideal for a mask for someone who wants richness and moisture – but not heaviness.

A-ha! The capsules. And also my horrible skin condition. I was doing my skin care as I did before, when I was using the propolis sleeping mask from Skinfood.

So you can see my skin, and the capsules, all before application. Now let’s see how it looks after I apply it properly.

You can see it didn’t really make my skin look awesome, but maybe after a few usages it will have some effect. Some products take longer to act, right? And if it keeps feeling light and leaves my skin moist who am I to complain.

However, after using all of it up (literally, I finished the pot) the effects didn’t improve. In fact, if I wanted to have the desired effect I had to add a mask sheet to my night routine and a stronger cream. I also tried just applying a good cream and no sleeping mask, and the effect was… as if I had applied this mask, aka having the mask and not having the mask had no effect whatsoever.

Also, at no point of my usage of this mask did it ever absorb at night. Once I woke up at 4am and it still hadn’t absorbed. The only days when I wake up without the greasy moisture of an unabsorbed cream are those days after I have a nightmare or an action dream. Which means that my pillow now has more sleeping mask than my face.

To put it short, it did nothing for me in the summer nor in the winter, even though it felt and smelled nice.

Maybe if you have year-round dry skin you can use this in the humid season, or if you have young normal skin you can use this in the dry season. But it really did nothing to my skin. For now I’ll definitely go back to one of the other masks I currently have!
