[REVIEW] Mamonde Rose Moisturizing Flower Lab Essence Mask

Mamonde Rose Moisturizing Flower Lab Essence Mask Review:

The first thing I want to point out is that this new collection of masks isn’t a remake of the Flower Essence collection – they are incredibly different. And if in my previous review of this collection I thought this mask was a remake of the Rose Moisturizing Flower Essence Mask using this mask proved me oh so wrong. Regardless, I was surprised with the previous mask I tried from this collection, so of course I am very excited to write about roses too!

Claims:

+ Flower filtering care effect: with 2,000 ppm of rose extract as an ingredient, filtered 3 times, effective moisturizes the skin and absorbs well, making the skin healthier and stronger.

+ Serum type essence: clean moisture that is absorbed into the skin giving it a well moisturized care (chok chok as Koreans like to say) through this serum type essence.

+ Light fit cell (mask sheet): made out of cellulose extracted from eucalyptus and other tree pulps, the sheet is soft and effectively adheres to the skin for a long time, keeping the moisture (chok chok) and maintaining it for as long as the mask needs.

Ingredients:

Purified Water, Dipropylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-hexanediol, Phenoxyethanol, Western Rose Flower Extract (2,000 Ppm), Acrylate / C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Panthenol, Arginine, Allantoin, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Saccharide Isomerate, Ethylhexyl Glycerin, Disodium Iodide, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Hyaluronate, Fragrance, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid

Once more with these masks I have to say I love the design. And again I must say I would love it if they had a real ampoule with a really transparent bottle and real flowers inside. Ah, a girl can dream…

Anyway, off to the specifics. The top says its main function, the bottom says some characteristics like it being a soothing product, the mask sheet has a light fit, and it being a serum type essence.

For some reason it was more difficult to open than the previous mask I tried, it’s just one of those days. If it’s always as difficult as this… it’s still a relatively easy way to open this pouch and nothing to worry about, at all.

The mask didn’t get stuck inside the pouch and came out perfectly folded and beautiful. It’s not an exaggeration of essence, but you can feel right away it has enough for anyone’s taste, even though it’s not overflowing. I didn’t swatch it yet but it seems to be a gel type of essence?

The mask has a texture you can feel when you apply the mask. Although I’m not sure of the practical use of it. If it was a serum type of essence it would retain more essence, but since it feels like a gel… I don’t get it.

Anyway, the fit is quite decent. There are some wrinkles, but no piece of my skin is untouched, and the adherence is decent enough. The eye holes are just the right size for me, the mask folds a little under the chin but nothing on the forehead – which lets me know it’s a small to medium sized mask.

While it’s on it feels fresh and spring-like, very pleasant. Even before swatching I can feel the smell of flowers around me – even if it’s not a natural smell, it’s definitely the smell of roses. I absolutely love it!

And contrary to my belief in the amount of essence, 10 minutes passed and it’s drying under the nose so I’ll just apply some essence on top of it for the rest of the masking time.

It’s definitely a gel type of essence and it absorbs like a wonder! There is so much essence left in the pouch that I originally had thought of using my soothing gel afterwards, as usual, but instead I’ll just apply the rest of the gel essence from the pouch.

It smells nice of roses, and being a gel it absorbs very quickly – so no wonder my under-nose was already dry. I guess this is a mask to do on the lower end of the time spectrum, instead of like the other one on which I could leave on the longer side of the time spectrum. (what I mean is that this one is closer to the 10 minute limit, and the other was closer to the 20 minute time)

(top left before absorption, bottom left after absorption, right after the full skin care routine)

My skin was on a particularly good day today. But you can see that this hydration was really good for it! The pores are small and not deep, it’s dreamy!

I say this a lot of times, but my pores are ugly when they are dehydrated, and this mask made them beautiful.

The skin is indeed calm like they promised, in fact it feels like I came from an aroma therapy spa day. The skin is so calm, relaxed, and hydrated that one could say that this mask made my skin look brighter! The gel type essence had a soothing effect that settled more after the rest of the skin care. You can even see the difference between before-absorption and after-absorption.

There is so much essence left and I love it! If they sold this as a rose soothing gel you could count me in.

I love flowers. To me this is definitely the best flower mask – it gives the goodness of flower water, with all the scent, energy and nutrients flowers have.

I recommend it for skin that is sensitive (but not for super sensitive skin), like mine for example which is sensitive from the pollution but has no specific allergy or irritation today.

I recommend it for flower lovers! The best flower mask I have ever tried, okay?

I recommend it for dehydrated skin, and just for a masking day or night with no particular goal!
