[REVIEW] Mediheal PDF AC Dressing Ampoule Sheet Mask

Mediheal PDF AC Dressing Ampoule Sheet Mask Review:

Mediheal is one of the most well-known brands for their sheet masks. In fact, I believe, many people don’t even know they sell other products than sheet masks. I personally trust Mediheal a lot for their sheet masks, so much that I never really check what the claims and ingredients of the masks are before buying- even though I did check this time and chose this one because it contains salicylic acid which works amazingly against my acne.

Line friends are extremely popular and of course they’d end up having their own sheet masks too. If you haven’t read my reviews before, hello, I’m Stella and most of the things I buy, I buy them because they’re cute. How could I live without a sheet mask that’s THIS CUTE!! Of course, I bought it because there’s sally on the mask but I have to say that I have high expectations for it since it’s made by Mediheal.

Noteworthy ingredients:

Collagen: Tightens skin, erases fine lines and wrinkles.

Betaine: anti-irritant that retains moisture, can work against fine lines, can give superior hydration to the skin, without being sticky.

Salicylic Acid: exfoliant, removes redness and opens pores
Aloe Vera: treats skin problems of all kinds.

Centella Asiatica: anti-aging, antioxidant, anti inflammatory- basically god’s gift to us.

Volume: 27 ml

How to use:

1. After you cleanse your face, use a toner to even the skin’s texture.

2. Shortly after the toner’s been absorbed, open the mask and softly
place it on your face without leaving any air bubbles or creases (very
important).

3. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes, based on when you feel
it starts getting dryer.

4. After you take it off, tap the remaining essence gently. Following that, continue with the rest of your skincare routine that come’s after the toner part.

My Skin Type: acne prone, oily, lots of hyperpigmentation

Mediheal PDF AC Dressing Ampoule Sheet Mask Review

First things first. This mask is hella cute. Now that I’ve took the most important thing out of the way, let me get into details. The mask is one of the thickest ones I’ve ever tried; it felt very heavy and it was relatively hard to place it on my face. Thick masks do not really appeal to me but I don’t get annoyed. It’s just that I prefer the very thin ones.

Now, even though I don’t particularly like them, I have to say that this mask comes with A LOT of essence and it absorbs it perfectly. Even though the mask is packed with essence, it still, somehow, dries. Very fast. It dries in a weird way, I believe thanks to my face’s temperature; even though I don’t know if every part of the face has a different temperature. It dried entirely, except for the part that covered my forehead, that part was moist enough for me to leave it on for another 15 minutes- even though I didn’t.

The fit is relatively good, except for the part that’s next to my eyes, I have a problem with almost every mask on that area. Surprisingly, it doesn’t slip at all, it stays on the face even if I moved, except for when I talked a lot, then I had a few problems with it.

Consistency/ texture:

This mask stinks. I really can’t stand the smell. I’d describe it as a mixture of ginseng and vinegar- if that makes any sense. The essence’s consistency is a bit thick; definitely thicker than expected. I’d think it would be thinner so that it can penetrate the sheet but hey, I’m no scientist.

Results/ performance:

After taking off the mask, my face felt very sticky. I convinced myself to not rinse it and let it absorb slowly. Sadly, my skin never absorbed it; the essence just evaporated. Through the day, I ended up rinsing my face with water multiple times in order to get the heavy, sticky feeling off my face but I couldn’t until I finally double cleansed.

I went through all this stickiness, I’ll get amazing results, right? Answer: nope, unfortunately. There was literally no difference on my face. My pimples, the brightness, the feel and the texture of my skin stayed unchanged. At least for the first couple of hours.

After some time, my skin started becoming waaaay worse. I mostly suffered from texture issues. My face became like a talking carrot. Every single bump I had became taller and all of my pores larger. I also think my hyper pigmentation became redder. It’s the worst my skin has been in a while and sadly, it stayed like that for more than a week (just as I was about to get clear skinnn ugh). For the following week after using the mask, my skin felt very sensitive, to the air, to the cold and even THE SUN.

I tried using the remaining essence with my Skinfood cotton pads and I also compared it to the essence of the Innisfree BHA ampoule mask. It dried even faster while the other cotton pad was very moist. I guess this essence simply evaporates very fast. I can’t see why they’d want it to be like that, especially when it feels so thick.

Unfortunately, I put too much trust in Mediheal. I definitely got my lesson and I won’t blindly trust any brand. Of course, I won’t ever repurchase it even though it’s super cute. I don’t even want to try the rest of the line even though I was pretty excited to do so.

If you are considering to buy this mask, I’d suggest giving it a try if you have a different skin type. Almost all of the reviews on the internet say that this product is great even though I hated it. Just be cautious. I still believe that there’s way better masks out there with instant results.
