[REVIEW] Mediheal Vita Lightbeam Essential Mask EX

Mediheal Vita Lightbeam Essential Mask EX Review:

You may not know this but sheet mask is one of the many beauty product innovations originated in Korea. Allow me not talk about the convenience and joy when you use sheet mask in your skincare routine. You may also know already that the search for a decent sheet mask is as if you are lost in a maze. So many brands and so many products. Tons of them. In that case, sweetheart, you need to listen to your skin. What does it need? My skin’s need is brightening. Therefore, I only focus on masks with brightening ingredients like vitamin C, vitamin E or Niacinamide. I then discover Mediheal. They brand themselves as the sheet mask leader (sounds much credible).

Some information about the brand:

– Founded from a medical beauty school in Seoul University, Korea (oh, some science is going on here).

– Established in 2008

– By 2009, it had sold 1.6 million sheet masks. By 2011, the figure had rocketed to 10 million.

– The feature that catch my attention most: the material to make masks. They offer cellulose mask and charcoal mineral mask. This is different from an ordinary sheet mask, which is made of cotton. To be honest, the cotton sheet mask is difficult to stay evenly on my skin and the fitting is not so good. This is one of the major reason why I decided to try on Mediheal sheet masks.

After some research on the website, I decided to get me the Vita Lightbeam Essential Mask. The packaging shows 2 capsules pouring (something looks like) goodies, making me feel that my skin is treated medically and yes, they advertised that this product is dermatologically tested. Besides the mask material, I was impressed by the ingredient list, which will be listed in details further below.

+ Lightening care components such as vitamin C, tocopheryl Acetate, and γ-oryzanol will change your skin even shinier and brighter as caring dark and shady regions more intensively.

+ Use of the cellulose mask sheet with silky touch fitting even your fine wrinkles aids intensive care and delivers the efficacy of the high-concentrated essence more mildly.

Mediheal Vita Lightbeam Essential Mask EX Review:

I have finished all 10 masks I got from the store. What a pity I did not keep the box. Here is my detailed review, which breaks down to 4 main impressions: packaging, mask material, ingredient analysis and product efficacy.

Mediheal always showed the effort to innovate the products and diversify the appearance to catch attention from the customers. Hence, the packaging itself is different and helps make the product stand out from others in the market. I really like the implication of the 2 pills on top of the packaging: your skin is under treatment from professionals.

Mask material:

You can tell from my demonstration below how the mask fits well into your skin. Once you apply the mask on your face, it can be easily modified to fit your face shape. I hardly could find any mask that can cover my face that well.

The material itself is somehow silky and is difficult to be torn apart. Moreover, I believe this kind of material will make sure the essence stay still and do not drop off your face down to your neck (a common thing happens when you use ordinary cotton mask).

Ingredient analysis:

In cosdna terms, this is one (super) skin-friendly ingredient list. If you follow the sheet mask trend and is nerdy about the ingredient list, you may notice that manufacturers are gradually removing alcohol denat – the ingredient that dries out your skin – out of the list.

However, by taking further analysis, I think I should not expect this mask would improve my skin tone significantly. You see, the first 6 ingredients of the list all deal with moisturize and give your skin extra water. Next, you can see panthenol , or vitamin B5, which helps soothe your irritated skin.

Essence amount:

Just enough for single use. Remember to make sure all essence in the package is squeezed out and apply them after you put the mask on your face.

Product efficacy:

Through my personal experience, the product efficacy speaks well in accordance with its ingredient list. I remember one time I introduced a new cleanser to my skincare routine and I realized it might be quite harsh to the skin. My skin felt itchy and irritating. I decided to turn to this mask to calm my skin. IT WORKS. FOR REAL, GIRL.

There are no words that could describe the my happiness since I made one correct decision to soothe my skin. It was as if the mask spoke to me, “Don’t worry, girl. I got this.” During the 20 minutes using the mask, the irritating sensation completely disappeared. After the application, I removed the mask, tapped on my face for better absorption, and wiped out the residue with warm cloth. There you go. The skin barrier was brought back to its initial state.

In addition, after 1 month using all 10 masks, I realized my skin tone has not improved much. Pigmentation was still there. I guess it just work well as a soothing mask. Maybe I need to use more to get the claimed effect. I am happy with it anyway.

Imagine with that affordable price point, you’ve got a guaranteed soothing mask with no aggressive ingredients and the mask fitting is perfect. Experience upon using the mask is just as you are at some professional spa. What more could you ask for?

I would totally repurchase this because of its guaranteed soothing effect (haha, I will keep talking about this feature if you ask my opinion on this product).
