[Review] New 2017 Milky Dress Barbie Make Color Pop Tint in Flower Pink

Milky Dress Barbie Make Color Pop Tint in Flower Pink Review:

This is one of those makeup products that was voted as a must have item in the popular TV show Get It Beauty. It also appeared in the Beauty Plus TV show, season 2, as a “even I can do it (that makeup)” type of item. After knowing all these how can I stop myself from buying it?

Maintains the lips’ plump look like magic. You can use it as a gradiation or a full lip look. You can use it on your lips or as a blusher. It’s really comfortable to use with a bright color. Mantains the lips’ hydration and keeps your lips soft and lively. Has a long longetivety and mantains its’ look even after 6 hours.

The Flower Pink color can be used for both warm and cool skin tones.

This product looks incredibly chic since they redesigned the packaging. Honestly it reminds me (a lot, maybe too much) of the YSL lip tints and that’s why it looks so fancy to me, but regardless it’s a pretty pleasant design.

The applicator brush is full of product, even if you rub it out on the side of the bottle it doesn’t seem to go away. However, if you just use the tip of the brush you can spread the product to your liking (if you want a light layer of color), or you can use the actual base of the brush to get a quick full lip look.

The brush either has a hole in the centre, or at least a dimple. I have no idea what the purpose of it is, and I can’t tell for sure even after applying the product what that hole or dimple actually is. But a lot of tints and liquid lipsticks have this type of brush so do tell me if you know.

You can see here a simple 2 layer application. The color is very vivid and the tint is very creamy.

You can see here how it looks when used as a blush. You can even apply less color than I did and then build it up to your liking.

But how does the lip tint perform?

It applies easily and evenly (no lumps of color). After it dries on the lips it doesn’t dehydrate them and it adheres to them like a magnet. After drying, it doesn’t transfer easily to other items (straws, mugs, etc – I’m sure it’ll transfer to a white shirt but I don’t want to try it).

So, after it dries it stays a very long time on the lips. But only if you let it dry completely before doing anything else on or with your lips (like more lipstick, eating or drinking).

I’ll describe it better. After I applied this in my morning makeup (at 9) I went to school so it had almost 1h to dry completely (needless to say, eat breakfast, it’s unhealthy if you don’t, I eat before I do my makeup). Almost at the end of the trip it was completely dry and I applied lip balm then, and repeatedly all through the day.

I only had to reapply the lip tint at around 4pm, and let it dry again! But I did commit the mistake of not letting it dry completely once before drinking a latte, and another mistake of applying it on top of lip balm (who does that anyway??) and of course the color “went away”.

The downside is that it does take around 30 minutes (on my lips) to dry completely and lose all the stickiness so that we can move on with our lives. And, of course, it is a tint so a few seconds on your skin or lips is enough to stain it.

The upside is that it still gives you a lot of maneuver. Not only it sticks to my lips for a long time, I can do a colored gradation with it before it dries and then I know it will stay like that during the day (especially if I use more of the same brand).

What about the scent? Well, there is some, but it’s so weak I didn’t notice. It doesn’t smell like your normal lipstick or makeup product (you know, comparing to MAC or l’Oreal). And also, it has 1/4th of the intensity of your normal lipstick, almost unnoticeable. Those with sensitive noses can feel the smell of unscented products. Smell that. Multiply by 2. Make it a little bit more irony and less “what is this”. that’s how this smells!

My lips are quite dark, and a light color looking this bright is very unusual!

The color is very impressive. To me, it’s what we call in Portugal a Watermelon color. Which is a sort of washed out red that reminisces of summer. In this specific case it also reminds me of spring!

I fell in love with this lipstick, and other than those products I buy for the package (like Pokemon, hehe) I only buy makeup that I feel is of really good quality (exceptions for things I know I won’t use much but you get the drill). So far my only lipsticks that I actually repurchsed are MAC, Shu Uemura, and Bbia, and now I’m definitely adding this brand to my list of great quality lipsticks.
