[REVIEW] New 2018 Missha Bee Pollen Renew Sheet Mask

Missha Bee Pollen Renew Sheet Mask was purchased by Cosmeperks.

I literally got my hands on this mask the day I heard about it, and used it the next day. My skin loves honey and related stuff, and I feel that Missha is a very appropriate brand for my skin in general, as it focuses on things that my skin really needs (what I mean is, generally it’s for not teenage skin). I was really excited, and trying this mask made me happy. Also, spoiler alert, now I want to try everything else from the collection.

The design is really simple but it has such elegance! You can’t see it unless you pay attention, with the right light in the right angle, but if you look carefully there’s small cute little hives and it makes it so much more elegant! Very classy.

The pouch is thick and covered in plastic on the inside, and it opens fairly easily. The advantage that it has, to me, is that you can remove the opening stripe until the end in one go and so there is no flapper bothering me when I want to remove the mask and the rest of the essence.

The mask sheet is completely soaked, slightly yellow (the mask itself, not the essence), it’s like it’s overflowing in essence really.

The mask sheet is so soft to the touch, and it’s fairly heavy and droopy – because it’s so light you would expect something as heavy as air.

The adherence is average, I feel that the mask can drop any moment because there’s so much essence between it and my face, but the fit is amazing.

The cellulose they used is so soft that it makes the mask 98% flat even on a face like mine (if you ever saw any of my other mask reviews then you know what I mean).

And one more time, I can’t emphasize enough, how soft and flat textured this mask sheet is.

Anyway, my skin has been sensitive and I had a very aggressive pimple on my forehead the whole day, but this mask hurt me zero, nada, rien. I swear, it didn’t hurt at all, even on my skin that has been quite sensitive. And while I have it on, my skin feels fresh, happy, and relaxed! So, even if results are underwhelming, at least it’s a spa night mask.

It smells okay, I wouldn’t say that it’s anything magical but it is a decent smell. I don’t know exactly what it smells like. I can tell you it smells flowery, but that’s not all there is to it. The same depth honey has, this smell also has – but not really sweet or exactly a honey smell either. More like… a flower nectar?

The essence is very liquid even though it’s so intense. It just slides down my arm as if I didn’t have a picture to take!

It’s relatively white when gathered in a big amount, but it’s very much transparent once it spreads thin. It also reminds me of salty tears, they are white like this.

The essence is very sticky in texture, and it does the snot string. It’s a new fashion in Korea that all masks, preferably all products should snot string in order to show how good they are for your skin.

It shows elasticity.

I’m sorry for calling it snot string but before only snail based products had this type of texture so it kind of reminds me of snail mucus…

Anyway, back to reviewing, it does have that texture but WAY LESS than other recent masks I tried (like the Mamonde one for example).

Although it does feel sticky on the arm, stickier than said mask did. In fact it feels really sticky, in a not gross way. Like… honey, it’s sticky like honey.

This essence left in the pouch is almost enough for a second mask, and definitely enough for a neck mask.

Now the true results!

My skin looks (and feels) super nourished and with maximum moisture (in a non-oily way), without lacking hydration, which means all the hydration from my toner and soothing gel are completely locked into the skin.

I do feel that my skin is full of renewed vitality! And I feel like there’s a protective layer in the same way a sleeping mask provides on our lips.

Even when I applied the rest of my skin care my skin texture felt so much better than before the mask. My skin feels… flat, soft, textureless? Like the mask imprinted on it. I love it!

It’s a very rich mask so those who like light stuff should skip it, but anyone who likes the richness of bee pollen should give this a try.

I recommend it for skin that is not oily, that lacks vitality, nourishment or moisture, elasticity, and that has a strong skin texture.

In other words I recommend it for my skin! Or anyone with any of the above conditions as long as you like rich masks and your skin isn’t super oily.

Honestly my T-zone doesn’t feel oily at all but I would still not risk it for a fully oily skin type, unless you have used rich honey products like the Skinfood Royal Honey Propolis collection or the Innisfree Canola Honey Serum for example.
