Missha M BB Boomer Review:
When I dove into the makeup world of Asian beauty products and bought my first BB cream from Missha, I came across this product soon after. It was a highly recommended product due to its ability to “boost” BB creams applied on top of it – it could make any undertone of a BB cream look less yellow, gray, etc. In other words, it would make your skin tone appear more lively! It sounded like such an interesting product that I just had to try it.
This product helps provide a smooth skin surface before your makeup application, but it also has some functions that go beyond your usual primer:
- Boost adherence and wear of your BB cream
- Provide brightening effects
- Provide wrinkle care
- Make your skin appear “radiant” through its pearl ingredients
Another thing worth noting is that it includes Titanium Dioxide, so it also gives your skin some more protection from the sun, but it isn’t advertised as some form of sunscreen due to its probable minimal amount. Still though, I was quite happy when I realized it had this ingredient because you can’t go wrong with more protection.
Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclohexasiloxane, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Mica (CI 77019), PEG-10 Dimethicone, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Niacinamide, Pentylene Glycol, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Diamond Powder, Moringa Oleifera Seed Oil, Ruby Powder, Amethyst Powder, Pearl Powder, Tourmaline, Chrysanthemum Morifolium Flower Extract, Jasminum Officinale (Jasmine) Extract, Platinum Powder, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Magnesium Sulfate, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Ethylhexyl Glycerin, Acrylates/Dimethicone Copolymer, Adenosine, Mannan, Squalane, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Tocopherol, Talc, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance(Parfum)
Because such a small amount is needed to cover your entire face, this product is capable of lasting about as long as its best paired-with product, the Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream, which can be as many as five months of daily usage.
How to Use:
1. Dispense 2-3 drops (or more if desired) and use the tips of your fingers to rub it in, as you would with a moisturizer.
2. Pat skin lightly to increase absorption.

Missha M BB Boomer Review:
A quick google search proves that this product is loved by all, and for some great reasons. First off, this is meant to be a primer, but it could easily be used as a light moisturizer for daytime usage. Secondly, it’s also meant to be used underneath your BB cream, but it can be used alone, too!
Its finish makes your skin radiant due to its subtle pink shimmer that can be seen in the sunlight. It seems to liven up usually dull-looking skin. Last, but not least, this primer is not like usual primers; it isn’t overly silicone-like, so it doesn’t clog your pores (something that always worried me about using primers in the past).
I think some people may be wary when they read about its “pink shimmer,” because let’s be honest: who wants a pink face if you already have to deal with facial redness? I want to clarify here – as a person with redness in the cheeks and wherever my acne decides to rear its ugly head, this product absolutely does not contribute to any such redness.
In fact, because the cream itself is somewhat milky-looking, it seems to cover the redness I experience. The pink shimmer is so subtle it can only be seen in direct sunlight, and only if somebody was really looking for it. A better way to describe the appearance of this product would be to say it gives your skin a subtle glow – and a beautiful one, at that.
I’ve used this product for over a year now and have repurchased it because I enjoy it so much. Its scent has a hint of something floral to it, but also smells similarly to baby powder. In other words, it smells fresh and feminine. (Its packaging is cute, too, for its baby pink color.)
It features an airless pump, keeping the product from becoming contaminated or allowing any of its ingredients’ effectiveness to break down due to oxygen exposure.
The formulation of this product is quite impressive, too. It features some interesting ingredients:
- Moringa Oil (Patented), which hydrates and protects your skin from environmental factors
- Mannan, a moisturizing agent that also quickly absorbs and smooths your skin
- Niacinamide, a very effective skin-brightening ingredient
- Squalene, which aids in moisture retention and improves your skin’s health
I think the addition of niacinamide is my favorite, because with regular use, I do notice that my post-acne scars fade quicker and my skin tone appears more even, making this product ideal for acne-prone skin types (which also tend to be on the oily side).
Yet because it also features the moringa oil and squalene, I think this product would also work well for those with dry skin types. This primer doesn’t make my skin look oily, and on days when I have dry skin, it also doesn’t accentuate my flakes – it simply does what every primer should aspire to actually do: provide a smooth canvas for makeup application!
For all of these reasons, I definitely foresee myself buying this product for the third time once I run out again. 5/5.
