[REVIEW] Missha Near Skin Phyto Azulen Cream

Missha Near Skin Phyto Azulen Cream Review:

I tested these products (this cream and it’s two sisters Madecenol and Ceramide creams) in the store as soon as they came out and by that one touch I could tell right away they are all highly moisturizing creams. They also all have different focuses, and this one focuses in long term (day long) reducing of the skin temperature while being appropriate for sensitive and dry skin, or skin that needs special care.

But what is Near Skin? It’s one of the Missha collections, however it’s almost like a sub-brand of Missha since Missha’s name doesn’t even appear on the packagings of these products. Near Skin focuses on derma cosmetics, so if you would like to try Missha products to deal with specific skin troubles this is the collection you should be looking at.

Effectively calms the skin and lowers its temperature. Made out of natural ingredients, including guaiazulene and blue camomile complex. No added artificial fragrance, low irritation system, and works well on damaged skin.

All Missha products are not tested on animals. But a nice extra point going for Missha is that they publicly claim to be against animal testing.

Also this package, for once, has the exact same information in English and Korean! Thank you for not making me read those endless Korean texts.

I know it’s useless but I thought it was cute, the product size is the exact size of the picture on the outside. It’s just cute okay.

Speaking of design, I want to add that these products really look like medical products, design wise they really accomplished what they aimed for!

This is the lid. We have all seen these ones, several times on our medicine – and sometimes on some skin products. That small opening point is a very satisfying moment…

Which we do not have. This cream has the pointy lid but nothing to pierce. Not even a silver cover. However you can rest assured that that is the way it was meant to be.

If you look carefully at the cream exit, it never had any cream come out of it, or the hole would be covered. These “metal” cream tubes don’t gain their shape again after being squeezed, so if someone had pressed he cream out the exit would now be completely covered in cream.

Pardon my red lip tint stain on my hand.

The cream is dense but spreads easily. I didn’t feel any smell after much usage, so I will actually state there is no smell to this product.

The cream absorbs into the skin leaving it “fluffy” and nourished. Now, as you know I have combination skin with two opposite extremes.

This cream is amazing for my U zone, perfect, and actually normal on my T zone – it doesn’t make it any worse than any other cream I have (except one specific cream).

I used it as a day cream and then as a night cream.

As a day cream I always had to apply a sebum powder or a soothing gel (for the same purpose) – but that happens more often than not with any cream I apply.

As a night cream it was perfect. Especially when I use a sleeping mask I can feel this nourishment digging deep into the troubles of my skin and protecting it the whole night.

I decided to use it as a night cream, and use another cream during the day since I already had it opened and the true magic of this one happens at night.

It claims to lower the skin temperature, is it true? You can’t feel it just by itself, not right away anyway. You feel some difference if there is any breeze around, your facial skin will get fresher faster than your body.

One of the reasons why I love this cream at night is 1) there is no breeze during the day and I’m mostly under an air conditioner anyway 2) at night this cream actually prevents me from overheating and from having to turn on the air conditioner! During the night I don’t feel heat on my face nor any discomfort.

However I have to say that the cooling effect is, overall, small – compared to what they say on their website. It is there, though, and if properly used then the cream can help you.

I liked this cream because it keeps the promises of caring and nourishing 100% on my very sensitive skin. No breakouts, no abnormal sebum. It helps cooling during the night.

And at its very affordable price I place it on my top list for creams, because this quality could be sold at 25$ and I would understand and accept it as a fair price. Not to mention it’s not a small tube either.
