[Review] Missha The Style Fitting Wear Sebum Cut Pressed Powder Clear Mint (01)

Missha The Style Fitting Wear Sebum Cut Pressed Powder Clear Mint (01) Review:

I found this product after lots of searching because my old favorite pressed powder had been discontinued and I needed something that would eliminate my shiny skin issue. This product comes in two different shades, one being the “clear mint” for red, dull-looking skin while the other being “clear peach” for yellow, dull-looking skin. I bought the “clear mint” one because I have redness that seems to start around my nose and radiate outward onto my cheeks. I also deal with acne often, so redness is one of my main concerns.

This product is said to be recommended for…

– Those looking for a translucent powder that feels natural on skin.
– Those whose makeup tends to wear off quickly as a result of oily skin.
– Those looking for a lightweight makeup product.

It also claims to provide the following:

  • Superior Adherence
Honey and Coconut extract-infused Boron Powder allows for superior adherence and a clean finish.
  • Lightweight Makeup
Doesn’t cake or get heavy, even with frequent reapplication.
  • 3. Color Control Based on Desired Skin Tone
Mint and Peach shades offer skin tone control.

I liked the idea that this product claimed that it would not get cakey despite frequent application, because oftentimes I do find this can be an issue when using a lot of powder on the skin to eliminate shininess.

Missha The Style Fitting Wear Sebum Cut Pressed Powder Clear Mint (01) Review:

I have purchased this product at least three times so far because it is so amazing. Taking a look at the ingredient list first, we can see multiple notable ingredients:

  • Squalene, which helps seal in moisture and provides a barrier between your skin and environmental detriments like pollution.
  • Honey Extract, which heals the skin and provides anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties (which makes this product great for those with acne issues).
  • Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Fruit Extract, which heals, brightens the skin, and keeps your makeup from becoming dark/oxidizing.

I think some people may be put off by the coconut extract, but the truth is unless you have a serious allergy or sensitivity to coconut, this product will not give you any problems that only pure coconut oil seems to do (such as pore clogging, additional shininess, etc.). I personally have not experienced any adverse effects from using this product despite its coconut extract component and despite the fact that I am acne-prone.

When I first bought this powder, I could not help but think I would use it up quickly because it looked like such a small amount – much smaller than I was accustomed to, anyway. But to my surprise, this product lasts me six whole months of daily usage. I also felt as though I did not need to load it onto my skin because it worked so well, so this may have something to do it with it as well. A little goes a long way.

Simply put, I am in love with this product. It goes on lightly and is easy to apply. There is absolutely no scent, making it a great product to those who are sensitive to fragrances. Since I got the “clear mint” color, I can see that it effectively makes my red spots less noticeable.

The mint color is not as green as most “mint” types go, so you never have to worry about it not blending well and making your skin appear green. And despite having an oily face, I do not have to put a lot of this product on because it also delivers amazingly in terms of controlling shine.

On days where I am extra shiny though, I can use as much as I like without any caking, which is absolutely amazingThe accompanying puff is soft and flexible. It picks up a decent amount of product and applies the product well. However, I do find that the powder will seem to “cling” to the puff after about a week’s amount of usage, so it is important to clean the puff regularly.

I would highly recommend this product to those with oily or combo skin, but I do think people who experience severe dryness or flaking might have issues with this product only because it does seem to accentuate the look of flakes.

That being said, I think this issue could probably be mitigated through exfoliation and adequate hydration beforehand.

In my eyes, this product is a solid 5/5 and I will continue to purchase it in the future because it has become a staple in my daily makeup routine.
