[REVIEW] MIZON Water Volume EX First Essence Hydra Tox

MIZON Water Volume EX First Essence Hydra Tox Review:

A quite long product name, isn’t it? Well, the long name clearly states this product’s focus on moisturizing while having watery texture. Personally, I didn’t pay any attention to this product’s full name before buying it. Since this MIZON Water Volume EX First Essence Hydra Tox was on sale while I was window-online-shopping and I ran out of my previous first essence, Secret Key Starting Treatment Essence, I decided to buy this without thinking twice. Typically a woman, really. Tee-hee. It was only after the first usage that I read this product’s claim, which indirectly targets the dry-skin bearers. Oops, did I just make a wrong choice?

Water Volume EX Line provides powerful hydration to resolve the essential causes of dryness.

MIZON Water Volume EX First Essence Hydra Tox Review:

MIZON Water Volume EX First Essence Hydra Tox is placed in a simple, cylinder-shaped, transparent-but-hazy plastic bottle. On its secondary packaging, light blue and white-colored box, full information about the product is written, which obviously couldn’t be found on the bottle.

MIZON Water Volume EX First Essence Hydra Tox Review

Just like any other first essence products, MIZON Water Volume EX First Essence Hydra Tox has an output hole sealed by an additional closure to prevent leakage or spilling out. For the color and texture, it is stated that this product is ‘water volume’ and ‘water full liquid’, so it’s normal to expect a watery consistency and colorless appearance.

However, the smell feature isn’t the same, by the reason of its slight scent albeit wasn’t irritating nor lingering too long after being applied. Redoxon Vitamin C Effervescent Tablet comes to my mind, if I were to describe the scent. Slightly acidic, maybe.

Apparently the moisturizing power of MIZON Water Volume EX First Essence Hydra Tox was powerful, yes it did ‘resolve the essential cause of dryness’. Once the product was applied to my skin, I could instantly feel the difference. My skin felt moisturized and plump at once, in the terms of not making it heavy or greasy.

As an oily-skin bearer, I must say that the effect was somehow satisfying, but it seemed that I couldn’t combine this with other moisturizing products. As I was using ELIZAVECCA CF-Nest 97% B-jo Serum (which was a lightweight serum) and PINK by Pure Beauty – so smooth Pudding Cream (which was a gel-cream), the finishing result was nice and pleasant.

In my personal opinion, MIZON Water Volume EX First Essence Hydra Tox would be more suitable for a dry-skin bearer, since the effect was quite significant and palpable. As I explained before, an oily-skin bearer would have to shrewdly combine the products while including this product into one’s skincare routines.

According to CosDNA, there’s BHT component that shows high score of safety risk, so I rambled around some sources to find out more about this. I only ever heard BHT as food preservatives, but apparently a large dose of this component could harm people’s health and be carcinogenic.

EWG Website states that BHT in cosmetics is used as antioxidant, preservatives, and fragrance. However, I rarely find BHT in any other skincare products so I guess it’s still safe to see this component in MIZON’s ingredient list.
