My Beauty Diary Apple Polyphenol Mask Sheet Review:
I love apples. I love its smell as well as its flavour, and my dog goes cray for it too – not forgetting the fact that apples have tons of nutritional value and is good for the skin as well! When I saw this box of My Beauty Diary Apple Polyphenol sheet masks selling at my local Guardian, I just had to get my grubby hands on it!
I have mentioned the benefits of apples in one of my previous reviews, so I shan’t touch on it here. Nevertheless, I can’t emphasize enough how awesome apple is, both for the body and for the skin. I am also a fan of natural flavours in beauty products such as Jeju flowers, green tea, cactus, and ginseng, so I was hoping this would give my skin great benefits as well!
-I talked about MBD’s triple action formula of Aquaroad x Tinysome x Cosphingo. I’m unsure if this is the older version, but it only contains Cosphingo (seals in the effective ingredients to provide long-lasting moisture) x Aquaroad (activates skin’s moisture absorption channel).
-Nonetheless, this claims to tighten pores as apply polyphenol (7th ingredient) is enriched with vitamins and also has purifying properties in order to improve the skin’s oil-water balance and minimise the appearance of pores.
-At the same time, lemon (6th ingredient), Arnica montana (15th ingredient), and Chinese witch hazel (26th ingredient) helps to soften and soothe the skin. It normalises the sebum production so as to maintain our skin’s pH-balance and to give a more refined complexion.
-It claims to brighten and clarify as well, through Roselle extract, which is a hibiscus species native to West Africa (27th ingredient).
-Other notable ingredients such as aloe vera (5th ingredient) and soy protein (28th ingredient) helps in hydrating the skin for a natural and healthy glow.

My Beauty Diary Apple Polyphenol Mask Sheet Review:
MBD is my favourite brand of sheet masks so I may be biased but you’ve got to admit, their packaging designs are always freaking cute, albeit simple. The packaging is simple and easy to open. I detected a faint apple fragrance, it smelt fresh and light and was not strong at all.
The sheet mask is on the thin and light side, and it also felt smooth to the touch. It was dripping with essence when I took it out of the packet. I took the pearlescent film out and applied the sheet mask to my face. Adherence was great, and the fit was alright.
Because the mask was thin, it felt comfortable on my face. The only gripe I had about it was regarding the nose area. I don’t know if I positioned the sheet mask correctly or perhaps I have a huge nose, but the bottom nose area was not completely covered, leaving it exposed and not able to enjoy the apply polyphenol goodness.
MBD is always super generous with their essence! Look how much there is still left in the packet! I typically keep the leftover essence in the refrigerator and reapply it on my sheet mask after about 30 minutes. The essence is transparent and clear and reapplying it on my face allowed for an additional 15 minutes of masking.
After taking off the sheet mask, I noticed that my skin was well-hydrated. My skin was also brightened and I felt that my pore size had decreased. I was preoccupied with doing something else so I forgot to pat the essence in ☹
However, after about 10 minutes, the essence was completely absorbed. I gently patted and then proceeded with my usual skincare routine sans moisturiser. I used this sheet mask in the day and was not planning on going out so my solution and my CosRx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence was sufficient to seal in the moisture, especially because I live in a humid country.
I don’t know what’s wrong with my skin recently, but I had a few random breakouts. I suspect it’s because of my diet. I haven’t been eating clean recently, and it reflected on my skin. Unlucky me! My pimples did not reduce in size but it did calm my skin and evened out my skin texture.
I have used this mask numerous times with positive results. This time around, perhaps my skin was too oily to be tamed. The finish was slightly tacky but other than that, I experienced a reduction in pore size as well as brightening effects!
This mask did not break me out – which is an important factor to me. My oil production was also controlled. Although I felt that the finish was slightly tacky, because of its effects on my complexion, I feel that this can be used both in the day and at night. In the day, it can be used before makeup application for a fresh and beautiful you!
I am quite satisfied with this product. I mean, look how bright my skin became!! The effects lasted for 12 to 15 hours. Even though it was unable to tame those wild pimples, I love it for its pore and complexion benefits. I would recommend this to all skin types as continued usage would definitely yield wonderful results.
