[REVIEW] NACIFIC Fresh Herb Origin Sunblock Calendula SPF50+ PA++++

NACIFIC Fresh Herb Origin Sunblock Calendula SPF50+ PA++++ Review:

I was running out of my old Innisfree Daily UV Protection Cream No Sebum Sunblock when I ran into this NACIFIC Fresh Herb Origin Sun Block Calendula SPF50+ PA++++. The brand NACIFIC, previously known as Natural Pacific, is famous for its hyped Fresh Herb Origin Serum, and it also claims to use natural ingredients on all their products. Thus, I was intrigued to try this one; does this product do well just like its ‘cousin’ from the same brand?

1. Quick absorbing and comfortable to wear. A sunscreen with powerful broad spectrum protects skin from free radical damages without leaving any white cast.

2. Formulated with extracts of lavender, chestnut, green tea and cranberry, it helps regulates sebum production and minimizes appearances of pores.

3. Patent ingredient Sepicalm and white water lily extracts combat aging signs while enhancing skin elasticity.

NACIFIC Fresh Herb Origin Sunblock Calendula SPF50+ PA++++ Review:

The Fresh Herb Origin Sunblock Calendula SPF50+ PA++++ comes with a yellow, thin paper box. The box doesn’t have any pictures on it and very simple, the only decoration it has is some protruding, float-to-the-surface flower figures (which I reckon to be calendula flowers) on the front side. Most information on the box is in Hangul, except the ingredients, so I have to translate it using Google Translate.

The ingredients analysis by cosDNA shows safety index rating of 1-6. The highest safety index is BHT which marks 6 as preservative, but as far as I know, BHT is usually used as food preservative, so I think it is safe to be applied on the skin.

The sunblock itself packed in a white tube and, just like the box, very simple-looking. It has a flip-flop cap and the tube itself is quite tall, despite the products only fill roughly ¾ of the tube.

The output hole is placed in a concave area. I find this uncomfortable since it can be quite messy when you squeeze out the products and close the cap immediately. There will be leftover products on the concave area, and closing the cap will make it looked gross. If you don’t like having your skincare product gets soiled (like me), you will need more time when using this product because you have to spare time cleaning the leftover products on the concave area.

The cream is white-colored and has has sweet citrus-y aroma, but disappears after applying. Despite its thick consistency, it spreads easily on the skin. It doesn’t leave white cast and dries down quickly. I have normal skin with oily T-zone. It leaves a dewy finish, but it doesn’t make my skin any oilier. Instead, my skin feels moisturized all day. It also has SPF50+ and PA++++ so I don’t have to worry about getting sunburned.

I have been using this product for 2 months with daily usage before I make sure how I feel about this product. It does some of its claims (no white cast, dries down quickly, and enhancing skin elasticity), but I don’t notice the other (regulates sebum production and minimizes appearances of pores).

While this product doesn’t make my skin oily like my old sunblock, I don’t feel it can control my sebum production. I also don’t notice any differences on my pores. Other than that, the only downside is the messy placement of the output hole.

Overall, this is a decent sunblock especially considering its price.
