[REVIEW] Naruko AMPM Total Brightening Renewal Treatment Mandelic Acid 5%

Naruko AMPM Total Brightening Renewal Treatment Mandelic Acid 5% Review:

Ah, I remember I was still a newbie in skincare when I first purchased this product. After ditching those pesky physical scrubs, strengthening my basic routine and used (and also got bored of) konjac sponge, I decided to jump into the world of chemical exfoliations.

Of course, before jumping in, I read a lot of stuff. I wanted to try AHA first to get rid of my acne scars and to brighten my complexion and all the other stuff AHA is supposed to do. After reading and researching a lot about AHA, I decided to try mandelic acid as it is considered suitable for a newbie like me. And after further research, I found this product, AMPM Total Brightening Renewal Treatment Mandelic Acid 5% and it is easy to get at the nearby drugstore in my area. I kinda don’t want to wait which is why I decided not to buy it online, haha.

Naruko AMPM Total Brightening Renewal Treatment Mandelic Acid 5% Review:

I was very careful in using this product as I was a newbie. I used this once a week for about 4-5 weeks before slightly increasing the usage to 2 times a week for 3 weeks and finally settling on 2-3 times a week.

I had a slight purging the first time using this product, but it was normal and went away after about 3 weeks. But honestly, the purging wasn’t that bad. Only a few acne popped up so I was all fine with it.

I don’t like the smell. Haha. It smells… I’m not sure how to describe it, medicine-y I guess? But it’s all good as the smell went away instantly.

The bottle is a dropper type which I’m kinda meh… but still OK for me as long as it helps me keeping it hygienic. I would prefer a pump bottle but while using this I have no spilling problem or dripping issue so all is good.

The texture is a bit thicker than water. At first it feels oily but after a while the oily feeling is all gone. It absorbs fast into my skin and does not leave any sticky residue or oily feeling. My skin feels gentle and soft after each usage and I absolutely love it! I had to try stopping myself from touching and caressing my face from time to time.

After using this product, I noticed my skin gets brighter and my face feels soft. As for my acne scars, it took a while but this product also helps in reducing them. I honestly didn’t expect much from this product as long as it does its job properly then I’m fine with it.

This might be the newbie talking but I really like this product. It also does not dry up my skin, instead my skin kinda feels moisturized after each usage. It’s gentle to my skin and just perfect for a chemical exfoliation newbie like me.

I would really recommend this to any chemical exfoliation newbie as this product is gentle yet effective (unless you have any allergies to any ingredients in this, then I don’t recommend this product). It helped me a lot and while using this, I find myself not missing the physical scrub anymore as this is just as effective in removing the dead skin and clearing my face.

I would rate this mandelic acid serum 4/5.  Will I repurchase? No, as I want to use stronger chemical exfoliators further. But I would still recommend this to newbies.
