I was rummaging my stash the other day looking for a light mask –something that is refreshing and soothing; then I saw this lovely box of Naruko Rose Botanic Mask. Hmm… Roses, okay! Naruko Rose Botanic HA Aqua Cubic Hydrating Mask EX Review:

Just like other Taiwanese masks that I have used, Naruko Rose Botanic HA Aqua Cubic Hydrating has backing (plastic). The perforated film is the one you should remove before applying the mask on your face. The thin mask is soaked in a watery, heavily scented essence!

Naruko Rose Botanic HA Aqua Cubic Hydrating Mask EX Review

Texture-wise –it is light, non-greasy essence and feels smooth on skin so it is really promising. What I do not like, however, is the scent. I love floral scents in general –the young and fresh kind. Unfortunately, rose scent doesn’t fall on the young and fresh category of my book. (Rest assured though, that I would be as fair as I can in making this review)☺; if anything, I just don’t like the scent of this mask. Truth be told, I was disappointed with the scent because it was just way too strong for my liking. It was so heavy — it is as if I am sniffing granny (no offense) that I find it a bit dizzying and I am not exaggerating.

I usually let sheets sit on my face until its dry but I took this one off at 15 minutes mark. As expected, the sheet was still damp. Surprisingly, however, as I removed the sheet, I didn’t see any essence sitting atop my face. I didn’t have the need to massage my face just to let my skin absorb the essence.

I am not going to lie; I was impressed on how fast its essence was absorbed by my skin. I don’t know about radiant glow or brightening but my face did look plump and healthy. The moisturizing property of this mask seems to work well with my skin; too much and I get really oily, too little and it feels like it did nothing on my skin so I appreciate it well whenever I find mask that are of just “right” for my skin

Overall, Naruko Rose Botanic HA Aqua Cubic Hydrating Mask EX is a decent mask to try but personally, I won’t be repurchasing it. I may not even be able to finish my box because I was so bothered by the scent. On a side note, this mask didn’t break me out so that’s a +1. I am also happy that it does exactly what it claims. At least it did well in terms of hydrating or they should have changed the mask’s name☺

  1. The packaging is so beautiful it almost lets you smell the roses through the computer screen! Do you know if the brand sells individual packs or just box bundles? Because of the scent, I want to try it but I don’t want to risk too much
    Loved the review, thank you♡

  2. TBH, I was pretty sold on packaging alone! Local Watsons sells them per piece, actually, but a little bit steep if you get them by the box. This mask is pretty nice, the only thing I don’t like is the scent. If you like rose scent in general then you would probably love this!
