Nature Republic Cushion CC Natural SPF 35 PA++ Review:
I received this product in a beauty box, as Nature Republic releases them from time to time. Honestly I never meant to try this product, I got the box because of a different one! And so this was just sitting in my closet for a relatively long time. But now that the season is changing it’s time to match not only the skin care but the base makeup to the weather changes, so we have to see what we have in our closet (or drawer, or cabinet, or box) and play with those things.
Recently I tried the IOPE and the Labiotte new cushions, and now I’m trying this one. Of course I don’t have for this one the same expectations as for the other two, but since I wear cushions daily it does need a certain level if I decide to keep this in my stash, no?
Cushion CC Natural makes the skin moisturized, bright, and clear with each application. Excellent moisturizing ingredients: morocco argan oil.
Functional cosmetic : whitening, wrinkle improvement. Powerful UV protection.

Nature Republic Cushion CC Natural SPF 35 PA++ Review:
This box comes with one cushion box and two refills, thus the extremely big box size.
I inserted one of the refills in the box and each refill comes with its own puff and cushion protection.
Honestly, the design is so simple it’s more enjoyable than most!
It peels off cleanly and with no trouble.
The puff is thinner and a little less fluffy than the one I’m using for comparison in this photo (one from The Face Shop). Honestly, I thought I wouldn’t like this puff, but I’ll get to that later.
At first press I can feel that the cushion is way too harder than most cushions, and it’s incredibly full of product. And this explains why the puff is harder. I tried both puffs from the previous photo and I have to admit that the puff that came with this cushion is by far more appropriate.
The scent is difficult to explain. It’s pleasant, but a little too strong for sensitive noses (as strong as the IOPE cushion). It smells like a cosmetic for beach use (beach products such as sun cream, hair mists, etc have a specific characteristic smell).
It also smells at the same time like a fake flower scent. And the only thing that bothers me is that in the cushion you can also feel the plastic scent, but you don’t feel that unless you stick your nose in the box.
Here you can see the with and without the cushion. The coverage is very average, but it conceals the pores. However, it is a natural coverage they claim, and they comply.
The coverage lets show a little of the skin imperfections, even a little of my nose freckles, and that’s exactly what a natural coverage should do! Without removing any of the skin glow and shine.
Here you can see the overall natural look on the face, and the settling on the close-up.
I took this photo because on my face you can’t see the settling as well as here. Because it’s a natural cover, the settling will always be minimal, and I don’t have enough wrinkles on my face to show it well. Here you can see that there’s a very light settling on the deeper wrinkles.
After 3 hours you can see that the coverage disappeared slightly on my cheeks, the part where my hands touch the most. So you can see that every 4 hours or so you might need a touch up of the cushion.
I added these photos, since I think they are useful. The settling after 5h without re-applying. Then, different experiments of re-applying it: direct re-application didn’t work to well. Re-applying it with a moisturizer or base, as you would after skin care, works incredibly better!
In the end, even with the touch up and the natural cover it is a good cushion. The touch up doesn’t bother if you go outside because you should re-apply your sun protection every two hours on a normal day.
It is a shame that it’s only an SPF 35, but that’s still quite good if you really remember to re-apply – as you should, don’t play with your health. The coverage is very satisfactory for a natural coverage, even if it doesn’t last half a day. For a natural look, the ones I personally prefer during the summer, this is a good cushion.
I won’t repurchase it for now, since I have this one plus the other refill, but when Nature Republic releases another box I might stock up on it if it’s available!
