Nature Republic Hawaiian Fresh Clear Serum Review:
I was looking for a light serum to be used in the morning that time, since my previous morning serum had depleted. And, tara! Nature Republic Hawaiian Fresh line had just been released! I’ve never used any Nature Republic products before except for their mask sheet, but the claim of its serum actually caught my attention. It’s said to be suitable for oily skin; well I have oily skin and I exactly don’t want my face looks greasy for the entire day. Plus, it claims to treat pore-clogging, too; it has all my skin wants!
This rich, moisturizing clear serum makes skin feel silky, soft, and clean by caring pore-cloggers

Nature Republic Hawaiian Fresh Clear Serum Review:
Nature Republic Hawaiian Fresh Clear Serum has a green, semi-transparent, plastic primer-packaging inserted to a transparent, mica-plastic box as a secondary packaging. The primer packaging comes in a bottle with a pump, to make sure it keeps hygiene. All products information were written in the box, both in English and Korean. Very helpful!
And what I mean with ‘all’ is really complete enough that I don’t even had to look for more information on the internet. In one side of the box, there are pictures of Hawaiian hibiscus flower and Hawaiian sea water, once again to emphasize its contents.
The serum itself has a white and viscous texture. However, it’s super lightweight. It would be absorbed into your skin without any traces of viscous product (that sometimes related to greasiness). The smell is so-so too, it smells like a car perfume but disappears in no time. In my personal opinion, I don’t think the smell is disturbing.
Nature Republic Hawaiian Fresh Clear Serum really means its claim to specialize oily skin bearer! Once it’s applied, my skin feels so silky and soft, more into matte skin! Thus, it doesn’t take much time to be absorbed. The texture itself is not runny yet very lightweight, so that a pump is more than enough for my entire face and neck. There was a time when I pumped too much, well it’s not a problem since I could apply the excess to the same area and it wouldn’t look greasy.
However, among four main effects that it claims (Sebum control, anti acne, blackhead removal, whitehead removal), I’m afraid only the ‘sebum control’ effect that works with me. I’m gonna list the website’s claim and related it with what I actually feel on my skin :
“Hawaiian Fresh Clear Serum contains Hawaiian Hibiscus flower, Pure Clay, and Hawaiian Sea Water
Hawaiian Hibiscus used as an astringent which acts as a pore tightening agent and helps firm and keep skin hydrated
Hawaiian sea water helps revitalize and freshen up the skin
Controls pH levels and controls excessive sebum production levels,
preventing acne and pore clogging build up
Serum ideal oily skin type, targeting blackheads and whiteheads”
Nature Republic Fresh Clear Serum does help firming and hydrating skin, but only in a low scale. As I said before, this serum is lightweight. In another way, its lightweight texture helps freshen up my skin since it doesn’t make my skin heavy.
I actually have a normal skin; only one or two pimples comes up during my period, and this serum doesn’t prevent it from appearing. Well, this case is presumably hormonal while Nature Republic Hawaiian Fresh Clear Serum’s claim is to prevent acnes caused by excessive sebum. And yes, it’s very suitable for oily skin but it does nothing to my blackheads while I barely have whiteheads from the start.
Therefore, I could say that Nature Republic Hawaiian Fresh Clear Serum doesn’t do all its claims. In a nutshell, the significant effects are just controlling sebum, freshening up the skin, and a little of firming and hydrating.
Last but not least, there is some interesting thing about the packaging. The semi-transparent bottle shows a cylinder inside in the upper part of the bottle. When I first opened this product, the cylinder could be seen in the bottom of the bottle. But as time goes by, as I keep using the serum, that cylinder goes up, and it’s now at the top part of the bottle. So in short, the cylinder keeps going up as the product lessens; makes the user easy in knowing the serum’s amount left.
This product might be suitable for someone with an oily skin who looks for a lightweight morning serum. For a dry-skin bearer, the hydrating ability might be not enough for you. Also, don’t expect this product too much to handle blackheads and whiteheads.
Nevertheless for around $15, this serum might be worth-trying for a normal-skin bearer who only wants to keep silky and smooth skin. This product works very well to me, but since I’d like to try a lot of products, I might not repurchase for quite some times.
