[REVIEW] Nature Republic Provence Intensive Ampoule Foundation 01 Light Beige

Nature Republic Provence Intensive Ampoule Foundation 01 Light Beige Review:

I went to Nature Republic near my place weeks ago and I saw this foundation. I never tried any of Nature Republic base product so I was kinda curious and wanted to try one. They have several type of foundations but the name of this foundation itself caught my attention.

From its name, seems the foundation contains ampoule which I believe is very beneficial for the skin. I love when base makeups used skin care ingredients so it’s like I got 2 benefits in one product. It also contain red ginseng, royal jelly, and propolis which is good for moisturizing and firming the skin.

The price is a little bit ‘up there’ but I think it’s fair that it costs more than their other foundations since it has good ingredients. Unfortunately, the shade range is very disappointing. It has only 2 shades option and both shades are so light. I think only very fair to light skinned people can use this foundation.

Nature Republic Provence Intensive Ampoule Foundation 01 Light Beige Review:

Nature Republic is one of the eco-friendly brands so it’s expected that this foundation comes in a paper box made with recycled material. For the bottle itself, it’s made from plastic and it’s a bit frosted so in my opinion it looks like a high-end packaging.

The foundation size is quite huge even though they only has 30 ml of product, the exact amount as any other foundations, even my favorite Peripera Ink Blurring Skin Tint has the same amount but with much more tiny packaging.

With the bulky size, it’s not the most travel-friendly foundation because it takes too much space on my bag but the bottle feels so sturdy enough so if you don’t mind the bulky size, this foundation can be your choice for traveling.

I’m so sad they only have 2 shades available because people with deeper skin tone than a fair to light can’t find their match shade. I do have fair complexion so the shade I got is shade 01 Light Beige. It has yellow undertone and some people may find it too yellow for their liking especially if you have cool – pink undertone but once it is blended, the shade will look better and won’t make your face looks yellow.

I’m so glad it has a pump! I love foundation with a pump since it’s so hygienic and won’t make a mess everywhere. The pump works wonderful as well, it’s easy to control the amount of the product you want to take out and the lid also feel so secure (you’ll hear a click sound when you close the lid) so chance the lid can be opened accidentally is very small.

This foundation uses an airless-pump type, means it will keep pump the product out until there’s none left in the bottle anymore. You can see it on the bottom part when you pump the foundation, there’s a plastic plate inside that will push the product from the bottom. I love this type of pump because you can use the product well, without leaving any foundation behind.

It has natural ingredients so the foundation has a good, fresh scent. The scent is similar to one you can smell from skin care but it’s not too obvious until you sniff really hard so I guess everyone can wear it. But as any Korean brands do, they put perfume on the ingredients which can be irritant to anyone who allergic to fragrance.

It has a light-watery texture but it’s not too runny and not thick either. The texture feels as light as a serum and it’s fairly easy to blend. The coverage is light to medium but you can build it by applying another layer. I won’t recommend it though because it can look too cakey especially if your skin is more on the dry side.

The foundation has a semi-matte finish but on me, because I have oily skin, it looks more dewy and on dry skin it may look a bit matte. Because the texture is like a water (water is the main ingredient of this foundation), it can be too drying for dry skin. It can emphasis your dry patches or if you have any bad textures on your skin. I do have textured skin and dry patches so I have to make sure that my skin is moisturized enough or it will make my face looks like a mess.

My favorite way in applying this foundation is by using a wet beauty sponge. By using a dampened sponge, even though it takes away the coverage it blends the foundation better and makes the foundation looks more dewy. I don’t really mind if my foundation has light coverage as long as they blend well and doesn’t look patchy.

For its lasting power, I think it’s a so-so. It doesn’t stay all day on my face but it doesn’t wear off that fast either. It’s about 5 to 6 hours until I have to touch up my foundation which I think is pretty good for oily skin.

It doesn’t have a good oil control and my face will look so oily after 2 to 3 hours but I’m so impressed that even though my face looks very oily, the foundation doesn’t break up at all! It still look smooth and it doesn’t even sink into my pores. It only look a little bit patchy on my nose but that’s all. Usually foundation breaks up on me when I have too much oil so it’s amazing it doesn’t break up at all.

I would recommend this foundation for people with oily skin because it’s very hard to find a foundation that won’t break up on oily skin. The lasting power isn’t the best but I think it’s good enough to have a foundation that will make your skin look smooth and won’t clog your pores. It also doesn’t break out my skin even after weeks of wearing it. For dry skin, it can be look too dry so you may want to avoid this product.
