Nature Republic Rose Mousse Cleanser Review:
Of course I was attracted to this product from the start. Flower scent, mousse (sensitive skin here), peculiar and different product… And it’s a shameless copy of the Evita rose cleanser when it comes to design, but when it comes to making the shape of a rose there are actually many others. And, also of course, even though I love J-beauty (and all others), K-beauty is the one in my heart. And even though those other brands are relatively cheap (I’m sure online they end up being the same price as this one) since I’m in Korea this one is fairly cheaper for me!
With all honesty, I applied for at least 2 lucky draws and 1 contest for this foam, and I didn’t win. Luckily me not winning coincided with the end of a short no-buy I did so guess who got her hands on one!
The soft foam which is dispensed in a flower shape, effectiviley removes impurities with moisturizing benifits.

How to use:
Before using always shake the bottle around 5 times up and down.
With your thumbs slightly press the pink buttons on the side of the bottle and let the foam come out around 3 cm (I use 2 because I find 3 to be too much). Massage on your face gently from 30 seconds to 1 minute, and then rinse off.
My Skin Type: Oily T, dry U, sensitive, blemishes easily, and allergic. Dry, sensitive and allergic lips. Very thin, dehydrated and oily eyelids.
Nature Republic Rose Mousse Cleanser Review:
I have used mousse type cleansers (or foam cleansers in Europe) since I started caring for my skin, many many years back. They are ideal for people who don’t want an aggressive cleanser since they don’t go too deep into the skin but still do their job.
However, since I came to Korea there are so many specific cleansers for sensitive skin that the only mousse cleanser I used was the Etude House Soon Jung Whip cleanser, that also happens to be for sensitive skins! So that’s the one I’ll be comparing this one too (mainly, of course I’ll evaluate it individually but I’ll compare it on some points I think might help you).
The first thing I want to be completely honest with is this lid. I hate it with all my heart. It doesn’t really close, I have to press it down strongly (and I have no strength in my arms whatsoever) and somehow it ends up popping back out!
Another thing, just a small note, is that after using the foam there’s a small residue. Which is fine if you keep using it on your routine normally, but if you intend on pausing it from your routine then I have to insist you rinse it with water after your last use before the pause.
Let’s start the main part of the review!
Flower! Why doesn’t it look beautiful like the official photos? Because I didn’t shake it before opening. But it does have one advantage, which is the foam is more dense, more concentrated. And so it feels like it cleanses deeper (I tried a few times).
But we are all into this because of the flower, so let’s do it properly, shall we?
With proper shaking you can see that the petals pop out more, however they aren’t as beautiful as the official photos. Rather than a se*y and elegant flower it looks like an adorable flower. I have to admit that after reading reviews the Evita one wins on the flower shape, the lines are a little sharper. But with practice I have gotten better at getting my flower!
The tricks are: shake a little more than they say as if you were shaking a spray ink, press the buttons while the cleanser is on a flat surface, and actually that’s it. But without that the flower is short and cute like in this photo (the Evita flowers are still a little prettier).
I literally do this every time I use it! Sometimes I am even a rose-unicorn and that makes me the most beautiful unicorn of all.
The actual cleansing!! I have used this cleanser both as a sole cleanser and as a second cleanser after using makeup. I have used it after skipping one routine (I wanted to try cleansing a big amount of sebum) and using it on days when my skin was sensitive.
The texture is exactly like a men’s shaving foam, even if it doesn’t look like it it feels like one when I spread it on my face.
The scent is of rose, but not strong like rose water or a rose toner, maybe because it is balanced with other flowers and plants. But it is very pleasant and you still can’t really identify any other smell.
I usually wet my face before using any cleanser because it removes the first layer of sebum. If I use a small amount of water or don’t even wet my face before then it looks like in this photo. Very dense and like a shaving foam. On the contrary, if I leave a bigger amount of water on my face then it feels as dense (meaning it feels light) and spreads as easily as the Soon Jung cleanser.
Does it clean well? It cleans all facial sebum perfectly well, without dehydrating the skin. It feels a little stronger than the Soon Jung cleanser because on the day I left my sebum pile up (ewww) it cleaned it well, whereas the Soon Jung cleanser on the same situation needs two cleansings (I tested that detail especially for this review since I thought it was important). This means that this foam is light and gentle on the skin, but not as gentle as the Soon Jung one.
However it is still very gentle. My current makeup remover is a cleansing cream, which is very thick, moisturizing, and also leaves a lot of residue. This cleanser can’t clean that residue at first, whereas any foam cleanser (not mousse) I have will remove that residue easily.
My skin didn’t feel any problem when it was sensitive nor when I had small pimples (even on days when my essence hurt me a little, the cleanser didn’t hurt at all).
In the end I love love this cleanser. I feel that it’s gentle enough and cleans well, while at the same time having a scent that I love. I think that if you want to use this cleanser it is fine regardless of your skin type, as long as your skin doesn’t have problems with any of the ingredients it should be fine!
