Mamonde Floral Hydro Ampoule Toner Narcissus Review:
I purchased this product, thanks to the suggestion of Nigama from Cosmeperks, and I fell in love with it when she showed it to me. It’s blue (which makes it look clean) it’s hydrating, it’s an ampoule, and promises long lasting hydration just by looking at it first glance.
Then it also has a very simple and cute design, honestly better than the one they used in their new masks (even though they tried to match the designs, it just really didn’t work that way). It looks very appealing, and it responds to my weaknesses for flowers. So I have been using it for a while now and I have reached a conclusion.
From the website:
A moisturizing ampoule toner in the form of a moisture-enriched ampoule to replenish the dry skin every day.
- Step 1: A fast-penetrating texture for instant moisture replenishment.
- Step 2: Thorough moisturization.
- Step 3: Moisture locking to capture moisture on the surface of skin.
- Ampoule Texture Technology: The transforming texture that instantly transforms from an ampoule into a toner.
- Moisture of ampoule + penetration of toner: Simply apply the toner to experience the care of ampoules.

Mamonde Floral Hydro Ampoule Toner Narcissus Review:
As I said before, the package is really pretty. There is now a limited edition with a pretty flowery design outside too, but since I have the normal one…
There’s still stuff to brag about this design though. The flower details in the bottom of the bottle, the presentation of the box that reminisces of traditional European cosmetics, all very nice.
The pump they created here is not only very comfortable but also, as you can see, it’s very clean. I have used this non stop for over 3 weeks, and there is still no leftover product residue anywhere outside the package! It just pumps out the product very cleanly.
When I first saw this toner I thought these bubbles were “something” because the toner did say ampoule, and hydro. In the end they are literally air bubbles. That’s unrelated to the quality of the product, it’s just a thing that I noticed and wondered if anyone else thought about it. They still make the overall presentation of the product look prettier!
In this swatch I want to start talking about the actual product.
The scent is pleasant and a little strong (though not as strong as Sulwhasoo products if I might say), but it goes away very quickly.
The toner is as dense as the Innisfree Green Tea Seed Essence, and when you spread it it melts in what Koreans like to call “water drops”. You can see that in the middle photo the liquid is more watery. It absorbs quickly and gives a nice fresh feeling to the skin.
I have tried to do the 7 skin method (where you layer the toner you use seven times before proceeding with your skin care) and I must say that 1) this toner really doesn’t need that, 2) it made my skin feel a little heavy after the 3rd layer. Because the “ampoule” side of it makes it a really strong toner that works fine by itself, it doesn’t need more than one layer because that’s exactly what you need in terms of lightness, hydration, and comfort.
Just for reference before we continue, I usually use one pump and a half each time. One pump is enough but I like that small “extra”, remember to always find what works for you.
You can see in this photo the almost immediate effect of the toner. Had I known that it was more than “just hydrating” as they make it seem I would have taken a proper before and after photo. But since I didn’t know about this you’re stuck with a week difference photo.
I mean, the pores changed so much that what looked like a blob of 1 big pore turned out to be actually a couple of big pores that had been “stuck together” and are now small enough to be separated from each other.
Yes, this happened with extended use of the toner, but it doesn’t mean the toner can fix this problem of elongated pores – it just means that it fixes the part where my pores lack hydration.
Even though it is a good product there are no magical products (but it feels soooo good). My skin without hydration is shown in the first photo, with hydration in the second photo.
First thing I feel each time I apply the product is how fresh (as in young) my skin feels right after application. This is a temporary feeling, of course, without the rest of skin care it goes away – but when paired with a nice skin care routine it’s a very pleasant feeling. I have to say it feels particularly nice if you use a first treatment essence, since they complement each other very well.
They do say that the Hyaluronic Acid replenishes the skin, but after all the talk of hydration I thought that’s what they were talking about. Actually, after reading it again, I still think they were just talking about hydration. But they didn’t mention that a dry skin needs hydration before you moisturize it, a combination or oily skin can be like that because it is under hydrated, and a skin like mine, which is combination with very extreme dryness and extreme oil definitely needs hydration to balance the two extremes.
If you hydrate your skin properly (this is what they should have mentioned) you normalize the pores and they can appear smaller, and can close easier after pore treatments.
Another thing that I noticed, and no one mentions this because cosmetic companies don’t study scar tissue, is that my scar (it’s very faded) gets less swollen after using this hydration focused toner than when I use non-hydration focused products.
To sum it up: Yes it focuses mainly on hydration. But it’s really strong and effective in its hydration. And all skin types desperately need hydration before moisture. It also helped my scarred tissue.
I would honestly recommend this to anyone who feels like they need hydration. This “ampoule” toner actually feels like 25% first essence, so my skin feels really nourished after each time I apply it, even when I don’t use a first essence.
