Laneige Layering Cover Cushion SPF34 PA++ N23 Sand was purchased by Cosme Perks.
This cushion is be-autiful! I don’t even mean the design, I mean the results. You walk around Korea and see the posters, the videos, the in-store publicity and for the first time you stop wondering why they chose that actress (whom I love but is really young for a brand like Laneige) to represent them. And then just for a moment you wonder if it isn’t the cushion that achieved that… That’s what we will find out today!
(from the pamphlet)
Complete Match of Cushion and Concealer. The 2-in-1 Layering Cover Cushion provides perfectly brightened and anti-darkening long lasting finish.
1 – Concealing Base for perfect long-lasting coverage.
As a balm-type concealer for complete coverage (in a cushion container), Aqua Melting Technology has been applied gently for fir absorption of the skin. I
t completely covers and hides pores and uneven parts, as well as keeps skin bright and without darkening for a long time. It thus offers a no-defect skin base and a long-lasting clear face without darkening.
2 – Layering Cover Cushion for new rosy skin coloring from the skin base
It has Illuminating Jewel Powder that brightly and clearly covers yellowish, reddish and grayish skin with a rosy tone, and leaves skin bright thanks to its pink lighting effect. Despite offering complete coverage, it does not feel stuffy, can be used for three-dimensional makeup, and leaves the skin looking fresh and full of energy.
3 – Synergy of Layering Cover Cushion and Concealing Base
Hydro ion mineral water formula and carbonated water full of moisturizing effect and nutrients offer complete coverage, while also hydro-cooling the skin, thereby leaving it moist and relaxed for a long time.
4 – Layering puff that can be adjusted to either moistful finish or semi-matte finish
The velvet/air-cell puff combination of the edge puff enables you to adjust its use for either a glowing touch or a matte finish.

Laneige Layering Cover Cushion SPF34 PA++ N23 Sand Review:
Well right at the beginning I freaked out a little because they didn’t have shade 21 available. So I got shade 23, as the lighter shades freaked me out even more! I walked out with an unusually dark tone, which at first matches my skin but we all know cushions tend to darken during the day!
Let me tell you right away – this one really doesn’t darken during the day. They kept their promise and honestly it’s my first time not-darkening at all. In most cushions I have this “waiting time” for the cushion to settle, but in this one what you apply at first is what you get throughout the day and I love that.
This is the baby I see every day and night at the bus stop. An elegant cushion with a pretty young face, just yelling “I know you want skin like mine” and yes I do.
The cushion is slightly oval shaped, nothing that justifies it though. There is literally no reason to be oval shaped but who am I to complain.
Whereas I don’t care for this design particularly, it’s so simple and the color is so beautiful it’s impossible not to accept it!
You press this little button to prop the lid open.
So, the inside of the lid is teardrop shaped (love love love) and makes me wish the whole cushion box was the same shape. With this color how awesome would that have been?
The puff tried to be a teardrop shape, tried being the keyword, since it’s an egg shape in the end. I can tell you if it was teardrop shaped it would have been easier to apply under the eye, but we take what we get.
The top of the puff is really velvety. It’s exactly like applying the foundation with a piece of fabric.
The real winner here is that air-cell puff part. It is fluffy and soft and gentle and not made out of plastic like literally all the other puffs in the world.
Once you open the pack, the two sections are individually protected.
Now, on the pamphlet they mention the possibility of a refill (which would be a chunk including both of them) but I asked in store and there is no such thing and they aren’t sure if there ever will be. I hope it will since I did fall in like with this cushion.
I don’t know why I included this photo but I thought it was a cute detail.
This was my journey during the full course of a day. I must say, without touch ups it looks a-may-zing for 10 hours, it really is long lasting. And mainly it really doesn’t darken.
The cushion has a slight perfume smell which is to me quite nice and doesn’t bother after being on the skin. If you dislike perfume then you won’t like this, but it is nice if you don’t mind.
On the previous picture I had a good skin day. My skin was oily and dry but not extremely.
This is on a bad day. Terribly oily under my lip, horribly dry on my chin.
But I have to say that it still holds up quite well. For comparison I used the Labiotte Classic Made cushion (which is almost matte) and the Celebeau cushion (really moist) and although moist cushions hold just as well (thus me using them all the time) a normal matte or semi-matte cushion doesn’t last this well in such a bad-skin situation.
Here I just wanted to show you how well it actually covers. I don’t care for correcting beauty marks but I figured I would use that for this purpose. It does do a decent job, you can see in the other photo it covers my small freckles until they disappear, so I’m guessing skin “stains” will be “gone” with it.
You can also see in this photo the difference between the matte finish (center) and glowy finish (right). The glowy one looks like I applied highlighter a little bit all over the skin!
But as a glowy cushion lover I have to say this is more semi-moist than moist in the finish.
On the skin the concealer feels really thick and powdery, but the cushion itself feels moister than moist! Feels so moist I feel no discomfort at all even in dry skin days.
In the end I would rate this 5/5 and recommend it to everyone who isn’t limited to super moist cushions – with the sole advice to buy exactly your tone since that’s the final tone of the cushion once applied.
Surprisingly that makes me a 23 in this specific case, and I’m usually a 21!
Another thing: in Korea they only have 4 (very light) tones.
But if you search the internet, this is the whole range you can find (image from their website):
