3CE Soft Lip Lacquer Tawny Red was purchased by Cosmeperks.
I really love 3CE lip products. I have some of them and so far they do have good quality and worth the price. Their latest release, the Velvet Lip Tint is definitely one of my most favorite Korean lip tints and imagine how excited I am when they launch a new lip collection!
This time they launch a soft lip lacquer which I think is not new for 3CE since they released a lip lacquer years ago (but now discontinued). They claim it as a classic matte with a very good pigmentation and won’t budge off. If it’s true to its claim, I would be so happy because I love matte lips and since I love the Velvet Tint so much, it makes me have so high expectation of this product.
They have 10 shades available for this collection and I have to say the color range is very similar to the Velvet Tint and the Mood Recipe lipsticks. It has 6 neutrals shade with 2 reds and 2 purples. Not the best shade range in my opinion but because I’m a fan of neutral lip color, it’s really hard to choose only one color.

3CE Soft Lip Lacquer Tawny Red Review:
The first thing I notice is how the packaging is basically the same with the Velvet Tint, except it’s more chubby, shorter, and transparent. But the overall packaging is the same. Both are made from plastic but have soft-rubber feeling to it. Even though it’s more bulky, it is still travel friendly and doesn’t need too much space.
It come in a small box and as always from 3CE, it has a hologram sticker to prove its authenticity. The bottle also has a black seal to show if the lid is been opened or not.
It has a doe-foot applicator, it’s very small and short but strangely it works better than some of other lip tints applicator despite the size. I have no difficulty at all in applying the lacquer on my lips with this applicator.
The small size helps me to draw a precise line on my cupid’s bow part. The applicator picks up a lot of product and it’s enough to cover my whole lips without need to dip for more.
It has a slight powdery scent. Not too obvious unless you sniff really hard but you can smell it faintly when you apply it on the lips. It does contain perfume as its ingredients so if you allergic to any product with perfume in it, you may want to avoid it.
I got mine in shade Tawny Red, a brick orange shade that will complement all skin tone with warm undertone. It’s my favorite type of shade for my lips because it’s bold yet still wearable at the same time and the shade can makes my complexion looks brighter.
This type of shade will look pretty on people who has black, deep brown, hazel, or green eyes as well. I think this shade is one of the best selling shade since when I check them on YesStyle and eBay the shade is sold out.
People with cool undertone may find this shade is too warm for their liking and that’s exactly the minus point from 3CE. They tend to make shades that suit warm undertone only (the reason maybe because most of Asian has yellow/warm undertone) and I hope in the future they will make more shades for both undertones.
The texture of this lip lacquer is thin and liquidy. Because of the thin texture, the lacquer sets immediately after application. Based on my experience, lip products with this type of texture has true matte finish and I am right!
It’s really matte without any shine at all and I think it’s my first time seeing a K-beauty lip lacquer with finish as matte as this one, even more matte that the Etude House Matte Chic Lip Lacquer.
How it sets fast makes it a little bit hard to blend the colors especially if you want to make a gradient lips. The only way to make it works is by using your finger to dab the color on the inner part of your lips then use a lip brush or a cotton swab to blend the color out. It takes too much time for my liking so I use this lip lacquer to make a full lips look only.
It has very matte finish but unfortunately it’s not the type of matte I love. It’s too drying for me and it accentuates all of my dry parts and lines on my lips. It makes my lips feel so dry! You really have to prepare your lips using a lip balm or use a lip scrub first before using this lip lacquer.
But even though it’s so dry, it is very long lasting and won’t budge even after hours of wearing. It also doesn’t look patchy and still look good at the end of the day. I tried eating greasy foods but the color only fade a little bit. It’s a waterproof formula but not transfer-proof product since it leaves a little bit of stain on my glass.
To remove it, I have to use a good cleansing oil and I need to tug a little bit to make sure that the color will be removed from my lips. It doesn’t leave a stain though so I can say it’s fairly easy to remove the color completely.
I won’t recommend it if you have dry or flaky lips. If you have a lot of lines on your lips, don’t get the lighter shades since they tend to accentuate your lines more than the bold, darker shades one.
I don’t think it’s worth the price because the quality isn’t as good as the Etude House one and they both have matte finish but if you have natural plump – soft lips, maybe this product is made for you.
