[REVIEW+SWATCHES] Opera Sheer Lip Color N 22 Natural Pink N

Opera Sheer Lip Color N 22 Natural Pink N Review:

Japanese lip products are famed for their great application and moisturizing properties, and Opera in particular has been one of the must-have brands among the sea of unending lip tints, lipsticks, and liquid lipsticks.

Their Sheer Lip Color is perhaps lesser known than their famed Lip Tint, however, that absolutely does not speak to the quality and performance of the former.

So how does it fare?

Claims:

+ The sophisticated rouge color and gloss creates feminine, supple lips.

+ By adding essence for the water texture, it creates delicate, beautiful color and plump the lips with an ultimate shine like a veil of water on the lips.

+ The technology in this formula keeps the liquid product in a stick type, and will glide on even dry lips with a single coat, for a sheer, supple finish.

Ingredients:

Opera Sheer Lip Color N 22 Natural Pink N Review:

The product comes in a very slim tube — much slimmer than traditional lipsticks — making it perfect to put in your bag for on-the-go application and touch-ups. The outside casing is white while the inside is black, making it pretty elegant and standard as far as coloring of the packaging — nothing too wild. The product twists both up and down smoothly, so there’s no need to worry if you’ve twisted up more than you can use!

Opera Sheer Lip Color N 22 Natural Pink N Review

This Sheer Lip Color N comes in at least 12 colors with some additional limited edition seasonal shades (although I’m not too sure whether they’re still available). Like many Asian beauty products, most of them veer on the brighter side — think corals, MLBBs, and reds.

Don’t worry, none of the shades are bright fluorescent shades, but I’ve noticed they lack my favorites — deeper brick tones and brown shades. The concept, though, is suppose to be feminine and supple lips, and with a sheer formula, it makes sense to keep the colors similar to very natural-looking lip colors.

Natural Pink N is one of the few true MLBB colors of the bunch — it is slightly deeper coral color with hints of pink; it is true to the bullet. As the name suggests, this really is a sheer formula, meaning that it creates a light stain rather than an opaque layer of color.

Opera Sheer Lip Color N 22 Natural Pink N Review

The texture of this product is extremely soft — to the point where it broke into clumps when I swatched it for the photo. This doesn’t happen when I apply it onto my lips (probably because I am more gentle then), so it’s important to handle it with care.

It can apply a little clumpy because of its texture, but a little smooshing of your lips can quickly help with that. Because it’s so soft, it basically melts onto your lips to create a glossy stain, like a very moisturizing lip balm with a light occlusive layer.

As for lasting power, I think that it lasts pretty well for a sheer lip color — obviously, quite a bit will wear off during eating and drinking, but other than that, the glossy finish stays on for a pretty long time, and the color really stains your lips to give it some life.

Having used this product for a good few months now, I can safely say that it is one of my go-to lip products. Not only does it give me some color, it really helps to protect my lips, which is one of the most important things to me for everyday wear.

It goes well with both very natural makeup and with a heavier eye look, and makes my lips look polished with just a few swipes. My only qualm is that there is very little product, so the cost of this may be something to consider.
