Peripera Ink Matte Blur Tint 03 Hitwave Orange Review:
Not long after releasing the new Ink Airy Velvet Tint and Ink Airy Velvet Stick, Peripera is back with another new lip tint. Following the trend, this time they come out with the ‘popular nowadays’ blur tint and called as the Ink Matte Blur Tint. This type of formula is pretty popular in Korea as you can see tons of brands releasing their own version of blur tints and some of the most popular are from Etude House blur tint and Bbia (the Etude one is not my favorite and I haven’t tried the one from Bbia yet).
So what is blur tint? It is basically an another term of smoothing tint. Usually a blur tint has a velvet and matte finish and it will feel soft on the lips. Blur tint is perfect if you have lot of lines on your lips or if you have very pigmented or dark lips. Peripera themselves describe this tint as a matte, lightweight tint with smooth application and good pigmentation so I’m guessing it’s not too different with other blur tints.
Peripera released this tint in 10 shades but honestly, the shade range is really similar to other lip collection from Peripera, there’s even a same shade (with a same name!) with the new Ink Airy Velvet Tint. I’m not sure if they make a whole new shades or just using similar shades but with different formula but if you are a loyal Peripera’s lip tint user like I am, then you will notice what I’m talking about.
+ Lip tint provides light, smooth application and promotes vivid color in matte finish on lips.

Peripera Ink Matte Blur Tint 03 Hitwave Orange Review:
I’m so excited to see finally Peripera makes a totally different packaging with their older releases! Usually they use a bulky bottle for their lip tints so I’m pleasantly surprised to see this time they make it in a more slim and sleek bottle. It’s really slim I can put it in my pocket and I won’t feel it. If you ever see a blood bottle (the one medical staff use for blood test), it is exactly shaped like that. I find it’s pretty unique and to be honest, the packaging is the main factor I decided to purchase this lip tint.
It has a doe-foot applicator with a bit of slanted shape. It’s not too wide so I find a bit difficulty in spreading the tint but it’s very flexible so I can reach the corner part of my lips easily. It also picks up enough product so I don’t have to dip the applicator over and over to get my lips covered fully.
From 10 shades, I got shade 03 Hitwave Orange. It’s actually the shade they advertised everywhere and since I rarely use a shade like that, I decided to get it. If you are a light, natural lip color fan, I don’t think you will love this tint shade range. Most of the shades are on the bold side. Even the lightest one in the collection is a deep beige which I think would look dark on fair to light skin tone.
The shade 03 Hitwave Orange on the picture is an orange with red undertone. It looks very pretty but on me, the red tone is more vivid. I think maybe it’s because I have more neutral undertone but if you have warm undertone, I’m pretty sure it will look more orange on you and if you have cool undertone the red tone will look more obvious. I’m a bit disappointed actually but I can’t do anything since it’s because of my undertone.
The lip tint has a very good pigmentation and it covers my lip lines well. I don’t have pigmented lips but if you do, I’m sure it can cover your lip color too. As for the texture, it has a thick and moussey texture like any other blurring tint. Because of the thick texture, you need to be careful when applying it or it can cause a mess if you apply too much. I always wipe the applicator on the side of the bottle first to remove the excess tint.
The good thing is it’s really smooth so I didn’t face any difficulties in applying the tint. One swipe is enough to cover my lips and it doesn’t emphasis any of my dry parts. I do have slightly flaky lips but it’s not a problem with this tint, it makes my lips look smooth and plump. Even with its matte finish, it doesn’t feel dry either but I think it’s more like a velvet finish because can feel the tint is not fully dry even after hours of wearing.
The lasting power is not the best though. I have to reapply the tint every time after I eat but without eating, you can get 4 hours max. For a matte finish, I think the lasting power is not that great, even their Sugar Jelly Tint with glossy finish stays on my lips longer. After fading, it doesn’t leave a stain behind so it’s easy to remove the tint fully before reapplying it.
Will I get it in other shade? If they make a lighter shade then yes maybe I want to try it but for now, I don’t think I will purchase another shade. It is affordable but for me the tint’s performance is average or ’so-so’ and I can find better tints out there. Even I love the new Airy Ink Velvet better than this one.
If you are a fan of Peripera, do try it and who knows it will work better on you. Or if you have dry or dark/pigmented lips but want to wear a matte lip tint maybe you will like this tint. It won’t make your lips feel more dry and because of its affordable price, it won’t be a huge burden for your budget.
I just hope Peripera will make another set of shades or upgrade the quality in the future so it can perform better.
