[REVIEW+SWATCHES] 2019 NEW Peripera Mood Blank Collection Ink The Velvet 12 Point Red

Peripera Mood Blank Collection Ink The Velvet 12 Point Red Review:

It’s not Peripera if they didn’t have a new collection every month. The new Mood Blank collection from Peripera finally arrived and in this collection they only have lip tints and a 4-pan eyeshadow palette. I don’t know why they decided to make only 2 products for this collection and in my opinion, I think it’s because they want to release something for the fall season (Peripera is famous for their fall collection).

The eyeshadow palette, even though it’s pretty, is not my type of product so I chose to try the tint instead. As usual, Peripera didn’t made a new tint and just threw some new shades to this collection using their infamous Ink the Velvet tint. I know Peripera launched tons of new product this year but I hope they will make something different like a gloss or lip pencil maybe?

I think the Mood Blank collection is just a ‘filler’ collection before they launch something bigger or more special because if you visit their website, the Ink the Velvet one only available in 3 new shades and for me, those 3 shades are very similar to the ones that exist in the older collection which is the new Ink the Velvet AD they launched early this year. I’m not that surprised to see the similarity between the shades though because I noticed that Peripera always did that with their new collection. Similar shades, similar packaging, and nothing new unless they release a totally different product.

Peripera Mood Blank Collection Ink The Velvet 12 Point Red Review:

As expected from Peripera, they used the same packaging as the original Ink the Velvet but with a pastel pink color. It is made from a rubbery material but because of the color, it gets dirty pretty fast. The only new thing from this tint is the packaging box, this time I guess Peripera took time to create something more creative and unique.

As you can see, the box is different so you can open it by ripping the top part and behind it, you will find new words. For some it might be not too special but for me, it’s fun to see personal touch like this.

The applicator is a doe-foot and it’s the same with the just-released Ink the Velvet AD but different with the one from the Pink Moment collection. It has a triangle shape with a small point tip and it distributes the tint really well on my lips. The tip is not too big but not too small either so I can apply the tip on my cupids bow evenly. The applicator picks up enough tint for my small lips so I will give plus points just for the applicator alone.

Unfortunately, the tint is available in 3 shades only and as expected, the shade range is not far from red, pink, and orange. I got mine in shade 12 which is a reddish rose shade. I think it’s the most neutral and safe shade to wear for daily activities. The other options are a brown orange shade and a red pink shade which I think are pretty as well but I kinda attracted to shade 12.

On me, shade 12 surprisingly is pretty much the same with the one they show on their official website. It’s a deep rosy shade that will complement all skin tones and can be used as MLBB (My Lips But Better) shade for some with medium skin tone. It has a warm undertone and when I swatch it for the first time, I thought it would be too deep for me but turn out the shade is not as deep as when I swatch it on my arm. If you don’t know which shade you should get, try this shade!

Just like the other tints from Peripera, this one has a very good pigmentation. I need only one swipe to cover my whole lips so if you want to create a gradient look, use the tint thinly and blend it with your finger to help the tint blend better into the lips. The tint has a thick texture so using it too much would look messy and patchy and it needs a few minutes to really set down and turn into a velvet finish. After it sets, it looks more smooth but it’s not transfer-proof so you will find lipstick stain when you are eating or drinking.

It does fade after you eat oily foods (as expected from any lip tints I think) but it will leave a faint red stain on your lips so your lips won’t look blotchy. Without eating, it lasts for about 4 hours. Not the best long lasting tint but it feels lightweight and comfortable on my lips so it’s not a big problem for me.

The good thing is it doesn’t emphasis my dry areas, unlike the one from the Pink Moment collection. Both are Ink the Velvet but they perform really different! If you never tried Ink the Velvet before and you are planning to, try this one instead of the older releases. Maybe Peripera changed the formula or ingredients because with this one, it performed better on me.

I can say that there are a lot of better lip tints in the market but for the affordable price and the good qualities, I think this tint is worth a try especially if you are still a teenager or just want something nice to collect. If you don’t mind about its longevity, then this tint might be perfect for you. Just don’t forget to always use a lip balm before because the tint will apply twice more smooth if you moisturize your lips first.
