Peripera Pearly Night Inklasting Pink Cushion 2 Pink Beige Review:
I laughed like a devil when I got this cute pinky baby on my doorstep. Hhaha! This product sold like hotcakes. I saw some online sellers in my country brought it on their shop at night and wanted to make my order in the next morning, but it was sold out everywhere and very fast, oh my God! Lucky me, I finally got mine from a seller (but at a bit higher price). Well, it doesn’t matter because I am HAPPY!!!
So, Inklasting Pink Cushion is not a new product from Peripera. But a special thing from this cushion is it’s in Pearly Night edition, special and limited edition for holiday 2017. Peripera Pearly Night Inklasting Pink Cushion 2 Pink Beige Review:
What should I describe about the packaging? Practically, I only have one word, CUTE! Even it is cuter in real life than the pictures. The moving glitters and stars in the cushion’s face are truly adorable. Once I got mine, I couldn’t stop playing with this cushion. It is glittery, it is sparkly and it is pink. It is a perfect gift for holiday season!
Like its name, this cushion comes in baby pink color, same color with its box. It is slightly thicker than other cushion (such as Apieu Air Fit Cushion or Etude House Real Powder Cushion) owing to the snow globe on its case. The thickness is similar to Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control. But once you fell in love with how sparkling the case, you will not complain anything even if it is a bit bulky or whatever.
It’s my first time trying out Peripera’s cushion and I was surprised that this cushion doesn’t have pressed button to open the case (I do not know about the other Peripera cushions or regular version of Inklasting Cushion). You know, we usually press a push button to open our cushion compact, but this one is different. The button can’t be pressed, so it is opened normally. I feel like it doesn’t shut well but actually it does. So, it’s just me who’s too hesitant.
Inside the cushion case, we get a mirror in general size like many other cushions. And all you will see is pastel pink. It is so cute and pretty. The puff is also coming with pastel pink color which looks so cute as well. But it is also easier to get dirty once used or touched the foundie.
The puff is very soft and bouncy but it is not my favorite puff (I still love Apieu’s puff the most). It helps to apply the product evenly with smooth result but it absorbs too much foundie inside. I am also hesitant whether it is a kind of ruby cell puff or not, but I am pretty sure it is not an air puff. However, I do not have serious issue with the puff.
Meanwhile the cover of the cushion which separates the cushion sponge and the puff can be locked perfectly. It is good since it will protect the cushion sponge itself from quick dryness.
The cushion sponge comes in a standard flat sponge, unlike mochi design in COSRX Clear Fit Blemish Cushion that I reviewed before. The sponge itself is very dense so a light touch is enough to take the foundation out.
I got my Inklasting Pink Cushion in shade Pink Beige. It is the second shade that have natural beige color with pink undertone. I am glad that this shade truly matches and blends nicely with my skin tone. Though it is not the lightest shade, but I still get a slight of brightening effect on my skin.
The foundation itself is creamy and less watery, but it can be blended very easy on skin. And I do like the scent of this cushion. It is like baby powder with more floral scents. It is so feminine and soft.
Unfortunately, the result on my skin is not as good as the texture. Okay, let me explain one by one. Actually I like the finishing look of this cushion. It is satin finish, not flat-matte and not too dewy on my oily areas. It is not sticky nor greasy on skin too. It is not perfectly weightless though it is not heavy too (just make sure that you do not apply too much product).
I did swatches on my hand and as you could see, it blended very naturally on my skin. It also had great coverage, more than I expected. You could see on my pictures, it covered up my red scar perfectly. Once again, it did another good job for coverage test. Oh, it also contains SPF 50+ PA+++ (another good point too).
On the other side, I do not like since this cushion accentuates my dry patches clearly and looks cakey after hours. It will make your smile lines and fine lines under eyes more visible too. Especially on dry areas, it seems like the foundie only sit on my skin and not set completely, it will leave a strange trace if you pinch your skin. I have to make sure that I apply tons of moisturizer cream before using this cushion. It has no moist effect at all.
The oil control and staying power are pretty good for me. It lasts about 3 hours before my Tzone being a bit oily and stays up to 5 hours on my dry areas. The foundie does not oxidize thus it won’t look grayish on skin. And fortunately, it did not create any pimples on my sensitive skin.
Sadly, I tried to love the formula of this cushion as much as I love the packaging, but I couldn’t. I do not hate the formula but however it is not my cup of tea. I would like this cushion if they made it with more moist formula.
Even though my skin is oily-combi but this cushion seems to be too dry for me (because my skin is dehydrated too). I think I should try the Inklasting Lavender Cushion since it is claimed to be more moist than the pink one (but the Pearly Night edition is already sold out here T T).
This cushion is more suitable for oily skin without hydration problem. Do not use it if you have dry skin type (better choose the lavender one). Or make sure you already put moisturizer cream (a lot of moisturizer cream) beforehand.
Recommended? You decide! If you ask about the formula, I think it’s better to try other cushion. But if you crazily love anything that looks cute and girly, then grab one before it sold out everywhere!
