[REVIEW] MAKE P:REM Blue Ray Sun Gel SPF 50+ PA++++

MAKE P:REM Blue Ray Sun Gel Review

MAKE P:REM Blue Ray Sun Gel Review:

I have always been keen on searching and testing for new products that contain innovative formulation and that works. My journey to find the holy grail sunscreen has not yet ended. I am still looking for my muse, my force and my inspiration to remind me that I need to protect the skin from the UV rays.

In mid of 2017, I found out that Make P:rem released a new sun care range: “UV Defense me. Blue ray”. This time the range offers 3 different sunscreens with different names. (I supposed it is because of the texture of the products) We have Blue ray sun gel/cream/fluid. The products became virally common in Korea.

Brief about the product: Released around April, 2017, this sun gel claims that it can reduces the effect of IR. There has been yet any IR filter to block the radiation from damaging the skin, but what this product do is to bring the skin’s surface temperature by up to 4.7ºC. I will talk more about this in my detailed review

OMI Menturm Sun Bears Strong Super Plus SPF50+/PA++++ Review:

After seeing this sunscreen float around the AsianBeauty sub-reddit and various beauty blogs, when my friend visited Japan for a bit, I almost immediately jumped at the opportunity when I saw it on a hugely discounted price in the store based on my friend’s window shopping pictures. A cheapskate, I definitely am, haha.

[REVIEW] Etude House Sun Blind Cushion SPF50+ PA+++

Etude House Sun Blind Cushion SPF50+ PA+++ Review

Etude House Sun Blind Cushion SPF50+ PA+++ Review:

I’ll admit that I’m a sucker for Etude House products, and they remain (as previously mentioned) one of my favourite Korean brands. I know a lot of people dislike their products, but for me their products tend to be inexpensive ones that don’t irritate my skin and generally work out okay. Last summer I was on the hunt for a way to reapply sun screen during the day, because I live in a country with extreme UV rays (all year round) where it’s possible to get sunburnt in ten minutes. Because I am unable to tan, and also have mild rosacea which means I should use sun screen every day and avoid the sun. These issues or factors made me want to have some way to reapply sunscreen over bb cream during the bright sunny summer days. But even people who can tan, should avoid some sun exposure because the UV rays can cause both skin cancer and age our skin.

So, when Etude House released this sun screen cushion designed to be applied over make up, I found myself unable to resist ordering one. While it has different sun screen filters than I usually prefer, I felt that was okay because it’s designed to go over a bb cream or foundation and it won’t be directly in contact with my skin. For once I didn’t buy this for the packaging either, because to be honest I’m not a huge fan of the striped design, but the design doesn’t matter for sunscreen, after all.

Innisfree Perfect UV Protection Cream Triple Care SPF50+ PA+++ Review

Innisfree Perfect UV Protection Cream Triple Care SPF50+ PA+++ Review:

One of the key factor to successfully protect your natural skin barrier is to protect the skin from UV rays. Yes, I am talking about sun-protector products. My journey to find the sunscreen of my life has never ended. Now I have to admit my skin is the “super acne-prone” kind of skin. If it does not like a product, it will tell me without any delays. I’ve been through the time that I’ve bought a full size sunscreen after taking good looks at the ingredient list, just to realize that my skin cannot handle it. Of course, I’ve wasted quite an amount of money to learn a lesson that what my skin likes and what it does not.

To sum up, I understand the feeling that people always tell you to put sunscreen on to protect your skin but there are TONS (literally) of products which guarantee to do you good. Where to start now? Well, I am writing this review and hope that it will give you one insight into a skin-friendly sun cream. Having learnt a lesson from the buy-a-full-size-product thing, I decided that I will start with the trial size first. I purchased the mini size 20ml of Innisfree Perfect UV protection cream triple care SPF50+ PA+++ because it was the only kind of product that has mini size available. Don’t you worry. For sure, I carefully checked the ingredient list before buying it. 😉

Innisfree offers a variety of sunscreens, mostly physical sunscreen, so that every skin type, even the most sensitive will have a chance to grab on their products.

[REVIEW] Etude House Sunprise Mild Perfect Relief SPF30 PA++

Etude House Sunprise Mild Perfect Relief SPF30 PA++ Review

Etude House Sunprise Mild Perfect Relief SPF30 PA++ Review:

Etude House has been one of my favorite Korean skin care brands for a long time, and also the first one that I tried. Admittedly I first bought their products not for their effectiveness but rather because SHINee were their advertising models. Not the best of reasons, but that’s okay, because I actually do like quite a few of their products.

Anyway, I picked up this sunscreen in Korea, when they were having a sale and the sunscreen I wanted to buy was out of stock. It seemed to be a new product and so I looked up the info and decided to try it since I was low on sunscreen anyway. What attracted this sunscreen to me was the fact that it uses physical filters and was in a cream rather than a liquid type of sunscreen.

[REVIEW] The SAEM Eco Earth Power Pink Sun Cream SPF50 PA++++

The Saem Eco Earth Power Pink Sun Cream SPF50 PA++++ Review

The Saem Eco Earth Power Pink Sun Cream SPF50 PA++++ Review:

While I don’t have sensitive skin (well not majorly so) I still prefer to find a sunscreen that is mild and soothing and suitable for sensitive skin because my eyes tend to be very sensitive and very easily irritated. This means I generally go for sunscreens with physical filters because I can apply them close to my eyes without irritating them (or having them run into my eyes later in the day). It’s honestly quite hard to find a sunscreen without chemical filters that is SPF50, which is why when I saw The Saem was releasing one that was SPF50 and only contained physical filters I had to try it.

I’ve also read that people who have rosacea should use physical filters, which is also why I prefer to find a sunscreen with them. My rosacea is quite mild, but I think it is important not to aggravate my skin, and so this sunscreen looked quite promising. I also liked the simple design of the tube, and the fact that the sunscreen is meant to be soothing and calming.

The Face Shop Natural Sun Eco Clear Sunscreen Stick SPF50+ PA+++ Review:

A couple of months ago, I tried Missha’s new stick sunscreen and I liked it, but it kind of left me wanting for more, so I purchased this one too. Oh, and it’s from the face shop X the Simpson’s collaboration. Hah, totally didn’t notice (definitely the only reason I got this was because I needed something from the collection no matter what)…

MISSHA All-around Safe Block Fresh Sun Stick SPF50+ PA+++ Review

MISSHA All-around Safe Block Fresh Sun Stick SPF50+ PA+++ Review:

Have you ever wished applying and re-applying sunscreen would be (even) simpler? Our fingers are one if not the dirtiest place on our body. With most sunblocks, we have to use our fingers to apply the product on our face. That usually isn’t as big of a problem but what if you’ve been outside of your house for 3 hours already, you have used the bus, your phone, multiple door handles etc..?

The more things you touch, the more germs and dirt your hands have. That means, the more chances you have to get a new pimple surprise on your beautiful face. There are couple of solutions for that, but I don’t want to be anxious all the time about finding a place to wash my hands, use antiseptic AND redo my makeup. And then I found this sun stick. It covers my needs of (kind of) hygienic sun protection so I thought I’d give it a try.

CNP Laboratory Tone-up Protection Sun SPF42 PA+++ Review

CNP Laboratory Tone-up Protection Sun SPF42 PA+++ Review:

Skincare regime is a complex thing, I would say. I am a beauty junkie and like checking out the many products and purposes. Even I occasionally get a headache from scouring through them.  So for the minimalists out there who prefer a less cluttered life, my (non-representative) suggestion is to have at least the basics; cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen.

Admittedly, sunscreen would not have been on my list years back.  I became aware of sunscreen only in my early 30s (do I hear some gasps of shock?)! I periodically made purchases of sunscreen, exploring both drugstore and luxury brands.  But I quickly moved from one brand to another because of either the sticky feeling, the whitecast or the breakouts they caused. I was on the verge of giving up, but pigmentations start to show up more obviously on my skin and I decided it is time I take sun protection seriously. Better late than never.
