I mean, I literally can have the dirtiest face and will still apply lip balm. So, I bought this, and I will guide you through seven days of using it!

IOPE Volume Treatment Lip Balm Review:
I will let you know from the beginning I had very high expectations for this product. It’s an IOPE product, which means that it’s very pricey and usually very good. Also, it promises to reduce lip wrinkles and hydrate deeply, and those are exactly my two main lip concerns.
The lip balm is, as expected, a squeeze out type. Which actually has advantages: it tends to be cleaner and more hygenic, and the product doesn’t change since it’s not in contact with oxygen or dirt.
This is right before and right after the first product application. The wrinkles are still there and the product is way too dense to get absorbed quickly, so it seems we have to wait and use for several times (as you will see later, that’s what I tried to do). The lip balm, other than dense, has a slight fruity scent (like fruit gummy worms), but nothing that would bother anyone, and it has a small texture I don’t understand what it is, and you can’t see it, so I really can’t put my finger on it.
This is just for reference, a few hours after. The texture particles seemed to peel my dead skin layer gently, so I thought I should show it.
After using it for 1 day and a half, I accidentally left it close to the heater. Not enough to melt it onto liquid state, nor into Vaseline state, but it lost all of that weird texture I told you about. So, it reminds me of a Carmex lip balm I tried once, it also had texture during the winter and it was very difficult to use but during the summer it was easy to spread.
So, I’m guessing this is the same and, while I’m using it, I’ll just keep it in my pocket to keep it relatively “melted”. To me this is a con, but my final judgment will depend solely on the effects of the balm since my lips are very difficult to deal with.
But at this point I did notice my lips are more hydrated. I wouldn’t say they’re plumper, but they feel less dry than usual.
On my third day of using this product, my lips are still peeling off the top layer of skin. I don’t know if it’s a reaction to one of the ingredients, or if it’s on purpose that they want all the top dead layer of skin to leave… So I decided to use it for a while longer. It doesn’t really show that it’s peeling until I scratch my lips with my nail, or clean it with a tissue.
On the fourth day I forgot this lip balm at home and used a Neutrogena one instead. Well, Neutrogena is an amazing brand which has healed my lips several times before. But, after 3 full days using this lip balm, Neutrogena had little to no effect on my lips, and they dried as if I were a 10 year old kid who hates lip balm. They dried like they haven’t dried in years.
On this note, I don’t know what this lip balm is doing to my lips, but to make them “miss” it this much means that it’s either a tremendously good product or a tremendously bad product. So, as soon as I got home on that day I put this lip balm again and everything went back to how it was on the third day, peeling the dead skin off. But wrinkle wise, my lips are looking way better.
After using it for only 7 days, before applying again. The package is literally half gone. And my lips don’t feel that much better than they usually do so… Overall, to put it short, the lip balm has made it easier to remove the dead skin, reduced my lip wrinkles a little, but it didn’t really moisturize it any more than another lip balm. And the package is almost empty in only one week. I know I use a lot of it (my lips dry in one to two hours) so it’s practically impossible for me to afford.
This didn’t bother me at all, but I know some people worry about these things. The lip balm when it sticks to a mug or glass, don’t let it dry because it gets really hard there and it’s really complicated to wash it off.
For better explanation of how I feel, this product has the same moisturizing effect as Vaseline. The wrinkle reduction effect is 25% better than Vaseline. Exfoliation wise it is an amazing product. Of course, it is better than almost every other lip balm I have tried, but so is Vaseline (in the case of extremely dry lips).
I am not satisfied with this product. To me it was a waste of money and a disappointment considering the promises they made. The only good thing that came out of it was my lip peeling without me trying and without any pain. I will use the remaining product solely as a lip exfoliating method, and will moisturize my lips in other ways. When it comes to repurchasing: I will, if I get it on nice discount because it is a great lip exfoliating balm.
I know Koreans love this product (I have read their reviews) but this is my honest opinion, according to my experience. My guess is this product is good for average lips, but it’s no better than others for extremely dry lips.
