Missha Near Skin Madecanol Cream Review:

This cream or rather ointment, as its texture is more balmy than ordinary cream, is of no colour, no fragrance and it comes in typical apothecary tube with conveniently marked “opened date”. Very convenient and very practical. When applied, the cream feels so nice, silky and very, very moisturizing. Even the driest of the skins I think would not object.

Madecanol Complex: Madecassoside (active compound derived from Centella Asiatica) + Centella Extract + Pathenol promise to work together for the cause of skin barrier repairing and skin retexturing.

Niacinamide for skin brightening and calming the inflammation.

Missha Near Skin Madecanol Cream Review

Missha says “Ointment-like texture. Absorbs into skin quickly and without causing oiliness or stickiness, ideal for daily use.“

And this is where Madecanol Cream and my skin got apart. As I said, very moisturizing. But unfortunately doesn’t absorb into my skin quickly and does cause, oh sweet Lord (!) oiliness that I can’t stand. My skin is basically normal with compromised skin barrier due to rosacea and because of that gets easily dehydrated.

Last time it was oily it was in my puberty. Madecanol Cream made me feel young again. Young, as teenager young.

Missha Near Skin Madecanol Cream Review

Ok, I understand I am to blame here. Why? Because I should have known better that the rosacea skin doesn’t like ointments and balmy textures, heavy by their nature. I got confused by the very name of this product – Cream, and got carried away with its claims. You say “damaged skin barrier”, I say “buy now”.

Now to the ingredients list full of emollients, humectants and – oils. Nevertheless, olive oil. I love it. I use it every day and olive oil is the oil of my life. I have lived my whole life surrounded by the olive trees. But in this formulation, it’s a no. Somehow, isn’t working for me.

But! I have the driest hands ever. When I applied this cream to my hands that nothing, and I mean nothing could moisturize enough, magic happened. My skin absorbed it quickly and happily. It remained nice and without dry patches for hours. Not one cream or the balm ever managed to do that.

Also my décolletage loves it. The glow, the glamour. So, all the kudos for this cream applied there.

Sadly, this cream and my skin got separated citing irreconcilable differences. No, they will not get back together.

I recommend this to other skin types, particularly dry with dry patches. Definitely not for oily or combination skin types.
