[REVIEW] Shiseido Senka Perfect White Clay Cleansing Foam

Shiseido Senka Perfect White Clay Cleansing Foam Review:

Well, this brand SENKA is very popular these days! I’ve seen a lot of people opened pre-order SENKA from Malaysia, Japan, and Singapore. However, you may notice that the variant I’m using is not THAT famous SENKA variant.

I use SENKA Perfect White Clay while the popular one is SENKA Perfect Whip. SENKA Perfect Whip is said to be very effective and does its claim very well despite the economical price. So, will SENKA Perfect White Clay just be a dead duck compared to its sibling or not?

+ Includes naturally derived silk essence and dual hyaluronic acid

+ Light and fresh floral fragrance

Shiseido Senka Perfect White Clay Cleansing Foam Review:

I bought SENKA Perfect White Clay during my trip to Kuala Lumpur since my origin country doesn’t import it. It comes in a white tube packaging with the weight of 120 grams. It has a flip-top cap with a quite big hole to pump the product out. I personally think this hole is a little bit too big, especially because you will just need a corn kernel-sized product to cleanse all your face and neck.

On the front part, there’s a small sticker attached, said ‘5X Dense Foam Brightening Power with Silk Essence’ to accentuate its claim. At the back, you can see full features of product claim, directions to use, manufacturer, cautions, and ingredients. It was originally printed in Japanese since SENKA is a Japan brand, however an English version was overwritten on it (thanks GOD!).

SENKA Perfect White Clay has a dense texture, makes it possible to use just a small size to cleanse your whole face + neck. This is an economical benefit – a little goes a long long way. After using it for 4 months, I still have around half-a-tube. Its smell is very nice too, like a milky and soft smell.

SENKA Perfect White Clay claims to remove ‘dullness-causing dead skin cells and impurities lodged deep inside the pores’ and at the end, ‘brighten the overall skin tone’. On short words, I’d like to say SENKA Perfect White Clay does a perfect job in cleansing face, as you can see in the picture.

The most important thing, SENKA Perfect White Clay doesn’t make my skin feel dry nor stretched after application. However, it doesn’t seem to ‘brighten the overall skin tone’, since I personally don’t believe that a product could instantly brighten one’s skin.

The picture of SENKA Perfect White Clay usage could explain more than enough, I think. For a reference, I applied my everyday make-up (top to bottom):

Etude House Any Cushion Color Corrector,
Natural Make-Up Powder 3W Clinic Professional,
Emina Agent of Brow,
The Face Shop Lovely Me:ex Catch My Eyeliner,
Etude House Bling Bling Eye Stick,
Etude House Dear Darling Tint, and
Secret Key Red Carpet Tattoo Tint.

Shiseido Senka Perfect White Clay Cleansing Foam Review

As you can see, there are some traces left after cleansing it once using cleansing water. However, I always double-cleanse my face with the cleansing water first, then SENKA Perfect White Clay. The photo shows how my skin looks like after being double-cleansed with SENKA Perfect White Clay as a final touch.

In conclusion, SENKA Perfect White Clay does a good job cleansing my face, while doing it without drying skin out. I would recommend this product for anyone, but beware with its ‘alcohol’ ingredients. Although it doesn’t affect the smell nor the after-usage impression, there are some people who might be allergic to alcohol.

According to ingredients analysis by cosdna, there are also some preservatives that could harm your skin like Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Metabisulfite, Potassium Sorbate, and other ingredients like BHT and PEG-90M.

Wiil I repurchase? No. SENKA Perfect White Clay is good, but I still want to try other products, especially the ones with better ingredients.
