[REVIEW] Skinfood Tea Tree Secret Spot Patch | Before & After Pics

Skinfood Tea Tree Secret Spot Patch Review:

When I ran out of my favorite acne patch and it was also sold out everywhere, finally I had to move forward to another brand. I actually did not search any reviews on internet though I’m not that experienced with acne patch products. Just by seeing this product was ready on my favorite online shop, I immediately ordered it.

I chose Skinfood Tea Tree Secret Spot Patch because it contains tea tree leaf oil which I believe, is a good ingredient to beat blemishes effectively as it contains strong antibacterial and antifungal components. I rarely use Skinfood skincare products, I usually buy only their makeup line, but since this brand is well-known for their natural and great formula, so I expected this product would give a good result for my acne prone skin.

The package. What should I write about it? Literally it is the same thing that you can see on the pictures, hehe. I think Skinfood should add more information in English (it’s so tragic for me who can read Hangul but don’t understand the meaning, LOL). So, let’s skip the outer package and meet the patches.

One pocket contains 12 patches that cling on a clear film. I thought the patches would have the same size but they actually came in two different size. It’s a good idea though, the big patches are for big pimples and the others are for smaller pimples. The diameter of the big patches is about 14 mm while the small one is about 11 mm. A very right size, not too big nor too small.

I hope my pictures are clear enough to show you how the actual appearance of the patches. Well, the patch is colorless and it is a bit hazy too, so it is not fully transparent. I like it since it will give a blur effect when attached onto blemishes. The patches are also very thin and they cling strongly on the clear film, but it is still quite easy to peel off the patches from the film.

Since each patch has great adhesive, thus it clings perfectly on my skin as well. When attach the patch on my skin, I usually press gently and hold it for 3-5 seconds. Once it’s done, it will adhere like forever on my skin. Even when I used it on my oily skin, it didn’t move easily nor accidentally fall down.

Ah, I have a funny experience with this patch. So I used a patch and forgot that it was still on my face. I washed off my face and then realized that the patch still sat perfectly like nothing happened, ahaha. You can imagine how good the adhesiveness of the patches. But do not worry, when attached on skin, there is no uncomfortable feeling. You may forget that you put it on your skin, just like me, LOL.

As I mentioned that the patch has a blur effect when put onto skin. And yes, it helps to cover redness around the blemish itself. The coverage is not as perfect as a concealer, but it is pretty decent. The very thin and clear patch adheres seamlessly on skin.

It is almost invisible, except you look closely or light it up. I am not sure if you like to use acne patch before your makeup routine or otherwise. If you do, you need a big effort to apply and blend your foundation, so it will look natural on your skin and nobody notice that you wear an acne patch under your makeup.

I must say that I am very impressed with how the patches worked on my blemishes. Each patch worked so well more than I expected. You can see on the pictures. I had two pimples on my face, the first one is a kind of papule and the bottom, with pus inside, is a pustule (*Fyi, papule is a form of acne that appears as inflamed lesion, generally is red, sensitive and can be painful. Meanwhile, pustule is inflamed lesion that usually pus-filled, thus it appears white or yellowish on the top).I attached the patches on the pimples and left on the patches about 10 hours.

Day 1 (after using the first patches), my papule was treated so nicely. It’s still red and not fully recovered yet, but the bump and redness were reduced and it felt much better than before. It was not that hurt anymore. Meanwhile, the pus inside my pustule was completely absorbed and left a little redness.

Day 2 (after using the second patches), both of my pimples were recovered. They were still a bit red but the redness disappeared after several days without scars afterwards. I’m so happy.

It was not painful at all when I removed the patch from my skin, though it clung strongly. And right after removing the patch, I did not feel it dried my skin. It had no sticky feeling as well. The patch worked so nice and gentle. Its formula is suitable for all skin types, even the sensitive one. This patch doesn’t contain a hydrocolloid dressing but I am satisfied with the way they formulated each patch to cover acne while delivering a medicine at the same time.

I recommend Skinfood Tea Tree Secret Spot Patch for daily use as its gentle formula that treats acne and keeps skin away from dryness as well. This acne patch works good for minor pimples like papules and pustules, but I am not sure for the severe form of acne like nodules and cysts, you may need a professional treatment for those cases (*Nodules are a severe type of acne which develop under the skin, do not contain pus and can be very painful. Cysts are a severe type of acne that inflamed and filled with pus, usually come in a lot of amount).

However, acne patch is a great way to treat and heal acne as it acts like a protective layer that treats acne and prevents from bacteria infection. Especially for you who like popping your pimples (pustules), acne patch can help to stop your naughty fingers from doing that bad habit. And one of the recommended acne patch from me is this Skinfood Tea Tree Secret Spot Patch.
