[REVIEW] Skinfood White Dandelion Derma Care Lotion Mask

Skinfood White Dandelion Derma Care Lotion Mask was purchased by Cosmeperks.

It took me almost two weeks to find this product because ordering it online alone would be a waste of shipping cost, and in stores it was either sold out or selling in packs of 10. Finally I found it and admired all its greatness! Dandelion is one of the prettiest flowers, and for those of you who are Disney fans: I always feel like Belle for a brief moment when I see these flowers.

I have no idea how dandelion is good for our skin and I didn’t even know there are non-white dandelions, so I guess there is already a lot of things I’m learning thanks to this mask. There are non-white dandelions in Korean language, they are a type of chrysanthemum – I guess that explains the white dandelion mystery.

Claims:

– Cares and moisturizes dry skin, reinforces the skin barrier with the derma solution lotion essence.

– White dandelions from Jiri-san, allantoin and eco-ceramide stimulate the skin barrier and protect the skin.

– 100% eucalyptus cellulose mask sheet.

You can see here the white dandelion they mean. It looks like something between a daisy and a chrysanthemum. It’s a very popular flower here at this time of the year, from bouquets to teas you can find it everywhere!

It opens as easily as paper (well, the outside is basically paper, so it makes sense, right?) but it splatters a little all over while opening. There were very small drops of water in my hands and table, although you can’t see it on the photo.

The mask looks delicious just by opening. No particular smell but it’s a white mask sheet with a white-ish transparent essence, it looks rich and moist as soon as you put your eyes on it.

The mask sheet itself is super (emphasis there) soft and fluffy, and it’s definitely one of the softest I have ever tried – if not the softest. It feels like a gentle cotton flower. Or like cotton candy on your mouth. Just soft and merging with your skin in the best possible way.

It adheres well enough but it’s nothing special when it comes to adherence. I shouldn’t talk too much while this is on. But I do like the fit in general, even though it has a few small flaws (as you can see it lifts on the side of my nose – which I corrected by putting my glasses on). The size of the mask, nose, eyes, and mouth part are all good enough for me too.

The mask feels magical as soon as I apply it, and it feels as gentle and warm as mother’s love… on skin. The smell is very discreet and it’s plant-y but unfortunately I can’t tell you what plant exactly it smells like.

The essence is soft and gentle on the skin, and it’s not really liquid but it does melt well on the skin, like a light lotion.

While wearing the mask the essence is not only not-aggressive on the skin at any moment, but on the contrary it’s soothing. And the best part is that the feeling of relief of the first moment of soothing stays the same throughout all the 20 minutes, instead of disappearing like in other soothing masks.

The essence takes time to absorb but is not sticky at all at any moment.

Once the 20 minutes were up the mask was still moist and I’m sure lots of you who like to use the masks until they start drying could leave it on for at least another 5 to 10 minutes.

The results are satisfying. It’s moisturizing and soothing, as they promised. You can see on the top row my skin before the mask, and on the bottom after the mask.

After this I went to sleep, and, with the help of a sleeping mask, my skin maintained this comfort and moisture throughout the night.

For moisture I give it 5/5 for normal and combination skin types. It might not be moisturizing enough as a night mask for dry skin types (not without appropriate night skin care like on a day dry skins don’t use mask), and it might be too moisturizing for really oily skins.

For soothing I give it 3.8/5 since it does soothe but not as immediately and not as well as specialization masks (like The Face Shop’s Dr. Belmeur mask).

Comfort also 5/5 since it’s one of the best things to ever touch my face.
