SOME BY MI Galactomyces Pure Vitamin C Glow Toner was purchased by Cosmeperks.
To my ears, SOME BY MI is a pretty new brand. It’s well-known to most people for the 30-days Miracle line, while the brand proclaim itself to have relatively safe and beneficial ingredients. It also prints the brand’s logo beside this tagline : “SOME BY MI’S MIND : Remarkable skin transformation from natural ingredients’. Fascinating, right?
Although I have relatively normal skin, I always think that uneven skin tone is the unresolved one problem for me. I’ve been rambling around many skincare products yet I found no treatment to make my complexion more even. So when I was given the rare chance to do a sponsored review from Nigama (Cosmeperks), I gladly accepted the option of SOME BY MI Galactomyces Pure Vitamin C Glow Toner. This product was newly-launched and the advertisement is quite captivating too (must be one of the reasons why it was on the list), so had to go with this!
However, before we move out, I’m gonna warn you that this review could be a little bit long, seeing that this toner contains vitamin C as one of its star ingredients. Personally, I have very scant experience with this component, so I’ll include some research to support my review.

SOME BY MI Galactomyces Pure Vitamin C Glow Toner Review:
This product is a part of the new line of SOME BY MI Galactomyces Pure Vitamin C Glow. People are mostly familiar with the green-packaged SOME BY MI 30-days Miracle line, so this Galactomyces Pure Vitamin C line is quite easily distinguished.
SOME BY MI Galactomyces Pure Vitamin C Toner (and the serum from the same line) comes in a dark brown-colored, plastic bottle inserted to a white-colored box as a secondary packaging.
SOME BY MI always seals the box with a tiny sticker to ensure the product is brand-new. As to prevent the product from spilling out, the hole is sealed tight with an aluminum foil.
I couldn’t find many helpful information both on the box and the bottle, sadly. Especially for the major information such as ingredients, cautions, and usage directions that would be an important consideration. Turns out the SOME BY MI 30-days Miracle line has the same drawback so personally I hope SOME BY MI will improve this in the future.
I was curious regarding the dark-colored bottle, whether it’s just for an aesthetic motive or not, and turns out the color is designed to prevent the damage of vitamin C. Vitamin C is a particularly vulnerable antioxidant when exposed to UV light, so the packaging must protect vitamin C or its effectiveness will gradually become diminished.
One notable sign is oxidized discoloration that turns the product brown. That’s why products containing vitamin C typically come in dark glass bottles, just like SOME BY MI does with this product.
SOME BY MI Galactomyces Pure Vitamin C Toner has watery texture and a kind of yellowish color, but with quite strong acidic scent. This product emphasize the relatively high vitamin C content, so I guess this ingredient does influence the scent. However, seeing the scent isn’t lingering too long after being applied, I don’t categorized this as a minus point.
All I could smell on my skin that time was a very slight scent of burnt-sugar (this must be the caramel). On the contrary, I was quite impressed since the first time I used SOME BY MI Galactomyces Pure Vitamin C Toner, as I could vividly feel the differences from my previous toner.
I was very glad every time I use this product, seeing that it needed little time to absorb. I did feel some light tingling sensations on my face during first three to five days of usage, but it wasn’t irritating. This feeling made me curious though, whether vitamin C content had any role with this reaction and what exactly was happened that trigger it.
Turns out vitamin C is one of the ingredients that often lead to a tingling sensation (besides other typically exfoliators such as BHA and AHA). Since they exfoliate the skin, they will take a little bit of the top skin layer, which draws to a sting. The skin is newer underneath and all the dead skin cells have been exfoliated.
However, I’d like to explain briefly the ppm content written in most ingredients which in this case, is important because it states the amount of vitamin C.
As you can see in the ingredients list, the ascorbic acid (vitamin C) dosage per product is 10,000 ppm. Ppm itself is short for part per million, so 10,000 ppm means 0.01 grams/L or 1%. Well, this amount might seem very small for you, but it’s different for your skin.
According to some sources, Vitamin C serums usually has 10% – 20% vitamin C content, and the number 1% is still quite notable especially for a watery products like toners. Moreover, other researches state that 0.6% vitamin C is enough to show differences on your skin. And SOME BY MI ought to think this amount is quite something too, since they provided dark-colored bottle to this line.
I don’t think a toner product in general could show any results in such a short time. At least three months are needed, I guess. That’s why I use my face’s sides to distinguish SOME BY MI Galactomyces Pure Vitamin C Toner’s effect from my previous toner’s (Secret Key Milk Brightening Toner); right side for Secret Key toner and left side for SOME BY MI toner. I was able to see some differences and I’ll elaborate some beneficial effects from this SOME BY MI Galactomyces Pure Vitamin C Toner I’ve had.
- Generally smoother and more moisturized. After a week usage, I felt my left side was smoother. Thus, it also healthier and more moisturized even after being washed using cleansing foam while the other side was felt quite rough due to the foam’s effect.
- Made my skin firmer and free from small pimples. When the right side sometimes had small hormonal pimples, my left side didn’t. I assume the GFF and Adenosine contents really play important roles here.
- Slightly and temporary improve my skin tone. I had some uneven skin tone, reddish on the cheek. I noticed my left side was slightly more even although just a little and just temporary. The effect of Niacinamide and Vitamin C? Hope this effect would last longer as I keep using this product .
Sometimes, I found myself inadvertently put my hands on my face because it’s so smooth and pleasant to touch! So, aside from the tingling sensation during the first days (I guess this was an adaptation reaction from my skin), this product gave nice impression to my skin. I should also added the fact that galactomyces content suits my skin very well all this time.
While the comparisons between what SOME BY MI Galactomyces Pure Vitamin C Toner claims vs. what it does to my skin are :
- Brighten skin and maintain it. Absolutely brighten my skin temporarily; ‘to maintain it’ is still questionable.
- Moisturize skin. Checked!
- Make skin healthier. Checked!
- Soften skin texture. Checked!
- Soothe irritated skin. Couldn’t be proved as my skin is normal.
According to cosDNA, SOME BY MI Galactomyces Pure Vitamin C Toner has relatively low-risk ingredients. One only has to be careful for the fragrance content which show medium risk number of cosDNA. So, I would personally recommend SOME BY MI Galactomyces Pure Vitamin C Toner for anyone!
I’m even curious to try the SOME BY MI Galactomyces Pure Vitamin C Serum to experience better effect on my skin. However, I must warn any sensitive skin bearers. GFF content might not harm you since it rarely triggers any allergies, but vitamin C does something to exfoliate and it’s acidic too. I also suggest you to read and google more about this product, since web advertisement promotes a lot more than what I’ve been writing here.
