[REVIEW] CLIO Dermatory Hypoallergenic Sun Fluid Tinted SPF50+ PA++++

CLIO Dermatory Hypoallergenic Sun Fluid Tinted Review

CLIO Dermatory Hypoallergenic Sun Fluid Tinted Review:

After trying Dermatory’s hypoallergenic emollient (emulsion) I became curious about their other products and when I saw that they had released two new sunscreens with mineral filters I decided to try the tinted out one. As I’ve probably mentioned many times before (oops hehe) I usually prefer mineral filters because the chemical ones make my skin sting/burn and often they somehow seem really oily to me.

Naturally, the problem with mineral ones are that they are so white and make people look like ghosts. Helpfully, Dermatory released two mineral sunscreens – a tinted one and a non-tinted one. Since I haven’t tried a tinted sunscreen before I decided to try the tinted version, I also noticed the ingredient lists are slightly different, with the tinted one having the titanium dioxide slightly higher than the non-tinted one.

Of course, I was worried that the tinted one might be way too dark for me or look odd but I figured it wouldn’t look worse than any bb cream that was too dark for me. Coincidentally, after I ordered this sunscreen I realised it also contained “Thanakha” which is a plant extract from Myanmar used as a sunscreen, it was also in the Secret Key sunscreen I reviewed. I guess Thanakha is an ingredient which is now gaining attention in Korea? Although I don’t think there is much scientific research into it, but it’s still an interesting ingredient to have in the sunscreen.

[REVIEW+SWATCHES] Moonshot Microfit Cushion SPF50+/PA+++ 301 Natural Beige

Moonshot Microfit Cushion SPF50+ PA+++ 301 Natural Beige Review

Moonshot Microfit Cushion SPF50+/PA+++ 301 Natural Beige Review:

Moonshot is a brand I’ve always been interested in due to its chic, sleek and often minimalist aesthetic. If I remember correctly, I first heard of the brand due to its popular Jelly Pots, which were raved about by various beauty bloggers a few years back. However, due to scarcity in local stores (I often prefer to swatch makeup products beforehand) and their products’ often mid-high price tag, I eventually just shrugged the urge off.

However, when a flagship Moonshot store opened up locally and later held a number of products on sale, I decided to give in and ended up getting myself one of their cushions as I was coincidentally running out of base makeup. So, how did the Microfit Cushion – or also known as the “GD/G-Dragon Cushion” hold up in humid climate?

[REVIEW] Clio Nudism Moist Fit Powder Pact 02 Lingerie

Clio Nudism Moist Fit Powder Pact 02 Lingerie Review

Clio Nudism Moist Fit Powder Pact 02 Lingerie Review:

As a girl with a very oily T-zone, to set that area with a powder is a must. My cheeks area has dry patches so mainly I use powder only on the T-zone, chin, a little bit on the outer part of my cheek (just to set the foundation so blush, bronzer, and highlighter can be applied more smoothly), and under eyes area to set my concealer.

I had tried so many powders, from compact powder to loose powder but so far I found that my skin hates loose powder. It’s too drying and emphasis my textures while for compact powder, they are too cakey and I found only one powder that looks good on my skin but unfortunately it’s too expensive and I can’t keep purchasing it.

When I was searching for a good Korean powder (since it’s more affordable and easy to get), I saw Clio has a ‘Moist Powder’ as part of their Nudism collection. I knew Nudism cushion is really popular but I never saw anyone talking about this powder but based on their website, the powder seems to have a moist effect and won’t make skin looks dry. They claim this powder will suit every skin type, even dry skin because it contains essence that gives moisture while it mattifies the skin at the same time. I was really excited to find a powder with a skincare benefit!

They only have 3 shades and from the picture, I’m pretty sure the shades are good for fair to light-medium skin tones. Not rare for a Korean brand but usually Clio has wider shade range so it’s a bit unexpected for them to have 3 shades only.

[REVIEW] Gaondodam Pure All In One Moisturizer

Gaondodam Pure All In One Moisturizer Review

Gaondodam Pure All In One Moisturizer Review:

I got this product last year and it has a surprising amount of product (for a facial cream) and so it took me forever to finish. However, I am writing this review after finishing the whole pot, so you know right away that I liked it “at least enough”. But this brand isn’t that well known nor that appreciated, so even if it’s for general knowledge I think it deserves a review!

[REVIEW] The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA

The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA Review

The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA Review:

Admittedly, I always tend to stray away from most hyped up things in fear of being disappointed and/or underwhelmed. Hence, the main reason why I’m only now offering up a review for one of The Ordinary’s various skincare products; this in particular being a destashed item from my friend as she found it to not work for her (allergic reactions, irritation, etc). Thinking that it’d be worth a try considering my penchant for anything targeting pigmentation issues (arbutin is a well-known skin brightening agent!), I decided to put it to the test. Would the YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary) rule ring true?

[REVIEW] New Etude House Soon Jung Moist Relief All In One Gel

Etude House Soon Jung Moist Relief All In One Gel Review

Etude House Soon Jung Moist Relief All In One Gel Review:(Product purchased by Cosmeperks)

Ever since Etude House Soon Jung line was released I tried… virtually everything they have, with the exception of the two latest products (this soothing gel and the sun cream). I didn’t get my hands on the sun cream yet, but this soothing gel has been on and off promotions since release, and I thought since I loved most of the collection, and since I loved the similar Innisfree Ato Soothing gel, then there is a high chance I will love this one too! I do love soothing gels afterall.

[REVIEW] Innisfree Seaweed Soothing Mask Sheet Moist Soothing Sargassaceae

Innisfree Seaweed Soothing Mask Sheet Moist Soothing Sargassaceae Review

Innisfree Seaweed Soothing Mask Sheet Moist Soothing Sargassaceae Review:

Lately I have been using a lot of masks made out of seaweed, since it’s a fashion currently in Korea. I must say beforehand this mask has nothing to do with the Mamonde Seaweed Dustcut mask! I mean, maybe a little, after all it’s seaweed, but there are other masks this is more similar to. Seaweed should be good for the summer, and Jeju is the place in Korea with the most (and the best) natural resources – so Innisfree being a Jeju brand it’s no use they used Jeju seaweed. Although you may be surprised with the other ingredients in the mask, and their origins.

[REVIEW] Bonajour Extreme Spot Serum

Bonajour Extreme Spot Serum Review

Bonajour Extreme Spot Serum Review:

When I first got this serum and started using it I thought it was just a good serum to plump sensitive skin. But then I moved houses and in two days of stress and dust my skin went back 10 years and I got infected stress pimples that, believe me, really hurt. For those two days all I could think is when would I get to unpack this serum – it was my last hope. I find that Bonajour products are simple, healthy and yet effective. So of course I bet my whole skin recovery on this.

[REVIEW] 2018 NEW Cosrx Low pH First Cleansing Milk Gel

Cosrx Low pH First Cleansing Milk Gel Review

Cosrx Low pH First Cleansing Milk Gel was purchased by Cosmeperks.

Ever since I learned about oil cleansing and double cleansing I’ve faithfully been using oil cleansers at night, but there are times when I got totally sick of using them. In those times I tried some Western micellar waters, but somehow, I found them more drying than the oil cleansers and they didn’t remove my sunscreen that well. So, even though I was completely sick of using an oil cleanser I felt as though there wasn’t another option. I had heard of cleansing milks as well but the ones I heard about seemed unable to remove sunscreen so I never bothered to try them either, but I always was curious about cleansing milks.

So naturally when I heard Cosrx was coming out with a first cleanser – and a milk type one of course I was interested in it and eager to try it. Even more so when I read that it removes sunscreen as well as base make up, because that is pretty much what I look for in a first cleanser, something to remove sunscreen and light make up. That alone made me want to buy it but also the fact that it’s made by Cosrx was the other deciding factor for me. After all, Cosrx is well known and loved internationally for their clean ingredient lists, no frills packaging and for being effective skin care products which are also reasonably priced.

You might wonder what a cleansing milk is, after all they don’t seem to be as well known as oil cleansing or as easy to find. They are designed to be more moisturizing and less stripping than other cleansers and are good for dry skin. Milk cleansers usually have a mix emollients and oils so they can remove make up as well as sunscreen. Since it is winter right now, I wanted to try something that would be gentler and less drying for my skin, so I hoped that this cleansing milk would be the perfect solution.
