[REVIEW] Moonshot Multi Protection UV FIXER SPF50+ PA+++

Moonshot Multi Protection UV FIXER SPF50+ PA+++ Review

Moonshot Multi Protection UV FIXER SPF50+ PA+++ Review:

The summer season in Hong Kong means extreme heat and humidity — not the best conditions for my oily and acne-prone skin. It also makes skincare and makeup application a bit of a challenge — it’s always a race to put my “face” on before I start sweating it off. When I found out that Moonshot was coming out with a primer that claimed to not only make makeup last longer but also provide strong UV protection, I knew I had to give it a go.

I have tried a few Moonshot makeup products in the past and haven’t been disappointed, so I had high hopes for their newly-released Multi Protection UV FIXER SPF 50+ PA+++.

[REVIEW] The History of Whoo Gongjinhyang: Seol Radiant White Moisture Cushion Foundation #21

The History of Whoo Gongjinhyang: Seol Radiant White Moisture Cushion Foundation #21 Review

The History of Whoo Gongjinhyang: Seol Radiant White Moisture Cushion Foundation #21 Review:

Normally I look at limited edition cushions and wonder why people would buy them. Until of course I saw pictures of this spring limited edition cushion. I couldn’t help but fall in love with the design at the first sight, yup it’s official I go crazy over cherry blossom (sakura) designs. Oops. At first, I resisted the urge to buy this, because it is certainly a luxury item and very pricey! It sat in my cart for a week while I decided whether to buy it or not.

In the end the design won me over, but also the fact that it came with a refill, and a loose powder sample made me decide to just buy it. I wouldn’t usually buy something this expensive and luxurious, but luckily, that week I got a bonus from my job so I was feeling rich enough to buy this. The fact that I got the bonus made me feel like it was a sign to buy this cushion. (Is it obvious I was looking for any excuse to buy this? Heh.) If you’re curious to see whether it is was worth it to buy this luxury limited edition cushion, keep reading…

[REVIEW] Estee Lauder Micro Essence Skin Activating Treatment Lotion

Estee Lauder Micro Essence Skin Activating Treatment Lotion Review

Estee Lauder Micro Essence Skin Activating Treatment Lotion Review:

I’ve been flirting with this essence since January 2014 when it was first released, however for this product to reach the shelves of EU it took a while, as essences are usually promoted and developed mostly for the Asian markets. I finally managed to get a bottle on March 2018 from Notino for 60.90 euro and I’ve been using it twice a day since.

Kose Sekkisei Medicated Lotion Review

Kose Sekkisei Medicated Lotion Review:

The first time I discovered the Kose Sekkisei Medicated Lotion was around 2011, when I saw Taiwanese actress Ariel Lin endorsing the products in her drama “In Time With You”.

I was still a teenager back then and I remember being intrigued by that product in a beautiful sapphire blue jar. After looking at the price tag online I gave up, but I swore one day I would get to try this luxury beauty product by myself.

Well, fast forward a few years, I finally tried it, and here’s my review on it.

[REVIEW] Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer Crème Light 5

Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer Crème Light 5 Review

Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer Crème Light 5 Review:

Honestly my least favorite part on my face is my undereyes area. It’s dry, full of fine lines, and they are so dark. I have really bad dark circles under my eyes and I have to apply concealer to lighten those up everytime I want to leave my house.

That’s why concealer is a staple thing in my collection, it’s something I need to bring everytime I go on a trip. I tried so many concealers before, from the cheapest one to those which prices are so up there I can’t even understand why I bought them. But I keep buying them just to try different brands and until now I only have 2 favorites so far.

This time I decided to purchase the infamous concealer from Kat Von D, the Lock-It Concealer Crème. If I remember correctly, they released a concealer with a similar name in a small tube packaging but they upgraded to this new version.

[REVIEW] Huxley Secret of Sahara Toner; Extract It

Huxley Secret of Sahara Toner; Extract It Review

Huxley Secret of Sahara Toner; Extract It Review:

I have to admit this… I am all about aesthetics. If there is a product with excellent reviews but comes in an unattractive packaging, I would give it an immediate pass. I need my skincare family to work for my skin as well as look pretty on my skincare shelf.

So having said this, I got myself sucked into the Huxley hype because lets face it, their packaging is everything. The design is minimal yet luxe, so I convinced myself that I needed another hydrating toner (I didn’t need another toner obviously, but that is besides the point). I was actually pretty wary about the strong Huxley signature scent that everyone kept talking about; it is either they love it or they feel it is overpowering. Now, I would normally avoid strong scented products, but I succumbed to the beautiful packaging and just went for it!

[REVIEW] Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Mask

Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Mask Review

Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Mask was purchased by Cosme Perks.

It is my first mask from this luxury brand, Sulwhasoo. Well, who doesn’t know Sulwhasoo? This Korean premium brand is well known for its high performance skincare products using all natural ginseng and herbal ingredients. Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Mask itself is very popular on some beauty forums in my country (the First Care Activating Serum is also said to be a best-selling product from this brand). Almost all (or maybe all) of the reviewers give this mask a high rating. And I was so lucky to get a chance to test it by myself. Curiously, why a lot of people like this mask, I was so excited to give it a try.

The interesting claim from this Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Mask is about the JAUM Balancing Complex™, which is designed to improve skin balance. I guess I need to try this formula since I have an oily-combi skin. I have very dry patches on cheek area but my T-zone is very oily. Yes, I need to balance it, right? They also claim the essence of this mask was made by precious Korean herbal ingredients, and we all know that mostly Korean herbal products work very very well. But, is that true? Do not waste our time and let’s find out if I agree with those reviewers who give it a high score, or otherwise?

[REVIEW] Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque

Kiehl's Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque Review

Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque Review:

First, let’s get a bit of our knowledge on the history of the brand.
Kiehl’s is one of the most prestagious brand name when it comes to high-end skincare products.
In 1951, there was a store founded to serve patrons in East Village, Manhattan. Until 1894, John Kiehl purchased the store and renamed it Kiehl Pharmacy. In 1921, Irving Morse – apprentice to Kiehl bought the pharmacy. This marks another remarkable developing stage of the brand. During the 70s, Kiehl’s gained great popularity as a luxurious cosmetics brand with safe ingredients and especially, the launch of the renown Calendula Herbal extract Alcohol-free toner. The distinct marketing method of Kiehl’s during this time is based on word-of-mouth and giving free samples to customers. Later, Kiehl’s is purchased by L’oreal Group and now, Kiehl’s has more than 250 stores and showrooms all over the world. Until now, Kiehl’s has gained the reputation for their wide range of products: haircare, skincare, fragrance, bodycare and men’s grooming. All of the products from Kiehl’s are well-known for their natural-based and safe ingredients offered via sophisticated formulations.

To celebrate my bachelor graduation, I decided to get something a bit fancy and Kiehl’s masks came first in my mind. Moreover, the Spring weather in Vietnam is getting so hot and humid. Everyday in the period from early January to March, the temperature would rocket from 28oC to as high as 34-35oC at noon and then “calm down” back to 27-28oC in the evening. Usually, my skin would lose immense amount of hydration and produce a lot of sebum if left unattended.

Combining all of the conditions, I would opt for something that offers refreshing sensation, helps control my sebum production and clears up my congested pores. Up till this point, you may know what I was about to get: yes, you can tell by the title already haha. It’s the Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque. My summary review for this product is: I love it x 10 times.
