[REVIEW] Holika Holika Good Cera Super Ceramide Emulsion

Holika Holika Good Cera Super Ceramide Emulsion Review

Holika Holika Good Cera Super Ceramide Emulsion Review:

Ceramides are something that always interest me, so I tend to be interested in products that mention or contain ceramides. I had never tried anything from Holika Holika either, but when I saw that they had this ceramide emulsion I became curious and had many questions. In the past I totally ignored emulsions because I never found one that worked well for me, that was until I tried the Dermatory Hypoallergenic Emollient. After having such a great experience with that emulsion, I was curious to see if another ceramide emulsion would work as well for me as the Dermatory one had.

Holika Holika had another version of this ceramide emulsion in the past, and then they reformulated it. But the previous version seemed to have great reviews and I noticed that this emulsion had three types of ceramides which made me instantly want to try it. I’ve been using this emulsion since May, and the other day I noticed that I had almost finished it, so it felt like the right time to do a review of it.

JAYJUN Real Water Brightening Black Cream Review

JAYJUN Real Water Brightening Black Cream Review:

I came upon this cream while browsing on Yestyle, and decided to give it a try since it was on sale. I’ve had a good history with Jayjun’s sheet masks so I was curious as to whether their skincare line was just as good.

[REVIEW] Guerisson 9 Complex Moisture Balancing Cream

Guerisson 9 Complex Moisture Balancing Cream Review

Guerisson 9 Complex Moisture Balancing Cream Review:

Horse oil was one of the ingredients that I never wished to ever use on my skin. However, after using a routine with multiple steps that never seemed to help my skin, I got to the point where I decided to just try horse oil and see if it would help my skin. It felt like I could never find a moisturizer that was heavy enough for my skin, or a routine that actually did something.

So almost a year ago, I decided to reset my routine and so I cut everything out of it except my sunscreen and the Guerisson 9 Complex cream. It was risky, considering I never had tried the cream before and I was replacing a ten-step routine with two items. I expected my skin to look even worse that before, but what surprised me was that my skin looked no worse (and no better) but considering I was only use two items it was still surprising to me.

After that I slowly introduced a few new products, and what I found was that the Guerisson 9 Complex cream was the best cream I had ever used (despite me not wanting to use horse oil… heh). It was actually heavy enough for my skin and perfect, and my skin looked the best it had looked in years. Anyway, so that was the original 9 complex cream. When I was using my second jar of it I looked at the Guerisson website and found out that they had reformulated and the cream and added a new cream to the line-up. I was honestly a bit upset, but also curious to find out about the new cream.

The new Guerisson 9 Complex cream is the one in this review – the Moisture Balancing cream. The other two creams (the original one and the ginseng one) had the formula’s changed slightly although I’m not sure what has been changed. I never intended to try the moisture balancing cream, but as I said I was curious about it, so I looked up to see what was different from the regular one. Well it turned out that instead of just horse oil this one contains five types of ceramides! If that doesn’t sound like heaven for dry and dehydrated skin, I don’t know what would. Plus, I found out this one was designed for dehydrated skin, so honestly it sounded so perfect that I just had to try it out.

[REVIEW] Gaondodam Pure All In One Moisturizer

Gaondodam Pure All In One Moisturizer Review

Gaondodam Pure All In One Moisturizer Review:

I got this product last year and it has a surprising amount of product (for a facial cream) and so it took me forever to finish. However, I am writing this review after finishing the whole pot, so you know right away that I liked it “at least enough”. But this brand isn’t that well known nor that appreciated, so even if it’s for general knowledge I think it deserves a review!

[REVIEW] Innisfree Seaweed Soothing Mask Sheet Moist Soothing Sargassaceae

Innisfree Seaweed Soothing Mask Sheet Moist Soothing Sargassaceae Review

Innisfree Seaweed Soothing Mask Sheet Moist Soothing Sargassaceae Review:

Lately I have been using a lot of masks made out of seaweed, since it’s a fashion currently in Korea. I must say beforehand this mask has nothing to do with the Mamonde Seaweed Dustcut mask! I mean, maybe a little, after all it’s seaweed, but there are other masks this is more similar to. Seaweed should be good for the summer, and Jeju is the place in Korea with the most (and the best) natural resources – so Innisfree being a Jeju brand it’s no use they used Jeju seaweed. Although you may be surprised with the other ingredients in the mask, and their origins.

[REVIEW] Scinic Ceramide 100 All in One Ampoule

Scinic Ceramide 100 All in One Ampoule Review

Scinic Ceramide 100 All in One Ampoule Review:

Scinic is well known for their Honey all in one ampoule, and it’s an ampoule that many people enjoy using, so naturally when Scinic came out with three new ampoules I was curious to see how they would compare to the old ones. They actually came out in 2017 so they aren’t that new (oops) but it seems that not many people have tried them or written about them. The new (ceramide, centella and vitamin c) ampoules are larger (300ml) than the honey, aqua and snail ones, and also come with a pump which makes them more convenient to use.

I couldn’t resist buying (and trying) this ceramide ampoule when I found out it also contained shea butter. I’ve always been looking for products that contain both of these things because I think it sounds like a good combination. The fact that there were no reviews made me a bit nervous but in the end I just decided to try it out, even if it was a bit of a risky purchase. Read on to see if my risky purchase was a good or bad idea.

[REVIEW] Polatam Pure Cream Firming Radiance Mask

Polatam Pure Cream Firming Radiance Mask Review

Polatam Pure Cream Firming Radiance Mask Review:

Polatam is a brand I’ve frequently seen around and heard about, but due to the price tag, have always been wondering about from afar. Claimed to be created by Park Tam Hee, an acclaimed Korean actress with a keen knowledge of beauty and skincare, the Polatam skincare range definitely caught my eye more due to its chic packaging more than anything.

Overall very clean and classy, with interesting notable ingredients thrown about, I was definitely excited when I was gifted a couple of masks from this range to try out. But the question remains: does the quality/experience reflect its price tag?

[REVIEW] Secret Key Thanakha Mild Sun Cream SPF47 PA+++

Secret Key Thanakha Mild Sun Cream SPF47 PA+++ Review

Secret Key Thanakha Mild Sun Cream SPF47 PA+++ Review:

The sun is something that is both amazing and scary – in the way that it brightens and lightens our days and yet too much sun exposure can give us skin cancer. I guess it isn’t something that bothers or worries everyone, but as someone who lives in a place with extremely high skin cancer rates it does bother me. Because of this I’m always researching for new or different sunscreens because I never know when one will be discontinued, or whether I’ll find one that I like using more. I usually have a bunch of sunscreens on my radar that I plan to try at some stage or another and I found this sunscreen the last time I was looking for one.

I often choose sunscreens after looking at the sunscreen filters, I don’t generally care too much about the other ingredients which may or not be a bad thing. But what I look for is a sunscreen that protects against both types of UVA rays (and UVB rays too). Some sunscreens only partially protect against all of the range of UVA rays, which automatically rules them out for me. It’s another reason I like mineral sunscreens because the mineral filters protect against all the types of UV rays (UVA1, UVA2 and UVB) so it’s easy (for a lazy person like me) to check if it protects well against UVA rays. Phew I wrote a lot of boring stuff, right? Unsurprisingly I mostly chose this sunscreen because it was a mineral sunscreen and I had good experience with the last Secret Key sunscreen. Not the most exciting reason, but somehow this sunscreen appealed more than any of the others I had been researching, so read on if you’re curious to see how well it performed.

[REVIEW] Yadah Oh My Sun Slush SPF50+/PA+++

Yadah Oh My Sun Slush SPF50+PA+++ Review

Yadah Oh My Sun Slush SPF50+/PA+++ Review:

To be honest, I’ve always been quite intrigued with Yadah’s skincare line. It’s not the most raved about brand, I think, but it does pride itself on being “natural” and sensitive skin-friendly, so that certainly got my attention. However, since I try not to spend impulsively in general (although I do have strong urges… don’t we all?) I couldn’t really find a reason to purchase anything from the brand because I had other products to use up first. So when I received this in a gift exchange among friends last year, I was very excited.
