During puberty, I was lucky enough to have an acne-free face. I do, however, suffer from having a very dull skin. My face may be blemish free yet I feel that something is really wrong with it. A friend once suggested me to use astringent to remove the dead skin but I was really hesitant because I feel that it is way too harsh on skin. 10 years later and I still wear this dull-looking face; still have this negative perception towards peeling. To address this issue, I am in constant search for products that could alleviate my skin condition in a gentle yet effective way. From sugar scrubs to peeling gels –where some are effective and most are just meh; now I am giving this Neogen Dermalogy Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling Lemon a shot, because why not?
Innisfree Jeju Lava Sea Water Deep Essence Review:
So, I have been in a struggle for a few months, trying to get rid of my blemishes and trying to normalize my pores’ shapes (they’re supposed to be round, but mine have all sorts of shapes). According to an examination I did in the Innisfree store, where they measure your skin everything-levels, my blemishes and pores could be solved with one of two essences. This one, or the one from the orchid collection. So, for starters I chose Innisfree Jeju Lava Sea Water Deep Essence.
Just to break the suspense, it did work, but I will still try the other one, in case it works better for my specific case. Below I will analyze the essence independently of my skin goal, and focusing solely on the feeling and sensation, also the effects of this essence!
Cosrx Galactomyces 95 Whitening Power Essence Review:
I remember it well when I first encountered essence –it was in the summer of 2013 that I went to South Korea to spend my Holy Week vacation. My best friend and I were shopping for BB Creams (Yes, it was the talk of the town around that time!) and you know how Koreans are so generous, they take their GWP’s very seriously. I ended up coming home with a bunch of essence samples! Initially, I thought essence is pretty much like moisturizer.
I had to do some research to understand the art of Korean skincare and it sure did take some time for me to embrace THE CONCEPT. Admittedly, I’ve been using one on and off since then. It is only recently that I am being obsessed to achieve that chok chok skin. I want my essence to have a brightening effect not simply moisturizing. I was in search for one but I don’t really want to spend that much for a product, hey I can be frugal sometimes. COSRX is a brand that I can get my hands on easily and definitely won’t burn my pocket so I tried their Galactomyces 95 Whitening Power Essence.
Skinfood Black Sugar Strawberry Mask Wash Off Review:
While Skinfood has been around for some time and is even locally available for me, I haven’t really had a chance to try out any of their product as their market doesn’t appeal that much to me. I just feel that much of the product cost is due to the cutesy and sturdy packaging but I just had to pick up this tub just because!
Came Ber-months last year and it has gotten a little bit cold. My skin got a bit flaky and it feels like I’ve got a lot of dead skin on my face. Not wanting to do extreme like chemical exfoliating, I looked for products that could do the job sans punishing my skin that I ended up getting this baby!
Innisfree Bija Cica Balm Review:
As an avid Innisfree fan of course I wanted to try this product as soon as it was announced. Of course I took the opportunity and applied for a tester set of 5 days. Innisfree Bija Cica Balm was released with the same base idea of the previous True Care Cica Intensive balm, and everyone in Korea went crazy as soon as it came out. It doesn’t retail for a particularly cheap price, 22000 KRW, but also not expensive enough that it would stop people from trying it. Continue reading if it really worth the hype or not.
Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask Aloe Review:
I do love Innisfree. However, I am not biased when I judge their products – what happens is that in the end I like their products more than I like other companies’ in general (a couple of exceptions do exist, of course). So, when I first received an Aloe squeeze mask as a shopping gift, my first thought was to judge it hard. Aloe doesn’t really match my body (as said by my Korean medicine doctor – and confirmed on those times I decided to ignore him and do the opposite of what he said). But I did receive a free mask and decided to try it – why not?
Innisfree Green Tea Cleansing Foam Review:
I’ve always been interested in trying Innisfree products because of the hype of their 5 free claim. I really like how this brand seems to really focus on including natural products. Originally I wanted to try the Jeju Volcanic Pore Line, but decided that I wanted to branch out into using products like green tea and tea tree because they’re supposed to be great for blemished skin.
Zymogen Houttuynia Cordata Ferment Lotion Review:
After having trouble with acne for a long time I stared taking real actions, looking for good Korean skin care , for acne prone skin. Though my skin type isn’t the typical oilly/acne prone skin –its more dry to combination. So it can be really hard to find a product that fights pimples without drying your skin out making it all flakey and even more hard to handle. I came across Zymogen Houttuynia Cordata Ferment Lotion during my search and gave it a chance. Let’s see how it worked for my skin.
Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner Review:
I’ve been hooked up with Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner since the first time I saw Wishtrend’s youtube video. The introduction to this product looked so promising and I was in need of new toner at that time. The toner is targeted for those who want to add moisture to the skin that might be stripped away during the cleansing process.
I chose hydrating toner over exfoliating toner because at this moment, I want to treat my dehydrated skin condition and I think to use exfoliating toner every day may be too harsh for my skin. So, I need to suck in all the moisture as much as I can. Read more to find how this toner fared me.
