[REVIEW] Tonymoly Tako Pore One Shot Nose Pack

Tonymoly Tako Pore One Shot Nose Pack Review:

When talking about skin problems, it must be endless. When I am done with annoying pimples then other problems come. Whitehead and blackhead. Oh dear! But I am not a kind of girl who gives up easily, I am a fighter (well, actually a lazy fighter, LOL). I am only interested with easy and simple treatment to remove comedo from my nose area, hence I like using nose pack once or twice a week. This way is quite effective as far as I use it regularly. My favorite product was Biore Pore Pack until another brand teased me with their new collection. That’s Tonymoly Tako Pore series that had just launched in July, 2017.

Tonymoly Tako Pore series are created to resolve annoying blackheads and excess sebum problems. Tonymoly released some products in this line and the first one that catched my attention was its Tako Pore One Shot Nose Pack. No other reason, I was truly attracted with the wide and unique shape of the strip. Besides, when I read the ingredients list I found this nose pack has great combination of Marine Plant extracts and Madagascar Mud. Those are great to absorb excess sebum and a pore-tightening effect. Let’s see how it works!

[REVIEW] The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution

[REVIEW] The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution

The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution Review:

What happens when you combine science, environmentalism and effective marketing? Boom, The Ordinary, a name that immediately became household even to people that don’t really care about skincare. That happened not only because their prices are the cheapest on the market but because they make products that actually work. No, The Ordinary didn’t invent new technologies that do magic on your skin. If you quickly google it you will find that there’s other brands with similar products. That’s not the main point though. The point is that The Ordinary made as effective products- if not more effective, for a tiny fraction of the price. In my opinion they are making a revolution. They are proving that skincare can be for everyone. If one brand is really doing a lot to make people’s skin better, that is The Ordinary.

Now jumping to this peel, out of all the actives I’d say AHA and vitamin C are the most well-known. About a year ago, I went through an ”I need actives to function properly” faze. I’m not really proud about it, but as soon as I saw 30% AHA it must’ve taken me less than 2 minutes to buy this peel. The reason is that AHA and BHA (which by the way actually works better on my skin), are known to be effective deep exfoliants that help with fighting acne and for improve the skin’s look.

[REVIEW] The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2%

[REVIEW] The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2%

The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2% Review:

I have always wanted to incorporate acid into my skincare routine but I always hesitate because I fear that it may end up causing skin damage instead of improving it. There are way too many precautions when using it that I thought to myself, is it even worth the plunge? But then, my other self won’t stop nagging: you wouldn’t know unless you try!

It goes without telling that in the end, my guts won, otherwise, I wouldn’t be here talking about acid. Truth be told, The Ordinary Lactic Acid is not the first active that I have tried, it’s my second actually. I bought this because I was looking for a milder alternative since I am a little overwhelmed by its bold sister –The Ordinary AHA 30%  BHA 2% Peeling Solution but hey, that’s another story!

[REVIEW] Nature Republic Natural 100% Jelly Cleansing Puff Konjac Sponge

[REVIEW] Nature Republic Natural 100% Jelly Cleansing Puff Konjac Sponge

Nature Republic Natural 100% Jelly Cleansing Puff Konjac Sponge Review:

Ever since I started being engrossed by skincare and diving head first into Korean skincare in particular, one of the first points I have always come across is cleansing. If you want your skin to be as clear, healthy, and radiant as possible, then consistent cleansing is a must, especially physical exfoliating.

I for one enjoy physical exfoliation and was searching for a product that would get rid of the clinging peeling skin on my forehead (after being sun burnt) with as little force as possible without any micro beads or tiny particles that would be abrasive to my sensitive skin. And after researching and finding enthusiastic reviews of Nature Republic vegetable konjac cleansing puff on the internet, I decided to try it out.

[REVIEW] The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Solution

[REVIEW] The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Solution

The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Solution Review:

The Ordinary brand has made a huge wave in the skincare industry for its super affordable products, and every skincare addict would own at least one The Ordinary item. I wanted to jump on The Ordinary bandwagon as well (don’t want to miss out on the hype, now do we?), but I was overwhelmed with all of the products! I didn’t even know where to start looking. I did not want to go with the cult favourite just because of the rave.

I wanted to get something that I really need in my routine. So I started evaluating my skin concerns and it seems like I already have the products to address those issues, except for a spot treatment that I have yet to find one that actually works. I don’t exactly have acne problem but of course I do get occassional clogged pores and hormonal breakouts when it is the time of the month. Therefore I decided to jump on The Ordinary bandwagon starting with the Salicylic Acid 2% Solution, which also happens to be my first ever BHA product.

[REVIEW] Skinmiso Pore Corset Serum

Skinmiso Pore Corset Serum Review:

As I have enlarged pores dotting my nose (urgh!), I am constantly on the lookout for any product that claims to tighten pores / shrink pores / refine pores / make pores less visible….you get the gist. So I was quite excited when I read about this serum which in my mind would function exactly as how a corset would and tighten my unsightly pores.

[REVIEW] J.ONE Jelly Pack

[REVIEW] J.ONE Jelly Pack

J.one Jelly Pack Review:

I kept seeing this J.one jelly pack coming up in K-beauty reviews, but it never quite caught my attention sufficiently to read the reviews because of its very plain packaging. Neither do the name of “jelly pack” help because I have no idea what it is for.

Then I saw it on the highly popular Korean beauty show “Get it Beauty”. The J.one jelly pack is developed by a popular Korean actress Ha Ji-won, to meet the needs of busy on-the-good women like her. I was enticed by its multi-functions claim of being hydrating, pore-smoothing and especially the tagline used by Ha Ji-won is that it is a “corset for your face” ie. firming and lifting. In addition, the jelly pack is free of ingredients that are generally frowned upon – parabens, mineral oils, sulfates and phthalates. Doesn’t that sounds just like what I need for my complicated skin type?

CNP Laboratory Daily Peeling Foam Review:

After falling in love with the CNP Laboratory Tone-up Protection Sun, I started to pay more interest to products by this brand. The background of starting as a dermatology clinic and its philosophy of producing high quality skincare products lend me confidence that CNP products should hit the right note with my skin. What next caught my eye is the CNP Laboratory Daily Peeling Foam.

[REVIEW] Skinfood Pore Control Fresh Apple Cream

[REVIEW] Skinfood Pore Control Fresh Apple Cream

Skinfood Pore control Fresh Apple Cream Review:

I got this cream a few months back, what happened was I was desperate to get rid of my sebum, and my pores were crazily enlarged. But my skin is combination and I wouldn’t just jump like crazy to some random cream, since risking dry skin is not something I would want (I had it while I was a teen and had acne and oil everywhere, my face was frying potatoes and snowing at the same time). So I nonchalantly walked into the store and told the lady “I’m looking for something that will help me with my sebum and pores, but that will keep my skin moist throughout the day” and I got two products! This was one of them.
