iUNIK Propolis Vitamin Synergy Serum Review

iUNIK Propolis Vitamin Synergy Serum Review:

It is a constant struggle to find something for my dehydrated yet oily skin. Since I loved the COSRX ultimate moisturizing honey mask so much, I decided to search online for propolis related serums or moisturizers. That is when I found the iUNIK propolis serum! I was impressed by their high percentage of propolis extract at 70% for their affordable price at 22SGD (US16) dollars, and decided to take the plunge and purchase it for myself!

[REVIEW] Innisfree Seaweed Moist Soothing Mask Jeju Sea Mustard

Innisfree Seaweed Moist Soothing Mask Jeju Sea Mustard Review

Innisfree Seaweed Moist Soothing Mask Jeju Sea Mustard Review:

The second seaweed mask from Innisfree that they made for this summer! I had already reviewed the previous and am very curious as whether there are any differences or if they are basically the same mask with different ingredients. They also made two cooling masks, but that’s another story.

This mask is supposed to be rich in hydration with sodium hyaluronate, hydrolyzed collagen, and seaweed extract, so in theory it’s the perfect mask for me!

[REVIEW] Mamonde Day Relief BB Cream SPF 50+ PA+++ Light Beige

Mamonde Day Relief BB Cream SPF 50 PA Light Beige Review

Mamonde Day Relief BB Cream SPF 50+ PA+++ Light Beige Review:

Mamonde is actually a brand that I don’t know much about, of course I’ve heard their name a lot but I still didn’t know much about them. I always think of their products having lots of floral components and concepts. I’ve also seen their name or products advertised in dramas, but usually when I’m watching a drama I don’t pay much attention to the products advertised. Lately I’ve been quite curious about their products and was debating which one to try until I saw that they had released a new line of BB creams.

They actually came out with three new BB creams, but I chose this one because according to Mamonde it is best suited for dry skin. Mamonde actually released these several months ago, but I was unsure if I should try this one or one of the other types. The fact that it comes in one shade – light beige, made me unsure too.

But the fact that it should be pink toned made me curious. All of the previous bb creams I’ve tried that are meant to have a pink undertone have been various shades of orange and yellow on me at least. So, you could say I partly tried this to see what kind of undertone it had and to see if it was also yellow/orange on me too. I was hopeful that Mamonde would prove me wrong and that I might even find a decent bb cream out of this experiment.

[REVIEW] Pyunkang Yul Moisture Serum

Pyunkang Yul Moisture Serum Review

Pyunkang Yul Moisture Serum Review:

Pyunkang Yul is a skincare brand launched from the renowned Pyunkang Oriental Medicine Clinic in Korea, which primarily treats atopic skin disorders. Aiming to revolutionize how you approach skincare, the brand advises to not just consider your skin type, but to also consider your body and environment when choosing products.

Thus, the birth of a line of products targeting a healthy oil-moisture skin balance in conjunction with traditional Chinese medicine – a very interesting idea in the sea of trendy ingredients and advertising in the oversaturated K-Beauty market.

So, although I am a bit late to the PKY party (to the point that they’ve now launched a new ACNE line), I wanted to give a well-thought out review after a decent duration of time. With naturally heaty facial skin and doomed to a humid climate day in and day out, did the Moisture Serum work out well for me?

[REVIEW] Purito Defence Barrier pH Cleanser

Purito Defence Barrier pH Cleanser Review

Purito Defence Barrier pH Cleanser Review:

Purito is a Korean brand that’s been making waves recently, mostly online in the Instagram beauty community, at least from what I’ve seen. Touting itself as brand with “safe and honest ingredients that everyone – friends, family, and even babies – can have faith in”, I have to say that they’ve set some pretty high standards for themselves.

So while I can see that the ingredients used in their products seem promising, you can never know how a product would work for you unless you try it for yourselves. Which is why when I received this as a gift from a friend for my birthday, I was delighted and intrigued. But does this cleanser live up to Purito’s claim of being mild and sensitive-skin friendly?

[REVIEW] Naruko AMPM Total Brightening Renewal Treatment Mandelic Acid 5%

Naruko AMPM Total Brightening Renewal Treatment Mandelic Acid 5% Review

Naruko AMPM Total Brightening Renewal Treatment Mandelic Acid 5% Review:

Ah, I remember I was still a newbie in skincare when I first purchased this product. After ditching those pesky physical scrubs, strengthening my basic routine and used (and also got bored of) konjac sponge, I decided to jump into the world of chemical exfoliations.

Of course, before jumping in, I read a lot of stuff. I wanted to try AHA first to get rid of my acne scars and to brighten my complexion and all the other stuff AHA is supposed to do. After reading and researching a lot about AHA, I decided to try mandelic acid as it is considered suitable for a newbie like me. And after further research, I found this product, AMPM Total Brightening Renewal Treatment Mandelic Acid 5% and it is easy to get at the nearby drugstore in my area. I kinda don’t want to wait which is why I decided not to buy it online, haha.

[REVIEW] Etude House UV Double Cut Clear Sun Stick SPF 50+ PA++++

Etude House UV Double Cut Clear Sun Stick SPF 50+ PA++++ Review

Etude House UV Double Cut Clear Sun Stick SPF 50+ PA++++ Review:

I didn’t notice when Etude House posted their UV Double Cut series on their social media account until I watched Law Of The Jungle where Red Velvet’s Seulgi using this product and, yes, I wanted to try it out too. Perfect timing since I needed to buy a new sunscreen at the moment.

So, Etude House UV Double Cut line consists of 3 products which are Fresh Sun Gel SPF 50+ PA++++, Moisture Tone Up Sun Fluid SPF 48 PA+++ and Clear Sun Stick SPF 50+ PA++++. All of them are interesting, though. The Fresh Sun Gel is well marked as the best seller and winner of Marie Claire’s Smart Beauty Award. The Moisture Tone Up Sun Fluid has extra function to brighten up skin tone. And the Clear Sun Stick looks very easy and quick to use.

To be honest, I eliminated the Moisture Tone Up Sun Fluid once I read it highly contains Titanium Dioxide (it tends to, or absolutely will, leave whitecast and I want to avoid that). I did the same for Fresh Sun Gel since it has alcohol in its ingredients list. I know, I sound too picky but I really want a friendly product for my sensitive skin without any whitecast effect, so yeah, the Clear Sun Stick seemed to be the best choice.

[REVIEW] The Saem Eco Earth Power Green Sun Cream SPF50 PA++++

The Saem Eco Earth Power Green Sun Cream SPF50 PA++++ Review

The Saem Eco Earth Power Green Sun Cream SPF50 PA++++ Review:

I’ve been using The Saem’s Pink sun cream for almost a year now, and you can say that while I’ve grown bored of it, it’s still the one sunscreen that I always reach for. Earlier this year when I went to order it, I noticed that The Saem had a couple of different sunscreens, ones that I had never seen before, namely this green sun cream. Naturally, I looked it up and found that the ingredients looked very similar to the pink one.

Because I find the pink one a bit drying in winter, I wondered whether the green version would be more moisturizing and better for winter than the pink version. I decided to try the green version out after noticing that titanium dioxide was higher up in the ingredients list than in the pink version. Mostly I just decided to try it out because I was feeling bored with the pink version of the sunscreen.

[REVIEW] Guerisson 9 Complex Moisture Balancing Cream

Guerisson 9 Complex Moisture Balancing Cream Review

Guerisson 9 Complex Moisture Balancing Cream Review:

Horse oil was one of the ingredients that I never wished to ever use on my skin. However, after using a routine with multiple steps that never seemed to help my skin, I got to the point where I decided to just try horse oil and see if it would help my skin. It felt like I could never find a moisturizer that was heavy enough for my skin, or a routine that actually did something.

So almost a year ago, I decided to reset my routine and so I cut everything out of it except my sunscreen and the Guerisson 9 Complex cream. It was risky, considering I never had tried the cream before and I was replacing a ten-step routine with two items. I expected my skin to look even worse that before, but what surprised me was that my skin looked no worse (and no better) but considering I was only use two items it was still surprising to me.

After that I slowly introduced a few new products, and what I found was that the Guerisson 9 Complex cream was the best cream I had ever used (despite me not wanting to use horse oil… heh). It was actually heavy enough for my skin and perfect, and my skin looked the best it had looked in years. Anyway, so that was the original 9 complex cream. When I was using my second jar of it I looked at the Guerisson website and found out that they had reformulated and the cream and added a new cream to the line-up. I was honestly a bit upset, but also curious to find out about the new cream.

The new Guerisson 9 Complex cream is the one in this review – the Moisture Balancing cream. The other two creams (the original one and the ginseng one) had the formula’s changed slightly although I’m not sure what has been changed. I never intended to try the moisture balancing cream, but as I said I was curious about it, so I looked up to see what was different from the regular one. Well it turned out that instead of just horse oil this one contains five types of ceramides! If that doesn’t sound like heaven for dry and dehydrated skin, I don’t know what would. Plus, I found out this one was designed for dehydrated skin, so honestly it sounded so perfect that I just had to try it out.
