[Review] The Face Shop Dr.Belmeur Soothing Gauze Sheet Mask

The Face Shop Dr.Belmeur Soothing Gauze Sheet Mask Review:

Dr. Belmeur is a section from The Face Shop brand (like The Therapy) and is focused on sensitive skin. It existed before Etude House’s Soon Jung collection, and yet I only heard about it recently!

I tried to participate in a contest to win Dr. Belmeur’s items, and I failed and got nothing from that attempt. But since I was really curious about the collection I went to the store and bought this mask! The even brighter side is that I got this mask and samples from the same collection. I didn’t use the samples yet, but I have used the mask and I have thoughts on it, thoughts I would like to share with you.

Volume: 30g

How to use:

After washing the face, finish cleansing the skin with toner. Open the pouch, apply the gauze sheet to the face. Remove the sheet after 15 to 20 minutes. Pat the remaining contents lightly to promote absorption.

My Skin Type:

Oily T, dry U, sensitive, blemishes easily, and allergic. Dry, sensitive and allergic lips. Very thin, dehydrated and oily eyelids.

It opened really easily, I really have to stress out that it was very easy to open, even for a clutz like me.

It was however almost impossible to get out of the pouch. It was terribly slippery, because of the combination of the materials of the mask and the essence. And, as you can see, when I did remove it from the pouch, it was not drenched at all.

You can see the gauze and the plastic base easily, so I’m sure you won’t make any mistakes when applying it.

The gauze feels like it has small air bubbles inside when I press it against my skin. It’s a tremendously thick mask sheet, even though it is very transparent. Even though it is that thick and it was difficult to get out of the pouch, it adheres very well to the skin, it doesn’t unstick nor slides down while waiting.

The essence feels very sticky if you massage it, but not sticky at all if you let it absorb without touching it. The same happened later when I had to absorb the one on my face.

The essence is a really thick gel type and has almost no scent. Also, I can’t identify the scent they used…

After the time was up I removed the mask, and it wasn’t dry at all. Removing the mask feels like removing a gel mask that leaves a thinner gel film on the skin.

The mask does have very good results! I couldn’t find a single red or bothered spot, and I had a lot of  red pimples before I started. The skin looks really calm. I would say this mask is perfect for treating sensitive skin, as long as you double check if the ingredients match you or not.

It heals the skin issues but I have to say it doesn’t protect the skin. Although it feels like it does. I made the mistake of thinking it protected the skin and went out without my dust block, so when I got home my skin was all sensitive again.  But I loved how it healed though.

I will definitely purchase it again when my skin has a harder time.
