[REVIEW] The Face Shop Single Blush BR01 Dust Rose

The Face Shop Single Blush BR01 Dust Rose Review:

It took me a while to get my hands on The Face Shop’s Single Blush in Dust Rose, just because it is so darn popular. It was sold out all the time in Hong Kong and restocking takes forever, so imagine my surprise when I saw hundreds of these blushes at one of The Face Shop branches in Myeongdong!

Clearly it’s a well-loved product, best known for its shade in Dust Rose (#BR01) which has a more sophisticated vibe that works well with pretty much any bold eye or lip look in providing a natural flush of color.

First off, it’s quite a small pan with very minimal packaging. The pan is encased in a small case with a transparent plastic lid so that you can immediately see the shade of the blush, which is quite convenient. It’s nothing to get excited over nor will it necessarily add to the aesthetic to your vanity, but it’s sturdy and great for travel.

You don’t get a lot of product, and with the rectangular design of the pan, it’s not as great for brush-swiping as, say, a large round pan.

The Face Shop’s Single Blush comes in a total of 8 shades, ranging from a variety of your typical blush colors — all shades of pink, coral, orange, lavender — and even includes a contour color.

As mentioned above, Dust Rose (#BR01) is by far the most popular shade, at least from what I’ve seen in stores (it’s always out of stock) and online (in articles and YouTube videos).

In the pan, it is a slightly darker cool-toned dirty pink with minimal hints of beige. However, it applies a little lighter than the color in the pan. Surprisingly, the blush is not very pigmented, but it is buildable, so you can adjust the intensity to your liking.

With two swipes in the plan to one cheek, it applies quite naturally as a very slight flush of color — nothing too obvious. For a powdered blush, the product’s finish is as you would expect — matte.

For my oily skin, it lasts all day (which in my case is usually around 8 hours). I would say that the oil control is fairly good for a powdered blush since it looks freshly-applied all day — although my cheeks don’t get very oily anyways.

Ultimately, I think that this is a great, affordable blush if it comes in a color that you happen to enjoy! I love this Dust Rose (#BR01) shade because it’s so natural and works well with pretty much any makeup look, so if you are looking for a similar deeper hue, give this a go!
