[REVIEW] The Face Shop The Solution Moisturizing Face Mask

The Face Shop The Solution Moisturizing Face Mask Review:

The myriad of sheet masks available makes me see stars each time. Even within the same brand, there are many different types to choose from. I got The Solution Moisturising Face Mask at the same shopping trip where I purchased the Yehwadam Revitalizing Moisturising Cream because it was having a one plus one promotion as well.

So I bought 10 pieces of the masks at the price for 5, thinking I can gift this to someone else should it not suit me and feel lesser of a pinch. Another reason I bought the masks was also because I was into trying out skincare with ceramide which claims to repair skin barrier. Besides the Moisturising Mask, there are another 9 different formulation in this series to cater to various needs.

♥ The Solution is a basic functional mask sheet line that delivers honest solutions using medicinal ingredients for all skin concerns which include moisturizing, soothing, brightening, firming, and many more.

♥ The Moisturising Mask contains ceramides to provide a moisturizing solution to dry, rough skin and is formulated without added parabens.

The Face Shop The Solution Moisturizing Face Mask Review:

Each sheet mask is covered with a plastic film. It does make unfolding the sheet easier and there is no worries of accidentally tearing the delicate thin sheet whilst unfolding.

Although only at 20g, the sheet mask is soaked full of essence. Nothing much left in the packaging though, so not much extras to go onto the neck. It has a fresh scent, but I suspect it is not something everyone will take to. I have no issue with it each time I use.

Yet, as I was writing the review, I sniffed at it many times trying to trigger my mind on what the scent resembles and I have to say, after a while, I felt rather surfeited with the smell.

The mask is approximately 21cm in diameter and fits me well, covering my entire face. The cut-outs for the eyes, nose and mouth are slightly smaller than the Banobagi Jelly Mask that I had reviewed previously, but still fine for me.

The sheet is easy to adjust because it is thin and adheres well. I tried the mask with and without putting in the refrigerator prior and both gave a cooling sensation on the skin.

The Face Shop The Solution Moisturizing Face Mask Review

It feels very moisturizing the moment it goes onto the face. I do follow the instructions and leave it on for up to 20 minutes and the mask is still damp when removed. The face immediately feels plump and soothe on removing the mask. The remaining essence on the face is quickly absorbed with some patting, and the face does not feel tacky.

However, my face is always flushed thereafter. It does not feel irritated, just red. At first I thought maybe my skin was not in a good condition the day I first used it. But it always happened whenever I use this mask on subsequent occasions.

I am not sure if this is an adverse reaction to any of the ingredients. I always do my mask before bedtime, so I just let it be and go to sleep. The redness does go away the next day. My skincare products do seem to absorb better after each mask pampering session.

My skin also feels more balanced and less oily. It does not last though, so I think the effects of sheet masks are not long term.

Notwithstanding the redness, this mask hits the right note for me in terms of moisturizing. It is a good perk-me-up especially if I have an event to attend the next day. It is especially a good buy during promotions. I may repurchase the other types in this series to see if my skin agrees with them better.

  1. hello. i have the solution with the BHA variant. i havent used it since the moment i saw the indredients list Alcohol Denat is the top 3rd list and that should be why your face flushed: since alcohol denat is irritating and astringent (make your face less oily in instant, but long term will make your face produce more oil to make up the “i did produce it but why it’s missing” your skin feels). Surprisingly they use bad alcohol like alcohol denat not the good emolient alcohol like cetyl alcohol or stearyl alcohol, so for now i am putting on hold to try use that mask and will try to browse through more reviews.

i wont making too much fuss if its on the few last bottom part of the ingredient list since alcohol denat helps with product absorption but on 3rd ingredient what ingredient it helps to absorb since there are more irritating ingredient than the moisturizing one.

in the end though skincare react differently to everyone’s skin and your mileage will vary but i will try to avoid more alcohol denat (sometimes written simply as alcohol)
