[REVIEW] The Face Shop x Marvel Mono Pop Eyes 02 Strong Red

The Face Shop x Marvel Mono Pop Eyes 02 Strong Red Review:

I knew it was too much for me to resist. I had the single shadows but I got this palette because it was too beautiful. Honestly, if there was an Avenger that was a makeup palette this would definitely be its outfit.

So, it comes in two colors, a black palette with blue and silver colors, and this one: a red palette with reds and browns. I chose this color literally because of the box, since the colors combinations themselves were both equally beautiful. And I think both warm and cool skin tones can wear blue and red (and silver and gold) with small changes for each skin tone so I didn’t worry about that!

If you read my reviews you already know I like to take a few moments to enjoy the packaging before and analyze it in a semi-rigorous manner.

Here we can see the beautiful texture in the design. The reason why it’s so attractive is because of being a print it’s an actual texture, very reminiscent of the new Spiderman’s suit. Or the new Marvel suit styles in general!

This palette closes with a small click, nothing special really. But it’s always good to show these details, I think!

Well I’m sorry I didn’t take a photo before I started using the palette so you could see the shadows in their immaculate perfection, but you can still see how attractive they are! Should I mention a flaw it’s that it has no brush or applicator.

But honestly, I prefer no brush than another sponge tip brush, those have to either have good quality or I prefer not using them at all. Also it does make the design more beautiful.

And THE POINT! (Screaming internally)

This is from the classic comics. Ironman originally had his suit under his clothes, much like Superman! They changed it recently, as you know, but it makes more sense with the new technology. Anyway, being a sucker for classics, I do enjoy this detail!

Here is the mirror protection that I am unlikely to ever peel off. But I did take a photo before I scratched it too much!

Here is the confusing part, so I will explain this beforehand. It’s regarding the photos and not the product. Seoul is very dark and grey, and my house lamps imitate day light. So even though it might not seem like it, when I say that something is day light I mean Seoul day light, and if I say indoors I really mean indoors!

However, with Seoul grey-ness you can see how it’ll look under the most unflattering lights and with my lamps you can see how it looks under daylight.

So let’s get started!

The above photo was taken indoors.

Here you can see the colors from left to right, top to bottom.

1-2-3 Shimmer, small shimmery glitter, matte with very imperceptible small glitter. 4-5-6 Shimmer, velvet matte, glitter. 7-8-9 Shimmer, velvet shimmer, velvet shimmer.

When I first swatched it I was very attracted the the 4-5-6 row of colors, and honestly that didn’t change at all! They are still my favorites.

Here I slid under the window and turned my lamp off, and so you get to see the grey-ness I was talking about. It makes the red colors look more cold than warm! So, if you are a cold tone you can still use this!

This day I had a very colorful outfit so I thought it better to have neutral makeup. You can still see color number 8 shining a slight purple. I used a very very small amount of color so that it would not be obvious. I love the colors after application.

They did not oxidate at all on my skin, much like the jelly colors from the same collection individual shadows! And the reds and blues they used in the palette and individual shadows are actually different!

I didn’t apply a primer but I applied the Innisfree No Sebum powder, which helps with my oil prevention.

This was after a long long day, walking under the humid weather and sun, although it has some gathering and some washed out color, I was out from 10am to past 6pm, and did no correcting or reapplication. The color, as I wrote in the photo, did wash out but it still kept some around and it didn’t feel like I was not wearing makeup.

The neutral colors are very boring, actually, but the red and purples are beautiful. If I could I would just make a palette with these reds, and the blues from the other palette.

Overall I think this palette is still better than others (especially comparing with others from the same brand) since the quality-price relation improved. And this palette has a really good color combination! If I didn’t have such a big makeup collection I would have this one, the black one, and probably not much else.

Quality and comfort wise I would give it a 4/5, duration a 3/5, colors and combination a 5/5, just in case I wasn’t clear enough.

Also, because it’s so gentle on the eyelids, they are velvety and soft, they don’t dry the eyelids at all, I think all skin types can use it – including sensitives.
