[REVIEW] The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Review:

Who has never heard The Ordinary brand before? Well, I’m sure everybody ever heard at least once. The Ordinary is such a hype; there’re many reasons for it, though. Maybe because of its economical price, or its specific claim for only particular problem of your skin, or because of its after-usage effect. That’s why I decided to give it a try.

Claims:

My Skin Type : Normal skin, oily on T-zone

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Review:

The Ordinary serum variant I tried might not be that familiar : Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5. I chose this variant due to its focus on hydrating, honestly. Hyaluronic Acid is widely known to hydrate and moisturize skin, and it’s usually added to any mask sheets or skincare products with that claim.

I was on a condition that requires me to live in a quite dry city, and work in a full air-conditioned building. A ‘nice’ condition for my skin, huh?

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2 B5 Review

The Ordinary – Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 serum comes in that normal packaging of The Ordinary serum. It serves in a small bottle with a pipette to suck the product. Although the bottle color is doff, you can still see the remaining volume as the bottle is semi-transparent.

Product’s label and closure are all white, with the detail is printed in black ink. It’s the same in the box. Very minimalist, but it’s attractive for me anyway. The inner part of the pipette is transparent, but was made by glass. Just be careful not to drop it; it would be annoying to broke the pipette.

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2 B5 Review

The Ordinary – Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 serum is odorless and colorless. Somehow it enhances the claim of not adding useless ingredients and I’m very thankful for it. The texture itself is runny, especially if you compare it with other variants of The Ordinary serum. I personally compare it with my sister’s The Ordinary – Niacinamide serum, and their texture is very different.

This Hyaluronic Acid serum would run downwards in your skin by the time you drop it from the pipette, while The Ordinary – Niacinamide serum would stick like a gel. That’s why I suggest anyone to push this product only pearl-sized first, then just repeat if you still need some more.

This is more efficient rather than waste this serum by dropping it to the floor. Also, this product absorbs very fast and leaves no heavy feeling. It just feels like before the usage. This is a plus, so that I shouldn’t wait too long before applying my cream.

The claim’s for The Ordinary – Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 serum is ‘repairing’ and ‘hydrating’. I’m not sure about ‘repairing’, since this effect would be auspicious for rough and dull skin, I guess. Nevertheless, I can say that my skin rarely has pimples nowadays, although my Secret Key – Starting Treatment Essence must be a major factor too. And for the ‘hydrating’ effect, I personally believe that hyaluronic acid component itself should be hydrating. I don’t feel my skin gets rough or dry despite my daily condition.

As for the ingredients, cosdna confirmed that there’s no harmful ingredients except for a preservatives. And since this product contains no alcohol and no paraben, I guess there’s nothing to worry about.

The Ordinary – Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 serum should be suitable for anyone, especially for oily skin bearers. It doesn’t give any heavy or greasy feeling even though it claims for hydrating. However, people with dry skin might think this product don’t hydrate at all, especially because of its fast absorption.

So, I recommend this serum for anyone, but a dry skin bearer should add other moisturizing products to their skincare routines. Do give this product a try!
