[REVIEW+SWATCHES] The Saem Mousse Candy Tint 6 Chai Tea

The Saem Mousse Candy Tint 6 Chai Tea Review:

Raise your hand if you’re a sucker for cute packaging! If you just did, then Korean lip tints are probably your biggest weakness (like me!). One of the cutest in my collection is definitely this The Saem Mousse Candy Tint (Disney edition). The original packaging is already cute but this one with Minnie Mouse on front is just extra adorable. Of course, cute packaging is nice and all but what we’re actually after is great quality right? Luckily, in this case, you can have both.

I first encountered this lip tint while browsing through Shopee but felt wary because there seems to be a lot of shops that sell fake versions of this. Nonetheless, my desire to try out this cutie didn’t stop me from buying it. I found a shop that sells an authentic one for a reasonable price (in my case it was around $5).

There are 10 shades to choose from: 01 Redmango, 02 Strawberry, 03 Carrot, 04 Grapefruit, 05 Yogurtberry, 06 Chai Tea, 07 Dark Cherry, 08 Apricot, 09 Peanut, and 10 Strawberry Cheese. The names of the shades are actually good descriptions of the colors they represent. I chose 06 Chai Tea, which is a darker rose shade, because it’s a color that I still didn’t have in my collection.

+ Makes your lips lively with powdery texture and vivid colors.

+ Long-lasting tint without dryness.

+ Refreshing fruit-juice colors and scents.

Volume: 8g

How to use:

1. Coat your lips from inside to outside with tint.

2. For a gradient look, apply only on the inside and blend outwards.

My skin type: My lips are a bit dry with noticeable lines. They are also pigmented specially near the edges so I prefer lip tints that are able to fully cover them.

I’ve used this lip tint countless of times already and is definitely one of my go-to for everyday use. Therefore, I can now share with you my complete thoughts on it.

Like I’ve said, the packaging is what drew me to this product. It’s super cute! The material is made from plastic but made to look like candy. It has typical doe-foot applicator. Since this has a short wand, precise application is incredibly easy to achieve.

This one straight up smells like tea and I love it! It’s such a unique scent for a lip product. I think that the scent for each shade is different though and most likely represents the color they have.

Consistency and feel:

As the name would suggest, this lip tint has a velvet or moussey consistency. Because of that, it’s not the most lightweight. You’ll definitely feel that you’re wearing a lip product but it’s comfortable since it’s not drying at all.

This doesn’t fully dry/set on the lips so smudging and transfer are definite problems with this one. I do suggest blotting with a tissue after application to remove excess product. I also use this as a cheek tint sometimes and find that it blends well and doesn’t dry out my cheeks either.

Pigmentation and longevity:

It’s super easy to get an even application and one layer is enough to fully cover even my dark colored lips. This is probably my most long wearing lip product (along with my Peripera Velvet Ink). I can totally get away with wearing this the whole day without reapplication because even though it transfers, it does leave a lovely tint that lasts for hours. To remove, I suggest you use an oil based cleanser.

I think you can already guess what my verdict on this tint is. I’m totally in love with it! As someone who owns more than 30 lip tints, this is easily on my top 3. I hope you’ll trust my opinion enough to get this one (particularly this shade) because this is an absolutely gem. As for me, I’m already contemplating on what shade I’m buying next.
