[REVIEW] The Saem Saemmul Real Gel Tint in shade 4 Chateau Burgundy

The Saem Saemmul Real Gel Tint in shade 4 Chateau Burgundy Review:

If I have to be honest, The Saem is not my favorite brand when it comes to lips products. Long time ago, I’ve tried their water tint and was disappointed with the result, so I never looked out their lips products anymore. Until few weeks ago, I found that The Saem has launched their new Saemmul lips series in a very cute packaging. They designed the packaging like cute candy. For a person like me, who love everything cute and pretty, of course I couldn’t ignore this series. So I grabbed mine on shopping cart.

Actually I tried Saemmul Water Candy Tint first and pretty loved with the result. I think The Saem has improved the formula because the old Saemmul water tint didn’t have good result on me. Days after trying Saemmul Water Candy Tint, The Saem teased me again with their Saemmul Real Gel Tint, of course still with cute candy packaging. So, here I am with my Saemmul Real Gel Tint in shade 4 Chateau Burgundy. Let’s start the review!

The Saem Saemmul Real Gel Tint in shade 4 Chateau Burgundy Review:

As I mentioned before, this product is a part of new Saemmul’s candy family (so far The Saem released 4 types of lips products with cute candy packaging), so it comes with candy package. It has similar packaging like Water Candy Tint but this one has slim-long type bottle rather than fat. If you are a cute makeup lover, it deserves to be one of your collections. In short, the packaging is pretty lovely!

Unfortunately, for anyone who always pays more attention in product knowledge (rather than only cute package), Saemmul Real Gel Tint will not give us any worthy information about the product itself on its package.

This lip tint doesn’t have outer box and only sealed with thin sticker. On the label, there’s only letters for product name and shade, without ingredients or product descriptions, even weight of the product is not there.

Well, at least The Saem put the expired date. So I guess, they want us to visit their site if we want to know more about the product informations.

As the bottle has pretty long in size, so does the applicator. I like because it makes me easier to apply the product on my lips. The tip of the applicator has doe-foot type with soft bristles too. So far, I like the applicator.

Instead of giving a lot of shades, like usually lip tint products do, Saemmul Real Gel Tint only have 4 shades. One thing that broke my heart as a pink lover is they don’t include pink color on their shades. So, generally the 4 shades are for red, orange, red-orange and dark red.

Since the first reason I bought it because of the packaging, so I chose the shade randomly. It went to number 4 which is Chateau Burgundy, the darkest shade.

Actually this shade is not into me, but I have to admit that the swatch is very pretty. The dark red color with hint of purple (or simply call it burgundy) is stand out with great pigmentation, like it claimed. If you love dark color lip products, I believe you will like it.

This shade is also perfect to make a vampy makeup if used bold and full on lips. But I prefer use as gradient lips for more natural look. I guess, I will need few years to spend this product since it contains 10 gram, while three little dots is enough for my lips, LOL.

Though this shade is not my favorite color, but I do enjoy using it (almost) everyday. The biggest reason is because I like the texture. It’s better than the Water Candy Tint that kinda dry on lips instead. With the name ‘Real Gel’ I thought it was thick like gel, but it wasn’t. The texture is kinda watery but not that runny to be called ‘water tint’.

It’s too light to be called gel too. So I’d like to call it milky in texture. It absorbs pretty quick but still easy to be blended. And the thing I liked is it won’t make my lips dry.

Like many other lip tints, after absorbed perfectly, it adheres to your lips. And the staying power is quite good. I used it for more than 4 hours and the color stayed prettily without smudging. After lunch, the color faded away but it left a pretty red stain, like the swatch I wiped off.

Please keep in mind that you have to use it bold and full lips to get the pretty stain, if you apply sheer (gradient lips) the color will disappear easier.

Before closing this review, another thing I want to share is this product has a nice scent, at least for my taste. It smell like sweet cherry with hint of mint. The scent is kinda strong but it doesn’t bother me because it will disappear after seconds.

Considering how I like the formula and its affordable price, in contrary, I think I will not buy this lip tint anymore. No other reason, because it only has 4 shades and I’m not that interested in those shades (I will change my mind if they add pink shades, LOL).

But I’m pretty sure will buy other series of Saemmul’s candy family because I want to collect them. Now I’m curious with Mousse Candy Tint and Jelly Candy Tint too.

  1. Hi! Is the expiration date the same as consume by? Or once opened you can use it for 6months to a year like other tints such as peripera?
